- How Princess Catherine was mistaken for Prince William's assistant. The funny incident happened during a trip to Wales, when Catherine and William decided to talk to the wards of a nursing home, where they had to come in masks. Joan Drew-Smith, 87, who had the good fortune to speak to the titled persons asked Prince William, "Is this your assistant?" and pointed at Kate. "Yes, I'm here to help him. I've been doing this for a long time," Kate replied.
That's really sweet that she didn't make the lady feel bad about the assumption. Princess Catherine is so kind and generous.
Well in reality Catherine is Prince William's assistant in many ways as a wife unknowingly always assists.her husband on many levels in life.
But I do agree: wish I could be there to se Prince William's face 😂😂😂😂

@@SuperStella1111 Well to be honest the Princess of Wales is not just "some celebrity", and I meant she might have been embarrassed for mistaking his wife for an "assistant". Princess Catherine was empathic in not chastising her saying, "I'm his WIFE."
If it was Meghan, she would have pushed wards away and have given 3 interviews to Oprah on how she was victim of racism

I love how Katherine just goes with it she doesn’t get nasty she doesn’t get rude. She just plays along and just goes with it. I love it.
I think to me the beautiful message wasnt even "playing along with it". I felt it was more like she put herself in the position to assist and help her husband with royal duties, as a real partner. I think it was a beautiful response and this was my interpretation of her saying.

@@annelizabethnugent6089 And you need to educate yourself that it is only the King or Queen who can bestow such titles on those who aren't. King Charles gave her the title when she and William became Prince and Princess of Wales. Same as what the late Queen did with Diana, who was also not a born princess but people referred to her as such. The other grandchildren, do not have them because they're not in line for the throne like William and Harry are. Eugenie and Beatrice only have the princess titles because Andrew begged his mum to give it to them.

She could have said : no, I m the princess Catherine...
But she never would, because she understands that the elderly lady probably doesn't keep up with social media and probably forgot or didn't recognise her with the face mask, and it would be embarrassing for the elderly lady to be correctly in such a situation where she knows she's meeting Prince William. I love her grace and empathy about those situations. Like drawing a flower on a children's drawing because she's not allowed to sign it. Pure class.

This points to Princess Catharine's great sense of humour. She did not get offended. She just rolled with it. Of course her comments could apply to being a wife as well. I hope Prince William did not correct the elderly lady, who might have been very embarrassed by her mistake. I imagine Princess Diana responding in much the same way.
There is a similar story about a very casually dressed Queen Elizabeth II, being asked by a tourist, walking in the Royal grounds, if she had ever met the Queen. She said no, she hadn't, but that her companion had. The Queen had no desire to cause embarrassment to the tourist who had failed to recognize her. Or maybe she just did not want to be recognized as the Queen, in such casual attire. Not proper and dignified, as the Queen usually appeared.
I loved that story of that encounter with the tourists and I believe the assistant mentioned taking a photo of the couple with the Queen without revealing who she really was so they could have a memorable surprise later.

This is one thing I really love about these 2. They have a sense of humor but they never belittle each other or begrudge a good word for the other (and they never make a big deal about who they are or call each other "this one" .)
