Honestly what Jennie said “just because you have a dad doesn’t mean you’ll have a good dad.” was always my biggest consolation for not having a dad.. Foster kids have a different kind of heart. My nephews were the sweetest kids, it sucks my sister couldn’t leave her addiction and get them back. It hurts me even more because I wasn’t old enough to gain custody myself during their trial. I’m FINALLY financially stable enough to care for all of them and they’ve already been adopted. All I can do now is wish the best for them and hope to cross paths with them again someday. I couldn’t imagine how hard it was for Elsys mom to lose custody because when my nephews were taken, I was heart broken (and my bond with them is probably nothing compared to a mother/child bond)

Every so often we sit there and crack jokes about our traumas. kind of reminisce and talk about how it made us who we are. My cousins husband hates it because he says “how can you guys laugh about stuff like that” and it’s like either we laugh about it or we are going to sit there and cry and hurt. My mom became a single mom of 4 kids & my two brothers and sister always have in mind that because of her we are who we are today. Granted, only my sister has finished a career, but we are hard workers. My older brother is one of the hardest workers I know he has been working non stop since he was 16. He helped my mom pay for rent, food, bills & put shoes & clothes on us. I remember moving into a small 10x10 room the 5 of us & the lady didn't allow my mom to cook or anything so since my mom worked at El Pollo Loco she would come home with chicken & that's all we ate for a whole month. I just appreciate my mother even more now that I am a mother. Happy Early Mother's Day to all of you beautiful ladies & to your guerrera of a mother. Una chingona de mujer! 😥😘🥰❤❤
