Love u gman but your way behind been flipping drop shots on light or heavier line for years on highland resevoirs and its a staple fishing outside grass lines in florida but its nothing new and a blue and gold flake smoke black slim senko is the best bef bait in the country on a drop shot texas rigged that color they will not let sit over there bed period idc where u are

Why don’t you put the sinker with the pointed side down to get through the grass better?
When u pitch it out, stop the reel just before it starts falling downward and it will flip your bait down to get through better...with some practice

If you are cutting the swivel in half, why don’t you just use a tiny split ring?

I do the same setup but instead of a swivel i use a bead for kids necklace to stop the weight.

Add a bob stop above the knot on the swivel to protect that knot. Won’t loose any weights. Tungsten is expensive.
