    We started using our home made cannabis extract about 2 years ago. My mother who is 70 recently had blood tests done and the doctor was proud to tell her that the medication he gave her was lowering her colesterol. She didn't have the heart to tell him she never used the stuff and never filled the prescription. She had been using the cannabis for severe back pain and it treates two issues at the same time. Cannabis all the way baby.

    A three part stainless steel double boiler works very well too, you reclaim about 75%. Pairing it with an induction stove to prevent sparks is also a good idea. To be certain to purge the solvent I like to place the reduction in an oven safe dish and bake at 230F for 3 hours. When the oil stops producing bubbles it's both purged and decarboxylate.

    I been doing this for 40 years, Everclear Ch4 is what to use. We called it either Hash oil, or as he made it out of weed it's Weed oil. Don't evaporate over a gas stove as Ch4 fumes are extremely flammable. Mix oil when it's hot off of the evaporation method you choose, with more weed and putting the weed in the oil vessel and stir, then smoke in your pipe or rolled into joints, which we called "Oilers" or not and smoke it in an oil pipe which we didn't have back when. Use a Pyrex measuring vessel for all the stages. Beginning to end where you are heating the "Product"

    Very informative video. I like the idea of recapturing the alcohol with the distiller... but doesn't the distiller heat at a temperature that would damage the turpenes, and other desirable materials? I'd read that you should remove the alcohol at as low a temperature as possible. In researching the distillers, their temperature shutoff is quite high. Thanks.

    • @jamieanan-ua5994
      @jamieanan-ua5994 5 років тому +4

      Most turpenes vaporize at the same temp as the THC around 347F. Water distills at 212F so the turpenes should be safe. And since the coffe maker's burner doesnt get above 212 you wont have to worry about losing anything good when youre burning off the remaining alcohol😉

    One thing everyone seems to skip is how to effectively transfer your end product (RSO or what have you..) from bowl/pan/etc to something a little more viable for dosing etc (e.g. syringe). Obviously the end product is super concentrated and I find there is a fair amount that gets wasted as it "sticks" to surfaces etc. Anyone have an idea on how to do this? I am thinking some sort of syringe that is heat resistance that you could evaporate the ethanol off in and then you would be left with your concentrate all ready to go in the syringe.

    • @EndocaCBD
      @EndocaCBD  5 років тому +5

      Good question, there would be some that would remain in the container at the end that you would have to use from there, but using a syringe it would be relatively easy to suck up majority of the end result for easier dosing

      you can pull it up in a syringe. And what is stuck to the bowl itself, if you add coconut fat you can use it in that format or scrape it on to a smoking paper, assuming you smoke it at some point.

      I have a very small bottlesystem with a pull-up syringe, I got it from a vet when my cat needed medication. It works perfectly. I keep filling it fromout a bigger bottle. When it's done yes there is some 'waste' sticking to the inside of the bottles and the filling syringe but I use that for making tea. just pour or pull-up small amounts of hot-not-boiling water in until the bottle is clean, mix with fat milk or some butter and eventually some other tea.

    Does the alcohol decarb the CBD-A into CBD? (EDIT: No it does not). Cannabis used to make oil, tinctures as well as other edible cannabis products requires decarboxylation. The product you made is CBD-A and not CBD, unless you think the 24hrs on the coffee machine provided enough heat to decarb it, but no. At least mention decarboxylation.
    If the cannabis is heated too much, we run the risk of vaporizing and losing some of the important cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids which have medicinal properties. At the same time we want remove the CO2 as quickly and effectively as possible.

    • @fifteenbyfive
      @fifteenbyfive 6 років тому +1

      It'll decarboxylate at room temperature in open air. This natural aging process (e.g. "curing") is rapidly accelerated by heating. They have both raw hemp extract (CBD + CBDa) or not (CBD only) available. As was mentioned repeatedly in the video the point of the 24 hrs on the coffee burner is not to decarboxylate the extract it's to remove the solvent.

    • @astilen5647
      @astilen5647 6 років тому +1

      Im not saying not to remove the solvent over 24hrs on a coffee burner, thats important. Im saying that patients watching this video will be making CBDA which wont help them medically and they may depend on it. Heres whats missing : Put the herb in the oven for 25 minutes at 220 degrees Fahrenheit, now the CBDA has become CBD and you are ready to mix it with alcohol in a bowl and carry on as shown in the video.
      The title of the video is CBD oil not CBDA oil. In the rare case that a patient actually needs CBDA, they should consider consuming the herb raw instead of spending money and time making oil.
      Of course, respect to endoca for helping people make their own medicine.

    • @fifteenbyfive
      @fifteenbyfive 6 років тому

      24 hours at 160 degF is useless, but 20 minutes at 220 degF is all it takes! Alrighty then glad you've got the curve all figured out due to your many years of experience. Maybe you should upload a video showcasing your CBD oil along with some lab verified proof of results? If not, then where's the randomized, double blind, placebo controlled studies on raw hemp oil vs cooked hemp oil? I"m all eyeballs.

    • @astilen5647
      @astilen5647 6 років тому +1

      Yes 160F is very suboptimal, you are freeing so little CBD that it not medical or economical. And room temperature you mentioned earlier made me laugh. Endoca products are of course top quality CBD as they use CO2 extraction with pressured air, its just their demonstration in this video that is incomplete.

    • @fifteenbyfive
      @fifteenbyfive 6 років тому

      160 degrees is also speculation. A carafe burner might be 200+ degrees. Room temperature shouldn't make you laugh when that's how buds are cured. And wild hemp has time to age a lot longer than the freshly harvested buds grown in the "How To" guides you've probably read where this 220 degrees in the oven optimal business makes more sense. One can grow buds faster, fatter and more potent than what they're going to get outdoors which is subject to the weather. So if our case is the optimal, there's all kinds of ways to make the case here. That's not the point of the video obviously. How much CBDa is in this final product is speculation at best. Again unless you have evidence showing otherwise which you haven't provided yet so I assume you don't.

    The reason is so expensive is due to insane initial costs (machinery costs around 400 000€ for co2 extraction, per machine, and they have small turnaround), then there's running costs, as these use a lot of power, require a factory, test lab facilities, etc. also many countries have ridiculous requirements such as PhD in farmaceuticals, PhD in botanics, and PhD in production process that needs to be on a constant payroll, in order for the company to "be of medical standards"
    The real reason is so that everyday ppl don't start producing it, because, well you are supposed to be a slave, not a businessman.
    That's why I strongly suggest to follow this man's advice , and make your own. There's plenty farmers who legally grow commercial cannabis wich on average contains 2-6 % CBD, and the flowers are a waste byproduct for them, so you can get kilos for very little money or free depending on your social skills. There's also strains available which contain 18% cbd and 0.2% thc, so if grown illegally do not make you a drug criminal, but a felon for growing cannabis without a permit. Just my 2 cents good folks.

    your method of ethanol extraction has some advantages in that you can reuse your solvents.but adding heat from the cofee maker heat pad makes the extract dark.
    one could skip the heater part and use vacume.
    but if you dont have a vacume you can skip the heat and put a small fan on it and your extract will stay nice and pale and not get dark.

    Very good presentation thank you.
    Though should have done a close up on the burn test, to show the viewer how the quality fail test looks like...

      Well, the fail test is simply if there is a spark, it needs to be heated longer to evaporate the remaining alcohol :)

    Mind me asking what the reason for using ice cold ethanol instead of just room temperature or even slightly above, I would have thought a slightly warmer ethanol would help leach the oils out much better and quicker? I’m not a pro so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.. 😷

    This is great, but if you want a very pure CBD sample you will need to do some type of distillation to separate the CBD from the THC and other cannaboids like CGD or whatever

    I think my mom need this, but I can't do nothing because my country still banned this thing.
    She had a syndrome for 2 years called MDS and the medicine can't stabilize the condition.
    I don't know what to do anymore :(
