I hope this tutorial about how I built up my Canon SL3 rig was helpful. Did it help you or give you some good ideas? Let me know what you think!! Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Picked up one of those 128G Sandisk cards. Loving my sl3 so far but it only came with 2x 32G cards. Looking into getting the cage and the handle but the rest of it looks a little out of my reach for right now.
More weight is the first step to better handheld footage! Thanks for showing us these build ideas with affordability in mind. You were actually the one that helped me decide on my first camera.
I love your videos cause your reviews are honest. You are the only guy that didn't say a negative thing about the SL3 and tottaly believe it cause I own an SL2 and I'm way satisfied with what this camera can offer me.
Thank you, Sagi! I own this camera and you knocked this video( and all of your others) out of the park. Thank you for the detail and multiple options for myself and others you went into detail on. Love your channel and keep these style of videos coming!
This video's damn good, I myself bought a Moza Air 3 Axis Gimbal, RODE VideoMic GO, RODE Smartlav+ (w/ SC3 adapter & SC1 6m extender cable), 10-18mm lens, 50mm lens, backup battery and a few Extreme Pro SD cards for my SL3 (200DII where I live) - I don't film for super long periods of time so it works good for now 😄
This is pretty awesome. I guess the key to it all (for unlimited recording time) is the Atomos Ninja. But I had no idea you could get clean HDMI out of an SL3. Way cool.
Great tutorial. I rigged one of these cameras out myself. Unfortunately I could not find a full camera cage. It is now unavailable . So I used a half cage that I got on line and 3D printed from the file. The rig turned out great but one major problem is that the HDMI cable protrudes out on one side. Problem with the half cage is that I couldn't attach an out board handle. Still trying to solve that problem.
I am a beginner to photography and looking for a budget camera that I can use for learning photography and videography. At the same time, I would like to use the same camera for the initial years of my career in wedding and portrait photography. I love SL3 and it is within my budget as well. But, not sure whether it will serve my above-said purpose. Please help me. Should I go for SL3 or could you please recommend me some other cameras as well. Thank you
I am always impressed how thoroughly you research your videos you give so much information how it works what to buy I want to go out and buy the whole thing I don’t care how much it costs that’s how enthusiastic you make me thanks so much.
I use the SL3 to my multi camera home studio with a Atomos Shogun and the images I've gotten is amazing! I'm shocked with how nice the images have been!
So you kind of lost me with the battery section of the video. Can I use a power bank into the SL3 USB ...to power the SL3 when the battery is low or is depleted?
One thing I find confusing when looking at cages is the various standards 1/4 20 vs nato rail vs the third standard. I don't feel comfortable ordering a cage with accessories. Especially comparing smallrig at $120 vs Uurig for half the price. How do one know which parts fit without zooming in on e-store images and still roll the dice.
I'm a very new to videography and this looks like a great setup and exactly like what I'm looking for. My only question is whether you've had any issues with the Atmos Ninja V with Canon SL3 as it's not called out as a 'compatible' camera on their website. Thanks again for the video, very easy to understand and informative!
That cage is very nice but I looked it up everywhere and has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Do you know os any other septic cage ( not universal) for the sl3? Thank you. Great video !!!
Love your videos. Well shot, very detailed and you don't waste any time and get straight to the point. May I ask how are you doing your pan movements? Automatic slider or you have a camera man?
What are the best settings when recording video? Should I shoot a flat video and color grade later? or try to go for the look I want in camera? what would give the best results? Right now I'm having an issue with either over exposure at some areas or image noise.
Great Video. I have a Canon SL3 and I want to buy the right power junkie do you have any videos on this? And the link to buy the the right power junkie, thanks.
Hey man, I enjoyed this video because you explained things I needed to know. I got the sl3 and want to learn more about it. I got to check the cage you have around the camera, I would love to fix up my camera like that. I would like to hear back from you on the cage you have around the camera.
Great video! Thanks for the info. I noticed that the cage you recommended in the video has been discontinued. Any others you recommend. I can’t find one that’s specifically for the canon 250D rebel 3
I have an issue with shotgun & lav mic with 200d ii. There is an annoying hissing sound generated although my voice sounds clear. Have u had this issue? If so, can you please give a solution
Thank you for the amazing rig idea. Have been completely stuck in figuring out how to proceed with a camera body update - bought the BMPCC 6k Pro and quickly returned it due to no autofocus. I have an SL3 but the 2.64 crop factor for 4k is a huge problem. Had never considered getting the Ninja V or V*+. Almost there, just need your help with one more piece of the puzzle. Does the SL3 HDMI 4k output include the 2.64 crop factor or does it give us the full APS-C sensor size? I can’t tell you how happy I will be if you tell me it’s the full sensor!! Thanks for your help
The SL3 has bluetooth right? So can you get headphones that are bluetooth and use to listen to audio in the field? I am looking for an economical way to actually listen to the audio on this camera before I dedicate to buying one. I'm told that this camera comes with an app, can audio be heard by using the app?
Great video! Can you monitor your audio with headphones while using the external mic jack? You couldn't do that on the Canon T5s, so I'm wondering if this camera fixed that issue.
Enjoyed this video and it was very informational, was wondering what is the best or what are good options for a hybrid camera? I don’t really mind spending money on a camera. Kind of as a hobby and who knows maybe start getting better at it little by little
Thank you! I’m sorry - the video does show how to record for longer than 29 mins - but it can only be done externally. I can see how it could be confusing. I appreciate the feedback 🙏🏻
Hi can you suggest a lens for Canon M50 that is between 15 to 24mm wide has image stabilisation and good low light aperture around f2... ps I hav the efm 20mm f2 lens which is nearly perfect except it doesn't have image stabilisation. Thanks in advance. 👍
Awesome video. When i'm recording in bright places sometimes I'm not able to watch what's happening, because the LCD reflects too much light . Do you think the monitor can help it ? It's possible to up the brightening of my LCD ? Thanks
Thanks Bruno - You can increase the brightness in SETUP 2 ->DISP BRIGHTNESS. This recorder (and other monitors) can be brighter than the camera, regardless. You can also add a sunshade.
Hey Sagi, great video once again!!! This rig is similar to the M50 which just tells me it’s a great rig that gives you everything you need for a cinematic cheap camera. Keep up the good work!!
Question On the sl2 Can you get touch screen and the monitor working at the same time ? I have a port keys 5 And can you get audio Seems like it records audio but doesn’t monitor and show the levels on the monitor until play back

@@TechGearTalk Have you tried the atomos ninja v to the Canon m6ii? Does it output 10bit 4:2:2 @24p?
Thanks for focusing on cameras the we can actually access!!! 😅
You are very welcome Andre - I try to get a good mix.
Far and away the best camera tutorial I have ever seen in 30 years of shooting video. Wow!!!

Yea please make a video explaining the external recording stuff. I'd love to learn that. Great video as always!
You got it!
@@TechGearTalk You're awesome!
This was extremely fun to watch, educational and entertaining I love how passionate you are!!! So excited to check out that light 😁
Thank you so much!! 🙏
Great video!! Now I'm here in 2022 and can't find this cage ANYWHERE. Does anyone know where I can find ANY cage that fits my SL3??
What I find amazing is how you keep focusing on the lens straight eye contact
thanks for the kind words my friend.
Its finally here thanks You know what I kept turning up to your channel every day every hour and its finally here now
Hope you enjoyed it! Glad I could finally deliver

I can’t find the cage anywhere
Awesome info bro, what u think about Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens for youtube videos and pic
for m50?
It's a nice lens, as long as you're ok with the larger size of the lens + adapter.
That's a Hollywood rig man beast. BTW congratulation on 100K Subs.
It's a beast!!! Appreciate you and the support!

I use a Sony a6400 for filmmaking. I'm picking up a Sl3 for photography (Canon color science). But this video was cool to watch.
This cage is discontinued, is there an alternative?
Hi👋 .. is their a upgraded version? This smallrig is no longer available
This video's damn good, I myself bought a Moza Air 3 Axis Gimbal, RODE VideoMic GO, RODE Smartlav+ (w/ SC3 adapter & SC1 6m extender cable), 10-18mm lens, 50mm lens, backup battery and a few Extreme Pro SD cards for my SL3 (200DII where I live) - I don't film for super long periods of time so it works good for now 😄
That's a super nice setup you created!
Amazing information. Thank you! I think this is one of the best and cheapest set for stream and record video this time. 👏
So glad I could help!
Awesome they finally made a cage just orders on b and h, back order but have waited long time for this
This is pretty awesome. I guess the key to it all (for unlimited recording time) is the Atomos Ninja. But I had no idea you could get clean HDMI out of an SL3. Way cool.
Another epic upload. I was hunting for an epic fill light and boom here is one! Thanks 💪🏼
Thank you very much for uploading this very useful video. Can you share the link of the third party batteries for this camera?.Greetz.

This was awesome.. specially the bonus material! Lol you're the best!
The Cage you featured is no longer available at B&H or any other place I've looked. Can you recommend an alternative? Thanks
just got my cage, put it together and it looks great! thanks for your advice!!
CONGRATS!!! So glad you're happy with it!
I almost spit out my drink when I saw how much you rigged out an SL3, but you know, it’s cool. Nice rig and nice video.
🤣😂
Had to do it! Appreciate the support and kind words!
You make a very camera so exciting and enticing lol.. With those accessories it is definitely a game changer! Dope video.
Thanks so much Daniel!!
Hello. Any Idea where to get this Small Rig for SL3 now days? Seems to be discontinued. Thanks
Because of your vids, just bought the SL3
Glad I've been helpful.
i can't find the small rig, for canon 250d / SL3, can help?

I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words Steven.
I bought one after watching your review! Bless!!!🙏
Good choice! Thanks for being part of the channel!
I have sl3 when do you think I should upgrade my camera
When an upgrade saves you time, makes you money by adding features you don’t have, or removes friction from the creative process.
I use the SL3 to my multi camera home studio with a Atomos Shogun and the images I've gotten is amazing! I'm shocked with how nice the images have been!
Totally agree!
What lens is that on your rig?
Who owns a Canon 250D camera in 2022, should he switch to better cameras, or is it enough to create content for UA-cam?
Hi techGearTalk could you happen to know where can i buy the camera cage for this
Thanks for this man..
Thank you for watching!
So you kind of lost me with the battery section of the video. Can I use a power bank into the SL3 USB ...to power the SL3 when the battery is low or is depleted?

Glad it was helpful! Super appreciate the support 🙏
Love love love! Thank you for the advice. This has helped!
So glad it was helpful! Thank you for being part of the channel!
I use the sl2 because you get 24fps in 1080 so I can use dual pixel af. But as always, the video was great
I totally get it.
the rig you mentioned in your video is no more available at BHB Store??? can you tell us away to get from somewhere else????
Hi where can i buy the Metal body frame, can i have the link

I have seen a coupler plugged in to a power socket for inhome continuous shooting. But the can’t identify the best one
The one I have in the description works great for me both plugged in, via power bank and with the power junkie
Thank you so much for the kind words! I use several motorized sliders - hope that helps
The cage you listed for the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 no longer exists
Wow! That’s very informative thanks Sagi! You got me really curious about the Ninga V 5! Great video as always 🙌🏻
My pleasure Dor!
About the battery, how do you connect the power junkie to the camera?
There is a battery coupler that goes into the battery compartment.
Thank you for your content! Your give such valuable information!
I do my best. Appreciate the support
Would you recommend this camera for a set down podcast with 4 or 5 people
Yes
Excellent video, Sagi. Thanks for all the great info. Very helpful!
Glad you liked it Norman.
tinha como por so o link da Cage? obgd!

Will this monitor work with the Canon M50 as far as using the controls without plugin out the monitor since the M50 has no clean hdmi output?

My Canon Rebel SL3 external mics have been picking up interference, radio channels specifically. How do you prevent that?
I can’t find this cage nowhere any recommendations I tried the link but it looks like it’s discontinued now
What is the best gimbal you can suggest for sl3
Where can we get these small rigs? No one has them. For such a popular camera they discontinued them.
Hi there will any dslr cage fit the 250d ?
Great video! Thanks for the info. I noticed that the cage you recommended in the video has been discontinued. Any others you recommend. I can’t find one that’s specifically for the canon 250D rebel 3

Very nice setup. Sadly that cage is no longer manufactured.
