    Great introduction. Thanks! I play poker, chess, and backgammon. Othello is the next game I want to get into.

      I wonder what happened with your journey with Othello?

    Wow, thank you for this. I just got this game at a local thrift store, but it didn't have any instructions/rules. It is a little intimidating, especially that you could end up with a game 56 to 6! I hope to be playing this with my 12 yr. old and she won't like it if she loses that big. So I will be watching your other videos for strategy.

    Hi David, thank you for creating these videos. They are extremely helpful and answer the many questions I had about playing the game. Btw, who makes the boards you use in the videos. Thank you.

    @tatomuck18 Hi tato,
    There's a short answer and a long answer. the short is there is no difference.
    The long answer is that the game is called Othello, by the rights are owned by Anjar and Megahouse, so to avoid breach of copyright the net has adopted the name reversi.
    Reversi being a very similar game that was created around 1880 that Othello was based on around 1970

    I don't know if you still check this or not but I was wondering if there are any books I could read or books with recorded matches to replay and learn from any information would be most helpful.
    Thank you.

      Hi, You can't flip discs of your own colour. Is that what you're meaning?

    • @SJ-hz7iu
      @SJ-hz7iu 2 роки тому +1

      @@Othellolessons I got it, after going through the rules more thoroughly.. it seems that you can only flip the disc resulting from your direct move, and not from any flip. Anyways, I appreciate your effort to reply me. Thank u so much..
