Greener shipping underpins research and development at Newcastle University's School of Engineering. Working closely with industry, university staff and students are exploring a number of technologies of international importance to produce greener shipping systems. From their research vessel, and marine station at Port of Blyth, projects such as energy monitoring systems, and propellor efficiency are engaging passionate and ambitious students who want to make a difference to our world.
'Making Waves: The Future of Shipping', is an online programme telling the story of the issues and opportunities facing the shipping industry at a time of environmental crisis.
