it is finally here. the all anticipated Cloudy Cloud Montage.
Brief description on Cloud:
Name: Scottie Holste
He is one of the best players in the halo 3.
Locked into the top team in MLG named Team Instinct.
The first player to ever win 3 consecutive MLG tournaments.
3+ time MVP Player of the year.
So back to the tage. It has been a looooonnngg month and a half working on this project with Scottie but we both had our heads high and kept striving to have a contender in this montage competition. This is of course my first legitimate halo project and i am happy to say that this is, of course, something i am very pleased with. This tage has of course had some downfalls during the process but i didn't let it bother me at all.
Scottie wanted his montage to have somewhat of a Halo2 type of feel. Not too much over editing, keeping it simple and to the point. I tried my best to capture what he wanted and to his behalf he was excited with the outcome.
So without any further ado, i present The Cloud Montage

Watching this in 2018, and man do I miss Halo 3 days, Playing and watching MLG. There have been some great video games since, But IMO the best time to play competitive shooters was During H3 and MW2 years.
I love how it started off showing Walshy getting reamed.

Honestly,I loved the editing.I do feel the gameplay was a bit underpar but I see you were trying to focus on the Pros he got clips on.Could have kept the Team BRs clip out for sole purpose of saying it's 100% MLG.Loved the song.I enjoy that there are montages aiming for chill rather than going hard-core.
Honestly,Cloud your a cheap bastard.You don't even pay ViDoL for his work?I could careless how many MLG tournys you've won or how good you are.You don't just not pay him.
Listen up nerds. I'm gonna say this just once. Other guys make montages of nothing but overkills, killtacs where they are cleaning up kills and sniping dudes who aren't even looking at them. Cloud takes it to the house for disgusting doubles, triples while getting bred in the face by other pros. How many montages do you see where dude is actually getting challenged by multiple players in almost every clip? So I personally loved the gameplay.
I thought the best clips made it in the montage with only a couple exceptions. Some people only care about how long you string multikills I guess, even if they are all clean ups and you still miss shots or even beatdowns. Almost everything that made it in here is clean and for a 1 man montage with high caliber players I think it stands on it's own.
i thought it was really good. only part i didnt like wwas around 1:30 and how you put black areas into clouds name. great montage none the less, id say 8/10
also, anyone who says this is overedited, look up "upbeat by kablescantdance" that montage is overedited
that montage was amazing, real classy editing and nice selection of clips
Player + music + Gameplay + editor = Best video ive seen so far on youtube wow.
Amazing job thats a video that has not to be afraid of dislikes even if there are some haters.

@JoBoss3 Aside from the editing in the beginning, Frenetic Array's montage was terrible. It looked pretty, but all the 3rd person pov's detracted from the actual gameplay, and so often Mattisson would cut clips short or speed everything up to keep it in sync with the music. It was way too forced.
That said, I personally don't like Cloud's montage. I loved the music and flow of it, but the clips seem sub-par for someone of Cloud's skill. The killpocalypse editing was absolutely amazing, though.
Time for some C&C:
1) Footage was awesome. That's a given.
2) Nice editing effects sort of showed up too late, in my opinion
2.5) When they did show up, I liked them a lot
3) Wasn't a huge fan of music choice
4) It was clean overall, but a little "too clean?" I wanted a shaky cam, more action, more intensity. I blame this partially on music, partially on effects
*) Even though you destroyed my favorite team (Cbn), Instinct is still my second favorite, and I'm glad it was you who had to do it.
only three things i have to say about this tage:
1)gameplay. you couldn't to anything about it vidol, and I feel like you made the best of what you had
2)song in the intro. while it was cool, I think there's a difference between being epic and being serious. I felt a really serious vibe from the intro and the song, and idk about you but I don't think that quite works with halo
3)the rest of the tage was good, so don't listen to haters. it was chill. I'm just trying to give constructive criticism
Ya this is great editing...May I ask what software and capture card you used in order to do so? I have a Roxio capture card with the software that came with it and I just edited my 2nd Halo 3 montage (first with this capture card) and it turned out okay but I like some of the editing your software lets you do!
This is how it goes in sniping top 8 snipedown, hysteria,pistola, neighbor, cloud, fearitself, roy, ace.
Snipdowns got better snipe then hysteria hysterias better then neighbor pistolas just better then neigbor clouds worse then neighbor, fears got more talen then roy and ace is a very good individual player with br and snipe coming in at 8th
@loudelloudel I beliebe YTPointBlank is actually correct. Even though there isn't a definite answer because both are posibile, during the song, at about 0:17, the singer says "you've", so he is actually speaking to someone. This means that he is informing the person he is speaking to that the night is his.
Well this was just f..king great, very enjoyable, not much to say, it was just smooth editing with complimentary gameplay, professionally done I may add, some stuffs I didn't like but I won't get in details because it didn't matter for the overall watch. Definitely one of the best montage of this year. Thumbs up.
I didn't honestly like the music choice. It made the tage seem slower paced than it should have been. It was a bit short also... What was wrong with some of those "leftover" clips from the premiere video?
Overall there was good editing and the tage flowed nicely, but it didn't really meet expectations.

Now that Halo 4 has been released for sometime. . . I can't say Reach is that pathetic anymore! I thought Reach was complete shit when I first played it. .Now Halo 4 has opened my eyes. Reach was pretty decent! Halo 4 is complete shit. . .

the pre video for this was 100000000x better than this! bad songs, okay editing and the clips werent that amazing compared to the other video. WTF VIDOL
have you played reach? if yes, give me one GOOD reason why it doesn't live up to Halo's standards. Only problem i ever saw in any halo game was that its community was slowly turning to shit.
Halo 3 > CoD... I actually like playing a game that takes skill. Wow, I wish time didn't fly so fast, 4 years and Halo is nothing now... Sad, it will always be my favorite game. REACH hahah pathetic...

Also you'd think for a guy to win three tournaments in a row would give money out. I guess hes a selfish prick and is greedy. Instincts gonna lose Raleigh now because of karma.

editing too much, you don't need to do a whole bunch of shit to every clip, some of it was cool but most of it was just flashy and irritating. cool plays

Then look forward to Halo 4, its like reach and halo 3 had a baby, and halo 3 raised it.

there was a huge dispute on the montage, vidol fucked up hard basicly, if you watch the scrapped clips its arguably a better video

Hopefully, despite the recent news, Halo 4 will turn out being the best Halo yet, and Halo will once again be the best game.

Music was bad. Editing was great. Clips were mediocre for a player of Cloud's caliber.
