hong lu has like the most busted and flexible id that is useful and essential to most team ,but the trade off is every single ego of his are near complete dogshit except for dimension sherder

Hong Lu can only be bad in things he doesn't have. In any other case, he is one the best man at it's job. Best support passives, one of the better bleed ids, coolest drips known to mankind, the fattest hp - you name it - Hong Lu is gonna be good with it.
Tbf, the effect is strong enough that it makes me want to take hong lu on a tremor team just for the ego. I'm sure I won't miss such lovely IDs as Rosespanner Meursault and Boatworks Sinclair in that 6th slot

Blubberbubble seems very good for Zwei Rodion and Zwei Sinclair, two IDs that ESGLOOM is going to have to deal with in probably every Worst ID Railway Run... So maybe some sanity can be retained
The same thing is bygone days. It released the week before the release of Linton Gregor. More than that Ryoshu got a sinking ego while STILL not having sinking id This is a common occurrence mate
Bygone days Gregor had effects that helped outside a sinking team as in he had sanity restore which was more usefull since it replaced the spot that only had lantern ego prior and it was fucking FREE
I understand the idea behind "it's a common occurrence, just get over it" but it doesn't make it any less annoying when you are not sure if an EGO will get actual support. Bygone Days got lucky, getting a Sinking Gregor pretty much immediately. Both Sodas have been extremely unlucky, and 4th Match Flame Yi Sang...lmao. BP EGO are also just less flexible than EGO banners, so I give them more of a pass. Except 4th Match Flame Yi Sang, since that shit has been around since the dawn of time.
And either way you just can choose to not pull for glupo hong lu and shard hiim next time when Hong Lu actually gets a Tremor ID (and let's be fair pulling for egos is a dumb idea) But overall you're not wrong and your arguments are valid

Honestly I really don't get the complaints with characters having an E.G.O. without corresponding IDs. Like yeah it would be nice but characters don't exist in a vacuum. For example: It doesn't matter if Rodion Is using a sinking ID or not. Rime Shank will still obliterate everything as long as the team supports it.
Not going to lie, I honestly wouldn't mind more shorter jokey videos like this where you just quickly make your point then leave. As fun as your detailed video essays are sometimes you just need the conclusion and people who know the game would already know where you are coming from. Not every topic need to be at least 10 mins long and that is fine.
I feel like they were cooking something up to release this week but then are pushing it back. The last two identity releases requiring changes gave them fear I think. The last time they did a double ego banner, and also the last time they released an ego banner *instead* of an identity (rather than while an identity banner is running), was dimension shredder, because they had to delay season 2 so much. I think they fell behind whatever their scheduled plan was, and they fully know that nobody is excited for ego banners. We are going to get something good next week (maybe in 2 weeks)

I honestly just don’t care that an ego was introduced for a sinner that doesn’t have an id based on that specific status effect. Not all egos need to have an id that corresponds with what that id does. You could just use him for that unique tremor effect.
My Guess? Time Killing Time might have a tremor Hong Lu, and that event could very well happen the week after this. If there's only a one week gap, then it might not be too bad.

Not like Sinclair really needs the Sinking ID for Toad EGO. The main appeal is the shield stuff right now in which case uhhh, It's a Gloom EGO and Phillipclair (Gloom S1) with his 42 rolling Guard makes it work clearly :)
I mean, yeah I agree completely... If I had to guess, P-Moon's intent is to get people hyped for future IDs that'll synergize with these E.G.O, which isn't a bad idea on paper, but, because P-Moon takes so long to actually _release_ said synergistic IDs, the reaction is less "Oh cool, we're getting an ID that'll work with this next!" and more "Oh, oh we don't have anything we can use this with, here's hoping that changes this Season at least..." Like, they did better with Wishing Cairn Don, as we got Blade Lineage Don relatively quickly after that, and there was also the fact that N Don existed, who could also use it since it has Bleed and Tremor Burst, so, it did something before its intended ID came out, the Poise Don. Here though, as you said, there is no Tremor Hong Lu, and this E.G.O doesn't even have any secondary effects that let it work on an existing Hong Lu. The only use case I can think of for it at the moment is, on a Ring team that's decided to lean in on Tremor and be a Bleed/Tremor hybrid, on like, Hook Office Hong Lu or Tingtang. But even then, if you're using Hong Lu on a Ring Team, you want to use Hong Lu's Roseate Desire for that sweet sweet Lust Fragility on the Passive, since, the Ring is great at Lust, and N Faust synergizes super well, so you want lots of Lust for her Passive anyway. And like, that's one of the two main places that Roseate Desire is useful in, (the second being select Pierce/Lust weak Stations with lots of enemies in the Railway, (Pallid Mermaids Wave 1,)) so you wouldn't even want to bring this E.G.O there over Roseate. ...All that being said, this E.G.O _will_ be great to have once we have a Tremor Hong Lu, probably, and I am looking forward to that happening. But at the same time, I agree with your main point, and, P-Moon, really should stop waiting ages to release IDs to go with E.G.O. Even if we _do_ get the matching ID soon after the E.G.O, like with Wishing Cairn Don, the community doesn't expect that to happen, so the hype P-Moon presumably wants to generate, does not get generated. Main fixes for that would be, P-Moon either committing to always releasing the matching ID directly after the E.G.O, and building up community faith by doing that many, many times in a row, or just, releasing the IDs first then the E.G.O.
My theory is that Time Killing Time will have a Tremor Hong Lu ID but for some reason they had to delay it so they droppes this before it even though it looks like it should've come after
I get the feeling they release EGOs like these to give people who want to make mish-mash teams that have sinners for multiple purposes (off the dome I'm imagining putting the Wailing EGO on K Corp Hong Lu and then sticking him with the Rosespanner team)
I mean I can see it being useful in the context of bringing someone like tingtang hong lu with a tremor team since that ID doesn't otherwise have much status synergy (aside from bleed, but he doesn't NEED to be on a bleed team), but yeah this EGO ain't great. ...can't wait to replace branch of knowledge though, that's what's important here.
Hong Lu not having a Tremor ID sucks (and not being able to even proc the E.G.O passive without using it again double sucks) but honestly- are there enough *really* good Tremor IDs that it would be a net negative to replace one in a given team with Dieci Lu? Especially because I figure the E.G.O will need Gloom and Sloth, which that ID has both of. He definitely could use a Tremor ID, but as long as numerically the E.G.O is good then Tremor teams probably would benefit a lot from getting to have that powerhouse on their team.

It would be hilarious to see Tremor Reverb combined with Molar Outis, but is it worth giving up a slot that could have another actual Tremor ID in? I feel like the intent with Soda Ryoshu is that she was to be a hard counter to crabs. Pierce/Gloom is a 4x fatal attack on the crabs. But in the case that it just barely doesn't kill them, if it's on a crab that does have sinking thanks to Molar Ishmael, it would reduce the power of their Counter attack. But I don't think the crabs were ever that dangerous to begin with, just incredibly annoying.
Jokes aside, why should an EGO necessarily have a compatible ID to be interesting? Poise I get it, I mean there aren't any consistent way to spread poise *on* the sinners... but Tremor can.

This really was just one of the "i'm not angry; I'm just disappointed" video posts of all time, huh? Don't worry; as a Tremor and Poise fan, I've been disappointed for a while that Hong Lu doesn't have either.
To be fair, there is a half-decent change that Hong Lu gets a Tremor ID immediately after this E.G.O's release. The "Time Killing Time" event is probably going to be next week, and he's one of the three Sinners featured on the teaser image.
I also want to point out dimension shredder came out before he had a charge Id but it’s still definitely usable outside of charge itself but it’s interesting he gets many egos before his ids
This might be an unpopular opinion, but people saying the EGO is bad or useless just because the sinner doesn't have an ID with the keyword is a bit too harsh. A status team doesn't fully need every ID to have the respective keyword. Hong Lu still has options with W-Corp providing charge barrier for Rosespanner or K Corp for Gluttony resources and just being a solid tank ID. Yes, this EGO would perform much better with a Tremor ID but it's not completely useless and opens up some team building options until we get a Tremor ID for Hong Lu.
I mean that’s kinda fine but the problem also arises that IDs in an archetype synergies with each other and often cover for each others weaknesses (also having a poise reliant ego and no poise ID just means you literally can’t use the on crit effect so…), tremor and burn don’t suffer as much from this since they only really need a little count per turn to keep up their status but rupture sinking and bleed ABSOLUTELY want nothing to do with IDs that don’t contribute to their status, having a bleed EGO but no bleed ID is almost worse then having no bleed EGO at all. Because your just going to have a dead ID who can’t clash without going extremely minus (it’s even worse for rupture and sinking since those lose count on HIT) most of these statuses are count hungry and if you can’t contribute to that in some way or don’t offer any reliable (key word there EGO is innately unreliable as it’s a pseudo finite resource you can’t always have access to) then that’s a huge problem.
@@Lh0000 i see your point and I definitely agree. When you want to stack statuses like Rupture and Sinking, going count negative is something you want to avoid if you're trying to stack it. You can still run these teams without all the keyword IDs, the team just plays differently. If you don't run a full sinking team, you can just run a small hybrid team with other statuses since sinking just becomes free sanity / gloom damage (If you're not going for Sinking Deluge) and Rupture is also free damage that bypasses resistances (Though Rupture stacking is far better). Keeping in mind conditionals and sin affinities can lead to some interesting team building. Things like Resonance teams are a good example. I think the fun comes in finding an ID that works in your status team in their own way outside of just "they inflict sinking" unless you're building the team around just stacking.
@Lh0000 If this EGO wasn't tremor and was Poise (which would be kinda dumb), there are ways to get the On Crit through support like Captain Ishmael with Blind Obsession or Blade Lineage Don though the real question comes down to whether payoff is worth it. Tremor Reverb is very good where as On Crit Soda Hong Lu is almost nothing.

Like it’s not a matter of “playing it differently” it’s more “you are actively gimping yourself and making both archetype worse” hybridizing sucks unless the ID actually synergizes with both, which uh… to this day none of them really do. In every instance the other is at best a minor bonus to something they actually want to do. This is especially true if your running actual units that want a specific status like the butlers or liu who basically can’t function outside of their archetype because their rolls are gimped below certain amounts.
I am happy that Blubberbubble gives some shield support, hopefully it’s fueled enough by the Zwei. It seems like it would help Zwei Rodya, but also the already pretty well off Dieci so we we will see…

this sinclair id is going to be absurd on Dawn office fixer sinclair, calling it now not only do we FINALLY get an ego to replace branch of knowledge, which literally just kills all sinclairs that aren't N, this ego's blubberbubble synergizes extremely well with Rue, since Rue can roll an absurd 40 with conditionals, so RETAINING that shield PER skill is great
So... Am I to assume that Hong Lu just everyone else's support? Edit: Or... You know... We might get a Hong Lu tremor/poise ID soon. I really hope we do, even if it's just so that all of this makes sense in some way

My thought when the egos were first revealed: First off, Sinclair does not have a good Sinking ID… he has Mariachi… and second off, as long as neither have tremor because I feel like one is gonna have tremor we’ll be fine Me after Kits revealed: Wow… both of these are useless, well they’re useful if they ever get an ID that can fulfill its conditions (Like a Dieci Sinclair and a Oufi or Rosepanner Hong Lu) But in the near future? Not likely.

Not going to lie, I honestly wouldn't mind more shorter jokey videos like this where you just quickly make your point then leave. As fun as your detailed video essays are sometimes you just need the conclusion and people who know the game would already know where you are coming from. Not every topic need to be at least 10 mins long and that is fine.
I feel like they were cooking something up to release this week but then are pushing it back. The last two identity releases requiring changes gave them fear I think. The last time they did a double ego banner, and also the last time they released an ego banner *instead* of an identity (rather than while an identity banner is running), was dimension shredder, because they had to delay season 2 so much. I think they fell behind whatever their scheduled plan was, and they fully know that nobody is excited for ego banners. We are going to get something good next week (maybe in 2 weeks)

I honestly just don’t care that an ego was introduced for a sinner that doesn’t have an id based on that specific status effect. Not all egos need to have an id that corresponds with what that id does. You could just use him for that unique tremor effect.
My Guess? Time Killing Time might have a tremor Hong Lu, and that event could very well happen the week after this. If there's only a one week gap, then it might not be too bad.

Not like Sinclair really needs the Sinking ID for Toad EGO. The main appeal is the shield stuff right now in which case uhhh, It's a Gloom EGO and Phillipclair (Gloom S1) with his 42 rolling Guard makes it work clearly :)

I mean, yeah I agree completely... If I had to guess, P-Moon's intent is to get people hyped for future IDs that'll synergize with these E.G.O, which isn't a bad idea on paper, but, because P-Moon takes so long to actually _release_ said synergistic IDs, the reaction is less "Oh cool, we're getting an ID that'll work with this next!" and more "Oh, oh we don't have anything we can use this with, here's hoping that changes this Season at least..."
Like, they did better with Wishing Cairn Don, as we got Blade Lineage Don relatively quickly after that, and there was also the fact that N Don existed, who could also use it since it has Bleed and Tremor Burst, so, it did something before its intended ID came out, the Poise Don.
Here though, as you said, there is no Tremor Hong Lu, and this E.G.O doesn't even have any secondary effects that let it work on an existing Hong Lu. The only use case I can think of for it at the moment is, on a Ring team that's decided to lean in on Tremor and be a Bleed/Tremor hybrid, on like, Hook Office Hong Lu or Tingtang. But even then, if you're using Hong Lu on a Ring Team, you want to use Hong Lu's Roseate Desire for that sweet sweet Lust Fragility on the Passive, since, the Ring is great at Lust, and N Faust synergizes super well, so you want lots of Lust for her Passive anyway. And like, that's one of the two main places that Roseate Desire is useful in, (the second being select Pierce/Lust weak Stations with lots of enemies in the Railway, (Pallid Mermaids Wave 1,)) so you wouldn't even want to bring this E.G.O there over Roseate.
...All that being said, this E.G.O _will_ be great to have once we have a Tremor Hong Lu, probably, and I am looking forward to that happening. But at the same time, I agree with your main point, and, P-Moon, really should stop waiting ages to release IDs to go with E.G.O. Even if we _do_ get the matching ID soon after the E.G.O, like with Wishing Cairn Don, the community doesn't expect that to happen, so the hype P-Moon presumably wants to generate, does not get generated.
Main fixes for that would be, P-Moon either committing to always releasing the matching ID directly after the E.G.O, and building up community faith by doing that many, many times in a row, or just, releasing the IDs first then the E.G.O.

I mean I can see it being useful in the context of bringing someone like tingtang hong lu with a tremor team since that ID doesn't otherwise have much status synergy (aside from bleed, but he doesn't NEED to be on a bleed team), but yeah this EGO ain't great.

Hong Lu not having a Tremor ID sucks (and not being able to even proc the E.G.O passive without using it again double sucks) but honestly- are there enough *really* good Tremor IDs that it would be a net negative to replace one in a given team with Dieci Lu? Especially because I figure the E.G.O will need Gloom and Sloth, which that ID has both of.
He definitely could use a Tremor ID, but as long as numerically the E.G.O is good then Tremor teams probably would benefit a lot from getting to have that powerhouse on their team.

It would be hilarious to see Tremor Reverb combined with Molar Outis, but is it worth giving up a slot that could have another actual Tremor ID in?
I feel like the intent with Soda Ryoshu is that she was to be a hard counter to crabs. Pierce/Gloom is a 4x fatal attack on the crabs. But in the case that it just barely doesn't kill them, if it's on a crab that does have sinking thanks to Molar Ishmael, it would reduce the power of their Counter attack.
But I don't think the crabs were ever that dangerous to begin with, just incredibly annoying.
Jokes aside, why should an EGO necessarily have a compatible ID to be interesting?
Poise I get it, I mean there aren't any consistent way to spread poise *on* the sinners... but Tremor can.

To be fair, there is a half-decent change that Hong Lu gets a Tremor ID immediately after this E.G.O's release.

I also want to point out dimension shredder came out before he had a charge Id but it’s still definitely usable outside of charge itself but it’s interesting he gets many egos before his ids

This might be an unpopular opinion, but people saying the EGO is bad or useless just because the sinner doesn't have an ID with the keyword is a bit too harsh. A status team doesn't fully need every ID to have the respective keyword. Hong Lu still has options with W-Corp providing charge barrier for Rosespanner or K Corp for Gluttony resources and just being a solid tank ID. Yes, this EGO would perform much better with a Tremor ID but it's not completely useless and opens up some team building options until we get a Tremor ID for Hong Lu.
I mean that’s kinda fine but the problem also arises that IDs in an archetype synergies with each other and often cover for each others weaknesses (also having a poise reliant ego and no poise ID just means you literally can’t use the on crit effect so…), tremor and burn don’t suffer as much from this since they only really need a little count per turn to keep up their status but rupture sinking and bleed ABSOLUTELY want nothing to do with IDs that don’t contribute to their status, having a bleed EGO but no bleed ID is almost worse then having no bleed EGO at all. Because your just going to have a dead ID who can’t clash without going extremely minus (it’s even worse for rupture and sinking since those lose count on HIT) most of these statuses are count hungry and if you can’t contribute to that in some way or don’t offer any reliable (key word there EGO is innately unreliable as it’s a pseudo finite resource you can’t always have access to) then that’s a huge problem.
Like if this was almost anything other then tremor this EGO would actually be unusable.
@@Lh0000 i see your point and I definitely agree. When you want to stack statuses like Rupture and Sinking, going count negative is something you want to avoid if you're trying to stack it. You can still run these teams without all the keyword IDs, the team just plays differently. If you don't run a full sinking team, you can just run a small hybrid team with other statuses since sinking just becomes free sanity / gloom damage (If you're not going for Sinking Deluge) and Rupture is also free damage that bypasses resistances (Though Rupture stacking is far better). Keeping in mind conditionals and sin affinities can lead to some interesting team building. Things like Resonance teams are a good example. I think the fun comes in finding an ID that works in your status team in their own way outside of just "they inflict sinking" unless you're building the team around just stacking.
@Lh0000 If this EGO wasn't tremor and was Poise (which would be kinda dumb), there are ways to get the On Crit through support like Captain Ishmael with Blind Obsession or Blade Lineage Don though the real question comes down to whether payoff is worth it. Tremor Reverb is very good where as On Crit Soda Hong Lu is almost nothing.
@@Wrew-c4t3 yeah you CAN do it, but your always better of not doing so. Like it’s not a matter of “playing it differently” it’s more “you are actively gimping yourself and making both archetype worse” hybridizing sucks unless the ID actually synergizes with both, which uh… to this day none of them really do. In every instance the other is at best a minor bonus to something they actually want to do. This is especially true if your running actual units that want a specific status like the butlers or liu who basically can’t function outside of their archetype because their rolls are gimped below certain amounts.
I am happy that Blubberbubble gives some shield support, hopefully it’s fueled enough by the Zwei. It seems like it would help Zwei Rodya, but also the already pretty well off Dieci so we we will see…

not only do we FINALLY get an ego to replace branch of knowledge, which literally just kills all sinclairs that aren't N, this ego's blubberbubble synergizes extremely well with Rue, since Rue can roll an absurd 40 with conditionals, so RETAINING that shield PER skill is great

My thought when the egos were first revealed: First off, Sinclair does not have a good Sinking ID… he has Mariachi… and second off, as long as neither have tremor because I feel like one is gonna have tremor we’ll be fine
Me after Kits revealed: Wow… both of these are useless, well they’re useful if they ever get an ID that can fulfill its conditions (Like a Dieci Sinclair and a Oufi or Rosepanner Hong Lu) But in the near future? Not likely.
