Step 1: Know your aesthetics 1. Create a moodboard that include everything you like (shirts, bags, shoes, colors, scent, etc) 2. Analyze and make a list why you like the styles (it can be the bag shapes, the color combo, the way the model styles the socks, etc) Step 2: Analyze your current wardrobe Essential items everyone have and should have are: jeans, shirts, jackets, shoes, accesories (you need to make clear in which shapes, styles these essential items make you most comfortable and be you. Step 3: Utilize your wardrobe 1. Get a clothing rack: from the analyzed list above, try to find things you have that fit it and hang on the rack to create a physical moodboard (the rack must make you feel good!!!) 2. Modify your inspriration outfits to suit you: stop buying new things to be exactly like the model, you can mix and match your current items to create similar vibes and aesthetics. 3. Turn styling outfits into a game: step out of your comfort zone to set themes and dress up like a movie characters, celebrities, a main character in special events, etc. 4. Pay attention to small things beside outfits like makeup, hair, jewelries, scent - these small details are game-changing; mix and match daily jewelries to create a new one (for example wearing a gold chain with a necklace).
Everything is “trendy” in a way. Street style is trendy, preppy is, old money is, minimalism is, maximalism is. Your always gonna have a group of people with the “same” style as you. And when someone is different, especially with social media, they can get popular. So now it’s like you just wanna be trendy when in reality, you just really like those clothing pieces, the colors, and the style.
When people would say “Why are you so dressed up?” that became the reason why I don’t dress up so much anymore. It’s also the reason why I pretty much wear sweats and a sweater to practically anywhere. Now, I want to change that. And I’m going to!! Thank you for that confidence talk at the end ❤️❤️ This is like two months later and now I’ve gotten out of the “sweats and hoodies” habit. It feels so much better to actually wear what I want 🥰 still working on it!!
@@oo8962 yea, exactly! The only thing is I’m not going to wait until it gets normalized, I’m just gonna do it. But of course, it would be nice if it WAS normalized!!!!
By own style most people mean a style they are most confident with. Not something conpletely original. And by wearing conpletely original Outfits most people feel like a Clown. One has to stay socially acceptad and be able to find and afford clothes after all...
i think youre not understanding they mean something they can enjoy and wear consistently that they can wear anytime and not clothes that they just buy because the outfit was trendy and they’ll never wear again once it dies out
I really liked the editing style it just elevates:・゚✧ with each and every video I guess , like the intro and the confessionals , and like you putting the outfits together. the really good part about the video is making the most out of the closet i.e. with the clothes that you already have . really loved the whole video and as always stay safe sis.
your commentary and advice was amazing but the star of the show was your talent for editing and your personality!!! incredible truly incredible. i haven’t seen a video this amazing in such a long time
I think trying to mimic other styles, especially taking inspiration from different shows and such, is going to be the most helpful for me. I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something that I know works, even if I wouldn't have thought of it for myself. I don't even know what my style is, only what I'm comfortable with. Thanks for actually giving advice that doesn't break the bank or encourage waste!
What I did was I took all the clothes out of my closet, and I put them in one by one by sorting them into different sides: the tops that were my favorite and people have commented "oh that makes u look good" and then the other ones. I then looked at all the favorite ones and look a photo, and whenever I go shopping, I think "would it fit into here" and I slowly keep reducing the other side!
thank you for creating this video istg ive always had no sense of fashion for myself and im finally actually getting a sense of what I like ur a life saver
Also! : its so important about the way you set your clothes on yourself, tucked in shirt, tucked out, low pants, high pants, socks over pants, pants over socks, it really changes the look!
I like the prompt one! Very fun. However, i have had to buy a lot of new clothes because of lifestyle change, going from a place with four seasons to Cali, body changes, and more. So not everyone has 90% of what they need. Working on it though. But do love the message and other points❤
For those who still don't know I wanna suggest you to buy plain tshirt or crop top there's thousands ways to style them you can buy the colours that suits you most and then pair up with jeans and skirts, pants, etc and have one pair of shoes and one pair of sandles to complete your look add some of your favourite jwellery it really helps
at this point im realising my style is very basic. I like simple stuff, simple dainty prints, muted colors. I love brandy melville type of clothes, simple dress pants, simple tees and tanks. Im never gonna be a fashionista and im fine with that.
Thank you for this video! It was very informative and motivational! I also especially enjoyed the little confidence talk at the end! I've been wanting to wear clothes that are significantly different than my normal style but have such a huge mental/confidence block and have a hard time getting out of my comfort zone. This video helped a bit and I'm hoping tomorrow I could try weating something new! :D
The thing is.. all I have in my closet are oversized hoodies and sweatpants.. minus two skirts😭😭😭 I'm sick of it lol that's literally what I've been wearing my whole life and I look like I walk around in my pjs
this is actually such a superpower! i’d recommend spending extra time on her “analyze your board” step. if you know what you like specifically from every aesthetic, you can mix and match uniquely and that’s what makes style!
Hi I'ma go through my process, I'm in a style that's comfy right now and kinda masc but I really want to get into a floral pastel casual type of style, kinda coquette but less "feminine" I'm thinking white, pastel purple, pastel green, and pastel pink, I have a few light pink clothes and I like silhouettes flair out around legs and bottom of the shirt, I'm thinking of getting some of my clothes for Christmas because I don't wanna be crazy with clothes and I'll be able to think it out before I get the clothes, I can diy some jeans and just mess around with sewing and embroidery so I can slowly ease into the style, Started my mood board but will add as I experiment with my fashion sense, not all is fashion and some are just things that remind me of these clothes Creating a small list of things to enhance my fashion Brainstorming ways I can wear clothes I have and up-cycle other items, trying to take a logical approach to the style
I couldn’t possibly make a moodboard bc how do you mix lolita, dystopian, fairycore grunge, masculine, romantic goth, kidcore, kawaii/soft girl, angelcore, alt, futuristic, and y2k into one board???
Clothes is my main problem, like i only have tshirts, polo shirts, skinny jeans, denim skirts And very vey main problem MONEYYYYY And when i try new outfit the clothes looks ugly to me and my mom will make me change my clothes I want modest, simple but elegant style Color matching ir something that outfit connects in color Ex: If the top is white the jacket is pink as well the skirt i would love the bag to be white and shoes to be white or maybe pink
As a pale olive I am so conflicted with colors that I like, such as Brown and Grey which both make me look yellow/green 🫠I want to wear neutrals but I never look good in them except black 😑

The reason why it’s trendy is because lots of people agree with you 😂

We should normalize being dressed up just because we want to. Imagine every street from any country basically become a runway

I find it kind of interesting that every time someone says “here’s how I found my style outside of trends!” their style is extremely trendy.
Makes sense if their still young, they haven’t had the experience to know more about what they truly like
True lol
