Nice to see you working on this 4x4 again. I thought I heard you say elsewhere you’d sold it to a mate as you found it wasn’t the best for picking your lad up, no cruise control, tyre noise etc? Now you got it back it’s was eye opening to see how black the autobox fluid was and a good heads up also about the importance of genuine parts. Looking forward to updates after a drive out in it. 👍

Me and Chris work in a way of I always get first chance of it back when he wants to move it on, same when I take a car from him, so I do t really see it as sold so to speak lol. Yes very important to change automatic gear oil, every one I do looks like this, as always new or old cars I always use genuine parts safety comes before cost IMO
Hi Dan As a new Freelander owner I would like to have seen you do the bit n bob on the Freelander. As when you watch other doing the job, you always pick up little tips. The fact that you have done these jobs on other car is of NO help to those that watch because of the Freelander. Imagen watch a person saying in a cooking program, saying well I cooked a cake last week so I will not show you do this one. I not a moaning minnie, but if you don't want to give a project the time. Then why share it in the first place. Keep up your good work on "other video".
I have just been back and looked and I did 7 videos on the Freelander, that’s a lot more than a usually do. I don’t claim to do full strip down restoration projects, I simply buy a car, save it for example as this one was on it’s way to scrap, improve on it…. Use it as my family car, then when something else comes along, or someone who I know will look after it offers to buy it, I let it go…… I’m not a millionaire I can’t hang onto everything, nor do I have any storage bar my drive way, nor at any point do a make a claim or insinuate that I’m going to do a full strip down restoration on any car, I do the jobs that are required to make it safe to use, then improve on it, for example everything I did with Freelander….. if I had of spent anymore money on it i would have been massively out of pocket, if I did that on everyone of my cars I would be broke. Like said my channel is about keeping things simple, I don’t use a fancy camera or tri pods only my mobile phone in my hand, I don’t have a laptop to edit with, again use free apps on my phone, what all takes up masses of my free time I should be spending with my family….. incase you don’t realise I get very very little for doing this, this is more or less a non profit channel. Plus a lot of jobs I do, are within small windows off free time I get, within working hours, so I usually have to crack on and get them done before the next job comes in, so quite often like I make clear to everyone, crack on get the jobs done and explain/show the views on another video…. As I’m sure you can understand a job takes more than double the time when your filming/talking, so that has to be considered as well. I do what I can, it’s all free I ask nothing from nobody, don’t get paid from sponsors or anything. I give out my experienced advice most tradesmen wouldn’t do, in my own free time and get paid next to nothing….. can’t really offer anything more unfortunately.

Yeah with an automatic and working 4x4 25/30mpg is all you will get urban, on a long drive 40mpg
