Knowing to anticipate it is the most helpful thing. I have so many people around me who keep questioning whether I feed my baby enough. I know I feed him enough. He has plenty of wet nappies, he's visibly gaining weight, and he looks satisfied after feeds. But, especially at the beginning (first week), I was starting to doubt myself. During my hospital stay, I was advised by midwives to top up with formula because my baby was feeding on and off and being fussy for over 2 hours one night and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Looking back, I think I was just struggling to latch him on properly that time, but it really made me doubt myself. Even now, when people qiestion whether he's eaten properly or when he cluster feeds at night, I don't doubt my supply. I try to ignore what people say and preserve through the sleeplessness. I definitely would have been much more stressed out if I didn't know about cluster feeds.
I’m so glad you knew more about what to expect going into your breastfeeding journey and that you trusted yourself in the process- it is incredibly hard especially with all of the well intended comments from others that can make us completely doubt ourselves! 🤍🤍

Going through the cluster feeding now with my 3 day old 😮💨 I am sooooo tired but trying to stay positive.
