It's also why they weren't on more prominent variety shows until recently. For example, our loss to Golden Child on The Show a couple months ago. Golden Child has way less views (~5 mil on Burn It), and less prominent globally (generalizing here, I didn't know who they were until DC were promoting alongside them), but their digital scores (limited to the Korean audience as you need a Korean number to stream on Melon, and other sites) were so high that we didn't really have a chance.

With time, DC title songs changed: Korean titles grew notably softer after What, and most of the more rocky or metal sound moved to Japanese editions; this may be one of the reason why they are finally getting more love in Korea. Eclipse was written and composed by their usual team, Leez and Ollounder. No More was not; the composers were Swedish (I know one was from the metal band HammerFall), the writers Japanese. R.o.S.E. BLUE was also not from their team, it was for a video game Girl Cafe Gun, and was in Korean. 16:20 maybe wasn't even staff. Sahara was filmed during the downtime at the music shows, behind the scenes, in waiting rooms etc of the TV buildings :) so it could have been literally anyone. Speaking of staff, did you notice the manager sitting on the right side at 19:17? ROFL.

Rock & Metal genre actually quite huge in Japanese entertainment industry...that's why Dreamcatcher went to heavier music style like Endless Night & No More for Japanese release...for Korean market, they just stick to their iconic Pop Rock EDM music style...
Don´t know if anybody gave you the explanation already and too lazy to read all the comments. So especially for the korean releases, Leez and Ollounder do nearly anything With recent albums the members helped and with some older songs a few other people participated. As far as I know, LEEZ does more of the producing and composing and Ollounder is an allrounder regarding instruments. They said he normally plays all the instruments himself and records it. Of course they will also use the computer generated ones, but if it´s real instruments live at least for the korean releases it´s mostly Ollounder playing those instruments. He also sometimes posts on instragram how he is playing the guitar to some of the Dreamcatcher songs. For the japanese market they often collaborate with other people. For Endless night for example they got the Drummer of the Band Coldrain (if you like metal, clean singing with some scream, absolutley would recommend to listen to them) that played the drums in the song and a guitarist from another band, that now is a solo act, but cant remember from which group he was. For the new Eclipse Album, they got somebody from a european metal band that also played the instruments and got another producer (Johann Becker, he also did songs for Girls Generation) additionally to Ollounder and Leez to help them.
Rose Blue was a collaboration with Girls Cafe Gun, or something along the lines. it´s a chinese gaming company, the composer that worked with them is a famous korean composer that did some Game / Movie Soundtracks. The song was a korean one, but in collaboration with the chinese game company.
and the thing why not a lot of people buy so much stuff is probably, bc a lof of kpop fans are teens or young adults. I mean its shifting it´s getting more crowded and people from all walks of life are getting into kpop. But still like the majority of kpop fans are probably still people between 14-22 yo and a lot of them are students, or go to university but don´t work yet. Most of them, just listen to them on youtube or spotify, which helps them to get exposure in the west but does nothing for them in korea. Probably also a lot of those fans just stan 1 group or buy just from more groups bc it`s expensive. I mean the albums with all the thins inside, probably should be 3x the price they are now, but if you preorder you mostly pay between 8-14 Euro for an album, here in the west a lot of albums start at around 18-25 Euro. Most korean companies are probably underselling when they sell their albums (or the western people just way overprice their albums with literally nothing in it but ok). I mean ofc there are still a lot of those younger fans that work on the side or get pocketmoney or whatever and still buy some stuff, but not all of them and also older fans don´t necessarily have the means for it. Also getting korean stuff is hard depending on where you live. Either you get it rather expensive from korea (got more expensive bc the shipping prices like doubled in some cases trippled) or you are lucky enough that some local stores sell it or that you have some reseller that kinda resell it on your countries amazon for a kinda reasonable price. And a lot of normal or new kpop fans, probably don´t want to get into the hassle to get the albums and just listen to it on youtube, itunes, spotify. I mean that´s also what I did for nearly 8 years, before one group really sparked my interest and i started to get like a bazillion albums :D
I feel compelled to answer your questions. The little light is a night light that came with the fanclub package if you were one of the lucky ones who noticed in the summer of 2019 that they were recruiting for their new fanclub called InSomnia. Since they didn't promote it lot of foreign fans didn't notice until after the signup period was over. Their company really isn't very good at promotion. I hope they will start recruiting again once Covid is over. Not much point before then because most of the perks of membership involve fan meetings and concerts.
Their 'band' is two guys by the name of LEEZ and Ollounder. They compose, arrange, write, produce and lay down the instrument tracks for most of their songs. They play a lot of the instrument tracks with LEEZ being expert on keyboards so the piano is usually him. Ollounder favors stringed instruments and drums. They both do background vocals and voice effects like the scream in Scream which was Ollounder and the shout at the beginning of Gahyeon's rap with the flags in Boca. They bring in session musicians if they need a particular sound and they collaborate with Japanese lyricists and musicians for the Japanese tracks. Koreans don't care about musicians or song writers because the Kpop industry focuses all attention on the idols. It's very unusual, probably unheard of for a Kpop group to perform with a live band the way Dreamcatcher has. Just another example of them leading the way. We in the West celebrate musicians and song writers, but Koreans don't which is sad because the talent is there. Japanese like rock music and Koreans don't so Dreamcatcher can really stretch their wings in Japan. If you watch Korean reactors watching Dreamcatcher you'll see it.
The thing is that people like their music but dont stick we them. People dont care to follow the members and discover more about their personalities. We all agree DC music its amazing but the members are a big reason to stan DC. They are the main reason( for me )why you stay. When I started listening to DC music I was already into Kpop and other groups so I knew I have to see more content about the members. I did it and right away they become my favourite group. So for people that arent so into kpop wont stick with them or any other group if they dont have a reason to do it, people who stan kpop groups usually are the ones who are already curious about kpop music and take the chance to listen new music out of your comfort in a foreing language.
They usually work with LEEZ and Ollounder who, as far as I can tell, do pretty much everything, from writing the music/lyrics, production, the instruments -- though they bring in other songwriters/producers/musicians from time to time. No More was written and produced by a couple of Swedes I think. Some other songs notable for *not* being by LEEZ and Ollounder: Fly High, What, Trap, Scar, R.o.S.E BLUE. But the majority have some involvement by them. I haven't stumbled upon much information about who plays the instruments, but on the Road to Utopia track list teaser they did include this information. It seems like Ollounder plays most of them, LEEZ has a single drum credit on Wind Blows but that seems to be it. But who knows how much of it is real instruments, obviously a lot of it is MIDI. Also, LEEZ is a really great singer! He has some stuff on UA-cam, including a really awesome recording of Deja Vu.
At 16:02 that was a mood light that came in the Fanclub kit. Most korean tracks are produced by Leez and Ollounder and they play most of the instruments. Leez does the background vocals along with Siyeon usually. For Japanese ones, they also produced Breaking Out and Eclipse. Eclipse is the OST for King's Raid in Japan while Deja Vu was for the game version in Korea. btw, Eclipse debuted at #8 in Japan's anime charts which is awesome. And if you would've done 'Don't Light My Fire' instead of Sahara this would've been a listening party of the Eclipse EP so please do that one next time bc that song is awesome and deserves!

You guys HAVE to check out Don't Light My Fire, it's the third and last song from the Eclipse CD. I'm sure you've been told about the song already, but there's actually no way you won't like it (I think, lol) Also, Eclipse actually is an anime opening, they made it for the King's Raid anime, for the second half of the first season. Leez and Ollunder their Producers are the ones who usually play all the Instruments for the Album Recordings. Just check the Album Credits on any Dreamcatcher Albums You Currently Own. The Producers Names are Spelled out in English along with The Descriptions of Lyrics By, Composed By, Arranged By, Chorus By, Rap By, Guitars, Drums, Keyboards etc...Only The Members Names and Some Others are Written In Hageul/Korean after each of those, but Leez and Ollunder are always credited as Leez and Ollunder and Not their Korean Names or Alternatively They Will Be Credited as Super Bomb as Producers as their Producer/Production Team Name; which also happens to be the Name of The KPOP Group they were once part of before moving over to producing for Dreamcatcher and ATEEZ. Yes For Japanese Releases They Work With And are under the label Pony Canyon. Eclipse is Really an Anime Intro. Its for The Kings Raid Anime from Funimation. they can't promote in japan so that's why the last few japanese releases didn't have a proper mv with choreo. the last real japanese comeback was endless night where they spent money with the mv, costumes, made a choreo, etc but never got a chance to promote in japan due to covid.

It's a pity you didn't listen to the third track of the "Eclipse" EP, "Don't Light my Fire". But still, the three songs you've listened to today lie among my top 10 fave Dreamcatcher songs (1st, 9th and 6th, in fact). These talented queens can never let us down BTW, "R.o.S.E. Blue" was made as part of the OST for the Korean game "Girl Cafe Gun". As you've seen, it's a Korean single, not Japanese. But still another of my top 10 DC songs. Too beautiful for this world And yes, Japanese releases tend to be heavier than the Korean ones. The Japanese public is more used to Rock elements than the Korean one. Although in Dreamcatcher we haven't seen growling vocals yet (not even in "No More"), after listening to "Don't Light my Fire" I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Melodic Death Metal song in the upcoming years. In ye olden days before we had so many platforms to communicate with idols fans used to send handwritten letters to the companies (I feel so old for remembering this 😭). Well, we still do that, but now it's cause some idols like receiving letters. But, yeah, there weren't many ways of saying "hey, I really like your stuff" except for buying albums.

They bring in session musicians if they need a particular sound and they collaborate with Japanese lyricists and musicians for the Japanese tracks. Koreans don't care about musicians or song writers because the Kpop industry focuses all attention on the idols. It's very unusual, probably unheard of for a Kpop group to perform with a live band the way Dreamcatcher has. Just another example of them leading the way. We in the West celebrate musicians and song writers, but Koreans don't which is sad because the talent is there. Japanese like rock music and Koreans don't so Dreamcatcher can really stretch their wings in Japan. If you watch Korean reactors watching Dreamcatcher you'll see it.
Leez and Ollounder don't really produce a lot of their JP tracks.

The thing is that people like their music but dont stick we them. People dont care to follow the members and discover more about their personalities. We all agree DC music its amazing but the members are a big reason to stan DC. They are the main reason( for me )why you stay. When I started listening to DC music I was already into Kpop and other groups so I knew I have to see more content about the members. I did it and right away they become my favourite group.
So for people that arent so into kpop wont stick with them or any other group if they dont have a reason to do it, people who stan kpop groups usually are the ones who are already curious about kpop music and take the chance to listen new music out of your comfort in a foreing language.

They usually work with LEEZ and Ollounder who, as far as I can tell, do pretty much everything, from writing the music/lyrics, production, the instruments -- though they bring in other songwriters/producers/musicians from time to time. No More was written and produced by a couple of Swedes I think. Some other songs notable for *not* being by LEEZ and Ollounder: Fly High, What, Trap, Scar, R.o.S.E BLUE. But the majority have some involvement by them.
I haven't stumbled upon much information about who plays the instruments, but on the Road to Utopia track list teaser they did include this information. It seems like Ollounder plays most of them, LEEZ has a single drum credit on Wind Blows but that seems to be it. But who knows how much of it is real instruments, obviously a lot of it is MIDI. Also, LEEZ is a really great singer! He has some stuff on UA-cam, including a really awesome recording of Deja Vu.

Most korean tracks are produced by Leez and Ollounder and they play most of the instruments. Leez does the background vocals along with Siyeon usually. For Japanese ones, they also produced Breaking Out and Eclipse. Eclipse is the OST for King's Raid in Japan while Deja Vu was for the game version in Korea. btw, Eclipse debuted at #8 in Japan's anime charts which is awesome.
And if you would've done 'Don't Light My Fire' instead of Sahara this would've been a listening party of the Eclipse EP so please do that one next time bc that song is awesome and deserves!

No More is my no.1 DC song, it's so fucking heavy, I love it. I have wondered if the musicians are from Babymetal as they have a mutual love for each other, maybe DC hired them just for that song, it wouldn't surprise me.

BTW, "R.o.S.E. Blue" was made as part of the OST for the Korean game "Girl Cafe Gun". As you've seen, it's a Korean single, not Japanese. But still another of my top 10 DC songs. Too beautiful for this world
And yes, Japanese releases tend to be heavier than the Korean ones. The Japanese public is more used to Rock elements than the Korean one. Although in Dreamcatcher we haven't seen growling vocals yet (not even in "No More"), after listening to "Don't Light my Fire" I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Melodic Death Metal song in the upcoming years. They're the queens of experimenting, not only talented ones. XD
In ye olden days before we had so many platforms to communicate with idols fans used to send handwritten letters to the companies (I feel so old for remembering this 😭). Well, we still do that, but now it's cause some idols like receiving letters. But, yeah, there weren't many ways of saying "hey, I really like your stuff" except for buying albums.
