DM post actually IAS der janno. 3 states are reserved for DM post from wbcs(exe) cadre. before this government came into power only 1 district was reserved for wbcs(exe) post. tobey akhon number of IAS officers kom thakar janno kichu District e wbcs(exe) der o posting deoya hoeche as a DM.
3. Joint Secretary post e motamuti 4-5yrs. thakle tobey next higher grade paoya jae viz. Special Secretary. or vacancy anujayi more than that.

Special Secretary hobar por wbcs(exe) cadre theke IAS nomination hay jader kina rank uporer dikey thake with respect to vacancy and the officer will be nominated before 55 yrs of age. jodi keu special Secretary hotey 55 yrs. or more time spend kore tobey tini oi post ei retired hoe jaben. From BDO ship to SDO it takes not more than 10 years. But if you count from starting of their service then it is 12 years(as they got trained for 2 years). So this is a wrong information that 12/13 years are required for this .

WBCS EXE is a group A post of West Bengal govt services, starting as a Deputy magistrate and deputy collector (DMDC) @GP5400, After one years training he posted as BDO with additional increament and BDO ship allowances, after 06 years become DMDC(General) @GP6600, after 4 - 6 years become SDO/Deputy Director /Deputy Secretary @GP7600, then become ADM/Joint secretary / director @GP8700, at the last stage he become @GP10000 & above scale as their quality and performance.

Eligible hoy. A committee headed by chief secretary decides based on your ACR ; if u r eligible or not. Finally UPSC reviews everything and tag them into 4 diff categories like outstanding; good ; unfit etc. Central govt though is the cadre controlling authority.

Depends on your interest. I prefer WBCS -A .
From promotional perspective; Gr-B is better; if you like crisis management.
From a different angle ; In Gr -A ; there is a little better work life balance.

First of all,if IAS(by Cracking UPSC) officer is posted in any state then the salary will be decided by the state government and if the officer posted in any union territory then the salary will be decided by the Central Government...
Now Come to your questions: A WBCS Exe officer who is promoted in IAS,Still be a state Government employee and Pay & perks will be decided by the state only.

WBCS থেকে প্রাদনতি হলে IAS এর সমতুল্য হওয়া যায়। কিন্তু তখন ওই অফিসার কে WBCS বলা হবে না IAS বলা হবে। নামের কাছে কি লিখা থাকবে।

Sir for BDO ship or in DMDC can WBCS( exe) officers avail posting near to home districts or within a close proximity.. Good numbers of Executives are seen to work near their adjacent home districts. Just For queries
No surety. At the very start of your career may be no; at later stage definitely possible.
