    Great video as always! 👏🏻I’ve been working on a good way to have students practice rod hand - tip - line relationship before moving to the horizontal drill and I really like this!

    Back in the early 80's , Barn Elms Reservoir (run by Thames Water, was the nearest day ticket trout fishery from where I lived then), I remember struggling with the fly cast. On my second visit, I noticed a gentleman about 10 metres to my right (33 feet in old money) was watching me. I looked at him and before I could say hello, asked me if I wanted a quick lesson. And what he taught me was uncannily similar to what you showed in your UA-cam vid (we didn't have UA-cam in them days 😂 . And the method worked well for me. Unfortunately that was the only time I saw him.
    Sadly Barn Elms closed its door in the late 80's to make way for a bird sanctuary/wetlands kinda thing. For a few years I had to travel to Walthamstow and Farmoor in Oxford to get my fly fishing fix, and latterly I joined a club in Surrey, Effingham Flyfishers. Those were wonderful days indeed.

      Interesting. I wonder who that was. Did you ever fish Ardleigh reservoir back then?

      @@SexyloopsTV Paul, I didn't get a chance to fish Ardleigh but was interested to go piking there but that didn't materialise for some reason.
      On another note, it was at Barn Elms that I first met Dr Ling (Malaysian MCI). Must have been around 1988. Btw, I am now in Shah Alam, Malaysia 😀

      It’s interesting how things happen. I would almost certainly have sold a fishing ticket to Irhamy in England! 😆

    In order to cast such inverted loops, are you aiming to accelerate your rod along a flat surface (keep it in plane) or along a curved surface (not in plane)?

      @@berndziesche9770 yes it’s a very good reason to go through the video manual section on Sexyloops instead of just watching UA-cam videos in exclusion.

      @@SexyloopsTV "Inverted loop" means an upside down loop and just that. Since you teach SLP for regular (tight) loops (according to several SL videos), I don't see why this would change for the inverted loops. If you curve the rod path during acceleration you aim for a none straight tip path all along. A relatively open loop will result. No issue on such a short line and no (or nearly no) wind of course. Why one of the essentials for excellent loops like keeping the rod in one plane would depend on whatever level of student is beyond my understanding.

      @SexyloopsTV  6 місяців тому

      @@berndziesche9770SLP isn’t actually accurate as we know. But I don’t explain that until much later. In the case of inverted loops with a beginner making his very first loops I am certainly not going to discuss curving the tip path in the vertical plane or using pull-back to set a tighter loop. But if I was teaching an inverted loop to a more advanced student I would teach both.
