I sold a brand new PC part on ebay that I had still in the bubble wrap for two years listed as returns not accepted. The seller clearly knew nothing about computers and tried to use incompatible memory. Ebay forced me to accept a return leaving me £25 out of pocket. I'm only an occasional private seller.

Ms. Scanlon sounded like she was bought by large broadcasting companies. Google already have an incentive to make money off streaming movies. There's a movie rental in their play store and on UA-cam. On top of that if it wasn't for these large platforms small and low budget independent creator will never get a chance to distribute their contents.

They know the answers. They and their systems were designed with such a hearing as this in mind to be able to talk in circles about. They have apparently thought this out from the very inception of these "giants" how the people would react and how they can defend their (each company's behavior) platforms in the courts. Ie. They know how to use the system against itself. This just doesn't accidently happen. It is carefully thought out and planned from the beginning.

Sounds good on paper, has little practicality and effect if actually followed through.
The biggest issue I see with the premise of this whole hearing, is they are looking at the specifics of how entrepreneurship worked in the past 50 years, and therefore concede that due to current conditions produced by that chain of events (creation of internet, Web 1.0 phase, Web 2.0 phase), entrepreneurship can’t continue functioning in the same way it has in the past. But this limited view isn’t taking the most fundamental thing about entrepreneurship, the innovation of how things are done, into account.
Most new technologies succeeded by attacking tangentially. The thing that replaces google isn’t going to attack google head on and make a better search engine. Just like Henry ford didn’t build a better horse carriage. This is playing out in the crypto/blockchain area right now. Has all the signs, even the fact that people continue to write crypto off as a toy.

The iCloud alert question is a red herring (although the same could be said the same about this whole hearing) - you get an alert to upgrade your iCloud storage when your free 5gb storage is used up, which happens quickly. There is no conspiracy- you can turn off iCloud and use other apps like amazon photos, or the whole google ecosystem.
Yah but older folks get frustrated about having to dodge around that alert. We are not used to having to keep going in and around pay pages. It really struck me down when I no longer had Adobe. It is frustrating to have to be herded on to pay pages. I mean, you walk into a place and they keep trying to get you to pay a cover charge to go to the VIP lounge when you just want to get to the free entryway.

On the most important question, the Fortnite question: They watch rather watch streamers than play than play the game themselves for a number of reasons. 1) because the streamers are often better than them and it's nice to watch someone who's actually winning as opposed to losing all the time in a highly competitive game 2) Because streamers are often experienced and can draw on the experiences of a large and critical audience they are a good way to learn about the deeper aspects of the game an individual player won't likely learn on their own through gameplay 3) it requires no emotional investment, focus or energy to watch a competitive game but playing one can be surprisingly draining to the point that I have been lead with other games to question why I do it to relax. 4) Streamers are in the entertainment business and tend to have personalities that are entertaining to listen to, so it's a kind of entertainment where you are entertained by the person entertaining themselves to entertain you.

Two were importer wholesalers 100% legit and both got shut down with demanding price lower and then had 25-30% of their net income froze for weeks. months?.......In other simple terms, .. Two of my friends that could not meet their demands to lower their price, they just put their account on lock while they froze money for a month or more.. One was like 12K another was over 50K .. and nothing to do while amazon except email only complains. ...@1:35:30 is it in a nut shell... You can't do Amazon'z price demand they just hit you with fees, lock you down, and then freeze your money.. Personally knowing this, as well as owning 2 business , one 29 years, and my very first at 11 y.o.-19 y.o I talk ever friend that wants to be amazon seller .no..no.no.

I think part of the monopoly comes from consumer use and ignorance. Name recognition of these platforms has people just go to them and don't really know the options or the intricacies of navigating in these large and complex services as some of the questions indicate. Consumers are partly responsible for the monopolies. It's a self fulfilling cycle. It's like Walmart or Home Depot in the brick and mortar world. They are known and big and people just go to them.
