💜Add Tony's seasoning to your refried beans, and you can thank me later, LOL! Apparently, restaurants always season refried beans, so they taste different from what is sold in the store. Usually, they add some pepper or chili powder mix, according to what I read online. I live in the South and use a LOT of "cajun" seasoning, which has those kinds of things in it. I've been adding Tony's to my refried beans for a while now, and I love it! I have yet to find much it wasn't good on--eggs, rice, etc. I heard Dollar Tree sells a Cajun Seasoning, too. I plan to try it once my Tony's runs out. Thanks for all the great ideas! I hope everyone is doing well!
Today's EXTREME budget meal idea video is a little different than my normal as I am giving you many ways to ADD on to your meals if you want to add more "balance". I get a LOT of comments about ways to add to these meals so I thought this would be super helpful in sharing the "extreme" vs the balance depending on your personal budget!
I only use 1.5 cups of water, add frozen chik'n strips, peanut butter, gochuhang, frozen veg (or leftover veg), chives, and few extra spices with the soy packet and cook it for about 4 minutes. The broth will become a delicious sauce ....
Thank you!! These times are hard for so many, and I appreciate so much creators who are working very hard to help us feed our families. Much appreciated!
So fun! I'm definitely going to have to show my kids the ramen ideas. They will be jazzed! Freezing pancakes is a great idea. I'm one who would rather make a large batch than have to make them daily.
You can buy the Top Ramens that aren't vegetarian, but just don't use the flavor packet - use your own spices and sauces - will still be cheap. At my Dollar Tree they don't carry vegetarian ramen, so this is the solution I'm going to use. Getting the packs of ramen noodles at the $1 store is still a cheap meal, even using your own items to jazz it up.
🤔❓🤯 "Why don't you include the cost of electricity and the water in the budget?!" The people that are making those types of comments just want attention and want to create drama. Please ignore them. 😅💕
@@justtee1259 Yep and as an adult I quickly learned common sense isn't common. There's a lot of adults (grown kids) that operate emotionally on the scale of a two year old
Yeah you can go on and say, cost of rent, cost of stove, cost of pan, etc... it is ridiculous when someone wants to argue about the cost of one these budget meals
If you weren't vegetarian... I used to make pancakes with oats, a banana, cottage cheese, and a dash of cinnamon. Blend it altogether and cook like normal pancakes. Super healthy, and my very picky kids love them. Since you're vegetarian, maybe use a nut butter in place of cottage cheese?
I am pinched at the moment (m car needs a fix). I disnt have much in my house this morning and i came across your video. The oats banana pancakes🥰🥰🥰 it was “birthed” true a situation but i love them. Even if i win the lottery i will continue making and eating then. Thank you
Some Apple sauce 🍎to the banana 🍌 and oats would add another layer of flavor 😋 maybe even some cinnamon also but it would also add to cost of budget meal. Love the idea of cooking on the stove!! Definitely will be trying this one and the taco bake…. Yummmmm
Thank you for great ideas! Times are tough and even though I haven't been able to incorporate all four food groups into my meals, if I can supplement with cheap, simple meals like you have suggested, it will stretch my food budget so I can.
A practice i have is to visit places that don't show their proces online, then i compare to Coles and Woolies prices through their apps while I'm in the other store(s). Often, this saves me a trip to the big supermarkets 😜 I just cooked home-made crunchy muesli clusters yesterday, and they were PHENOMENAL 🎉 and the price was so affordable!! I really appreciated the nerdy comparison chart with percentages ❤ and the fact that everything was so darn healthy!! I make my own bone broth, too. I will run the same bones TWICE and find that the second time yields a thicker broth than the first! If you're making your own bone broth, you can save the fat and use that to fry with. If you get soup bones from the butcher's, then the meat will fall off the bones to the bottom of the pot and you can make a wonderful stew with this as well as your bone broth.
This isn’t true. In Mexico City, if you order a quesadilla you have to specify that you want cheese on it. Quesadilla don’t HAVE to have cheese to still be considered a quesadilla
That’s a great tip about Chik fil A for condiments. My granddaughter asked for ten of the sauces to take home to her boyfriend and they happily gave them to her.
Around here they have started saying 2 sauces are included and to get extra that they offer bottles of sauces for sale. Idk if that is just the local one here but they don't allow you to get extras 😢
The first time my boyfriend and I went to a chik fil a we didn't know what sauce, so we asked for two of each and they happily gave them to us. We had a whole bag of condiments. ❤

I like the jazz music, reminds me of Christmas. ❤
Thank you!! These times are hard for so many, and I appreciate so much creators who are working very hard to help us feed our families. Much appreciated!
I put a scoop of greek yogurt on pancakes to add protein.
Do the center of the oatcakes stay moist or will it have a pancake texture. My hubby will eat pancakes but nothing that is too moist.
@@marymcdonald6284 Usually these kinds of oat recipes have their own texture (think like baked oatmeal). It wont be "bready" like a regular pancake.
Simple, nutrious, and frugal - love it!
I loved this video! Awesome for these times of high food inflation!
Eating simply is a good thing & these recipes are great.
Love the background music ❤

Correct. The people that are giving her a hard time for that type of stuff are so ridiculous.

Sometimes I get mad at people that don’t have comman sense but then I remember it’s just the internet net being crazy 😂

I've seen so much of this lately. It's like people can't be happy unless they have something to complain about!!
Yeah you can go on and say, cost of rent, cost of stove, cost of pan, etc... it is ridiculous when someone wants to argue about the cost of one these budget meals
Sure. Add the cost of water... I pay .003 a gallon.
You can use a bullet or any shake maker to make oat flour 👍
@motivated I wondered about that too
I do that, but if I'm using quick oats it doesn't matter much if they are whole. They kind of disappear.
Simple me, loves when you do Simple you..😁❤❤❤
I add the eggs to the oats and banana and they are great!
I wonder if oat bran could work since I don't have a food processor/ blender.

Cottage cheese is vegetarian. It’s not vegan, but neither is she
Love cottage cheese plus added protein
@blondvampire165 Yeah... I never assume anymore. Seems like everyone has a different interpretation for vegetarian. Lol

Looks good!
Ramen noodles with frozen vegies and an egg
Northern México: Quesadillas must have cheese, it is in the name.
Central México: IDGAF

Awesome ideas! I appreciate it!
I would add avacado tomato spinach to wrap

Do u have cookbook❤
i do check out the pinned comment above!
Love your videos thank u so much.. just curious are u now vegetarian because of the baby?
Nope! Just decided to change my way of eating and found pregnancy to be the perfect time to introduce new foods since I have so many food aversions
The second one is not a quesadilla, that would require queso (cheese) it’s a bean taco. But it does look good!
This isn’t true. In Mexico City, if you order a quesadilla you have to specify that you want cheese on it. Quesadilla don’t HAVE to have cheese to still be considered a quesadilla
I'm sry but I'd definitely need a sprinkle of cheese on this!
Speedway iñ my state is selling a single banana, orange and apple for a $1.09! 😭
Yes at a gas station you’ll always pay more fit convenience vs a grocery store
❤
I couldn’t find your ramen link
There are so many nit-picky people !!! They really asked you why you didn't add the cost of electricity or water ??? Come on !!!
