I bought a Yeti 3000 after Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico. I decided to learn about NMC. They are really good. I cycle my Yeti between thirty five and seventy five percent. After three years and five months it still charges up to ninety percent. I am completely satisfied with the Yeti. I am excited to see the new Yeti 6000. I would buy it. Thanks GZ guys.
The 3000 is $3000!!! I dont think anyone could afford that. A gas/propane generator is up to 3 times more powerful and can run longer as long as you have fuel, and that under $1200. I Another question is does the Yeti come with solar panels, answer is no. SO thats another expense.
@@VinnieGinCA these things have a big advantage over gas though. you can keep them in the house while its running, so if you dont need to run something big this is ideal. even if you leave the gas generator outside and run an extention cord inside, the noise of the gas generator gets super annoying
Simple question. No one will use an iron or blender during an emergency. What we will use is the REFRIDGERATOR, LAMPS and TV. If all 3 are plugged into a Yeti 1400, how long can they run, considering typical side by side fridge and flat screen tv?
Great question, I'd like to know, too. I haven't been able to get a definitive answer yet, but do have some info to share which you may find helpful. The average refrigerator pulls around 800 watts (but doesn't run continuously, it cycles), each light bulb will pull 60 or 100 watts (however it's marked) unless you use LEDs, which sip power (15 watts used to approximate a 60 watt incandescent). An average laptop can pull around 30 watts. So you can add these up for your total "run draw" (# of watts used when all are running) to determine how many watts you will need (e.g. 1250, 1400, 2200, 3000 or higher). But don't forget refrigerators use a "surge draw," meaning when the compressor first kicks on, it will draw 50-100% more power for a couple of minutes until it gets going. So your "surge draw" will be significant higher than your "run" draw." For example, if your refrigerator uses 800 watts, it will *actually* use 1200-1600 watts when it first kicks on, quickly dropping down to 800 as it gets going. So be sure you pick a Yeti with not only a high enough "run draw," but also a high enougb "surge draw." As I recall, my Yeti 1250 can provide 1200 (not 1250) watts of continuous power, and has a surge capacity of 1500 watts. So it can handle my 800 watt refrigerator kicking on without blowing a fuse. But I better not be using another 400 watts for other devices when the refrigerator kicks on, or I could blow a fuse.
Hi Joel, I use a Yeti 400 (non-lithium). Yes, you can charge and use it at the same time I'm charging it and powering my router, CD changer, Zoom H6 as I write this comment. I am not currently charging my laptop with , but I just did. I am hoping to get a bigger model so I can power my fridge, oven, and toaster as well.
Great video! I made a similar video testing a few different items as well as the Boulder 100 for input power. You should consider making a video showing your solar panels plugged into the PWM and MPPT charge controllers and showing the differences in efficiencies! I love my Yeti 1400! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Tyler, Thank you for the suggestion. We'll be sure to show the panels and the MPPT vs PWM differences in a future video. Thank you for your support!

I would like to know if I could run my 5000 BTU window air-conditioner and how long? I'm hoping to use a goal zero to cool my camper van and even cook with it on an induction stove. I'm not a fan of propane in a camper

Look up the math on how things like this work, (watts = volts x amps) and most all equipment have normal running watts but also have start up wattage requirements (2-3 x normal operating watts) just to get things like motors spinning. Without knowing all these quantities, but looking at what you want to run I would say possibly for about 25 minutes before you are completely out of usable power (do not drain your batteries 100% ever!) if it starts it at all.
GREAT VIDEO BECAUSE I WAS LOOKING FOR A POWER STATION ON MY MOBILE OFFICE TO RUN A 32" TV, AND A LAPTOP THANK YOU... I WAS WONDERING HOW MUCH TIME I WOULD GET, I WISH I SAW THE TV RUN ON THE 1000 AND SEE THE TIME IT WOULD LAST
Thanks for the kind words. All you really need to do to find out how long an item would run for on our Yeti 1000 would be to take the wattage of the Yeti 1000, which is 1000 watts, and divide it by the wattage of your tv. This will give you the runtime before it drained the Yeti to empty.

I want to buy the Yeti 1500 but I have one question. Does it say anywhere that you can daisy-chain 2 or more YETI power systems together or, I can only run each YETI separately? If I can only run each YETI separately, do you sell an alternate lithium battery as an accessory to attach to a YETI for extra power?
Hey Neil, Why can't your production keep up with customer demand? Waiting 3 months for accessories? Most of them out of stock? 15 minutes on hold for "agents that are busy."
Do yo have a video on the solar panels to charge your goal zero? The panels are slow to charge and its a shame you can only input a max of 22v. Do enjoy my unit but it does have its limitations.
Is this company still in business? I've seriously been considering the 3000 watt power station but can never get anyone live on your customer service and they don't bother to ever respond to email and I've tried 3 times !!
I have had the Yeti 1000 for over a year and the 120v AC stopped working and each time i reset it a red light turns on and it says overload. But nothing is plugged in. What am i supposed to do? This occurred when i used the exact same 1500w space heater that you used in another yeti commercial.
I need Goal Zero to step up and add a demonstration of HOW TO install their intergration kits and deep cell battery set ups. I just ordered the intergation panel and their four set of deep cell batteries to go with my Goal Zero Yeti 1400W I already own. I've had the 1400 since 2018. Use it primarily in summers for camping and running lights and fans to a covered 24 foot pation with no AC. Anyway I've been trying to buy these home back up parts to go with it for a year now but Covid hit and must have created a run on these items as even though GZ sends me emails advertising them I went and they were always out of stock until this past week. Ordred both. NOW how to install? Oh yes they do recommend you get an electrcian. We will but we also frome experience and knowing we live in rural area of the USA where it's 100 miles one way to nearest town of size Kalispell MT so 200 round trip we need to know everying in advance ourselves and have all items on hand prior to calling that electrcian for his legal input and labor. So many questions so many need to knows so little in their manuals. So kudo's to reviewers and customers who upon my asking if there is a way to power our WELL which turns out is 220 via the deep cell battery and goal zero 1400 they wrote back with this statement "It can be wired for 220v but you will need to replace the connector with a P6 30 amp" So thank you customer for sharing that information. GOAL ZERO WHERE ARE YOU. You ignored my question to you on this on line and your webpage. Acutally to be clear here I've asked several questions on line and YOU NEVER ANSWERED going back to 2018 and my first purchase of the GZ Yeti 1400. But after purchase I do have a phone # to call and a name of a rep who answers clearly and helped with a few issues that cropped up back then. BUT looks like I need to contact that REP again. I wrote down his number at the time and his extention and name so I can get to a real person fast when need be. But GZ please switch some of your HYPE advertisements towards actual SHOW AND TELL videos here on Amazon and across the board on your webpage too. REALLY we need it. I'm in my 70's a female and though hubby in his 80's is supportive of my hobbies and interests he can be caught off guard say when those four over 70 pound batteries showed up a few days ago. I felt so bad for him I did carry them down into the basement myself when he went for his daily 2 mile walk. He did his part by carrying in the last batter to the top of basement stairs due to it's damaged box and lost hand hold on one side. I then proceeded to get it down to join the others too. I'm 5'2 and yes in my 70's now. So not everyone HIP YOUNG thing is the person buying into the Solar and lithium back up scene. Goal ZERO we expect more and actually you need to STEP UP AND PROVIDE MORE. Thank you and everyone Stay Safe it's been a wicked ride this past year and it's still not quite over.
So goal zeros have no issues with heating elements. Such as crock pots and coffee makers etc. we had an solar system that failed due to heating elements why.
The Yeti will be usless for a fridge because start up of a fridge is about 1400 watts when warm, even if you get it started it will use 300-500 to get the fridge cold, within a few hours your Yeti would be dead, now your fridge is going warm while you charge your Yeti for the next 20hrs. And you're back to square 1.
Hi Ryan, Thank you for your suggestion. Our Goal Zero Yeti's work really well with recharging batteries for cordless power tools. The awesome people at Homemade Modern use our Goal Zero Yeti's to recharge all their cordless Ryobi power tools for their various off grid projects. We'll be sure to showcase this in the near future.
Hi Robert, Thank you for contacting Goal Zero. That will ultimately depend on how you use it, such as how many cycles you use on the battery, and how you maintain the battery.
@@goalzero I need to run my laptop, printer, tablet and cell...12 hours a day since I work from my RV. How will that effect use and maintenance? I'd charge it overnight in my daughter's garage.
If it uses 700W constantly, yes. But for example a fridge is powering on and of all the time. So you can't really calculate the run time based of the maximum power draw of the fridge
@@goalzero So if for example I permanently had my CPap connected and the Yeti plugged into the power outlet, would the Yeti automatically take over powering the Cpap machine in the case of the power going out? Powering my Cpap is my primary reason for wanting one but really I need it to automatically take over if the power was to go out while I was using it.
Hi, You can find the price and specification on our Yeti 1400 on our website located here www.goalzero.com/shop/portable-power/goal-zero-yeti-1400-lithium-power-station-app/ As far as using third party panels, you'll want to call our solutions center team at 1-888-794-6250 with more specs on your panel to see if it's safe to use with our products and to see if we have any adapters for connecting it.
Curious what your set up is now if you don't mind. Devices, how long of use/charging, how long before recharging? Using a Jackery/shore, yada yada? Thanks lol
Hi Camilo, Sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing. It's possible that your coffee maker goes beyond the AC output's capabilities of 120VAC 60Hz, 2.5A (300W continuous, 1200W surge max) by drawing too much power. We'd suggest contacting our solutions center team at 1-888-794-6250 Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm MST to verify the specs of your coffee maker to see if it will function on your Yeti 400 or if you'd need to use a larger unit.
Camilo Pineda definitely used error and lack of info it's very important to know what you need so you can get what you need. Electric appliances use a lot of juice because something has to either cool or heat plus they all surge in power initially or when doing certain task.
I have the same instant pot and it overloads the 400. I love your products - spent two weeks with my 400 and the boulder panel in several national parks and it was awesome. But it seems misleading in the video that the 400 can handle the same appliances as the big one.
Great 👍 solar generator Great idea goal zero yeti pro 4000 lithium phosphate battery please show on UA-cam videos and goalzeroTANK PRO 4000 extra lithium phosphate smart battery
It really depends on the power consumption of your specific pressure washer. If you call our solutions center team with the make and model of your pressure washer they can see if the Goal Zero Yeti can handle the power draw from it.
What I'm seeing, is the Yeti 1400 lost a whopping 16% of its charge running a fridge light, and two coffee makers for only 10-20 seconds each. Because of the insignificant amount of time you used each item, it's not really what I'd qualify as a real test, and not convincing at all.
So there is a big storm and a huge blackout ... panick everywhere ... but you are going to use your blender and your infotainement system ?? I think these examples are a bit ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I love Goal Zero and have some of their products, but your goal should be more off-grid living ...
Yes, well for me he missed the most important one to me at least and thats running my Cpap machine as I am unable to lie down and rest or sleep without it.
Well, for normal people living on the grid, there are advantages of not having a noisy, smelly, easily stolen machine outside when there are no lights in the neighborhood. It really can't compete with the dual-fuel generators that can quite easily power most of your house with a transfer switch. But the Yeti might get your frozen food through an outage and keep your sump pump running as well. You could go for a $20,000 Telsa Powerwall if you're drowning in cash.
Why can't I charge my Suaoki power station with my new Goal Zero 100W. The Plug does not fit from the goal zero. I am buying the 500 goal zero power station.
Hi Trish, Thank you for your comment. We did plug in his fridge to the Yeti 1400 on the counter. We simply rolled the fridge out and attached an extension cable to it because the cord wasn't long enough to reach the top of the counter. had the Yeti 1400 been on the floor next to the fridge the cable from the fridge would've reached the Yeti just fine to power from it.

Can a Goal Zero Yeti 1000 power a portable 5,000-8,000 BTU air conditioner?
Just see how much the power draw is and it will answer your question
Hey Neil, Why can't your production keep up with customer demand? Waiting 3 months for accessories? Most of them out of stock? 15 minutes on hold for "agents that are busy."
Can i run air conditioner or fan with Goal zero 1400?
Why doesn't Goal Zero have more power outlets on their models? What type of Yeti would you recommend for apt dwellers?
Do yo have a video on the solar panels to charge your goal zero? The panels are slow to charge and its a shame you can only input a max of 22v. Do enjoy my unit but it does have its limitations.
Is the 14 watts the power the inverter uses? It's funny that you're not explaining that.
Can u use it for a portable air conditioning or a window unit kind
What about CPAP machines, also I have a hospital bed with an constant air mattress. what size will i need for those?
We recommend using at least the 500X and more powerful.
@@goalzero THANK YOU for your reply. I will look into it.
Is this company still in business? I've seriously been considering the 3000 watt power station but can never get anyone live on your customer service and they don't bother to ever respond to email and I've tried 3 times !!
Can you charge the Goal Zero 1250 (from the back) using an Alligator Clamp that comes with the Renogy 100 watt solar panel?
One thing you never talked about was the Battery Technology inside
Battery technology is maid in china . ANCIENT Chinese secret!
I have had the Yeti 1000 for over a year and the 120v AC stopped working and each time i reset it a red light turns on and it says overload. But nothing is plugged in. What am i supposed to do? This occurred when i used the exact same 1500w space heater that you used in another yeti commercial.
Great video .... does it run while charging? .. if you have Solar Panels connected to it ..can it charge while being in use?
Hi,
Great question. You can definitely use our Goal Zero Yeti's the same time you're charging them via solar or the wall.
Can a yeti power a heater? Possible that very small 200 W heaters?
Can the device be charged using an AGM battery?
How about a sump pump? Gotta keep the basement dry.
Why in Europe the Yeti costs double than in the US?? The price here is a crime! Showstopper.
VAT
Plus also maybe shipping costs (it is 47 kilos)? Though you wouldn't think shipping plus VAT would be double...
Shion Tanaka that is because of tariffs in your country
Go to pandu generator. Com cheapest price you'll ever fine.
Thanks this is really helpful information!
Will the 3k yeti support commercial lighting for night work? About 2k watts hours for about 10 hrs.
No. I think the inverter supports up to 1.5kW. You need a battery with at least 20kWh of capacity to run your 2kW lights for 10 hours
great product
So goal zeros have no issues with heating elements. Such as crock pots and coffee makers etc. we had an solar system that failed due to heating elements why.
These units don't store power, they store energy. 400 Watt-hours of energy or 1,400 Watt-hours (1.4 kWh) of energy.
Isn't energy considered power 🤔
The Yeti will be usless for a fridge because start up of a fridge is about 1400 watts when warm, even if you get it started it will use 300-500 to get the fridge cold, within a few hours your Yeti would be dead, now your fridge is going warm while you charge your Yeti for the next 20hrs. And you're back to square 1.
Within 2 mins of the video the battery was already drained 20%
Can you use a yeti 400 to power a fridge
I love my Yeti 1400
I would like to see you guys showcase how well the yeti works with cordless power tools to recharge batteries in off grid situations
Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your suggestion. Our Goal Zero Yeti's work really well with recharging batteries for cordless power tools. The awesome people at Homemade Modern use our Goal Zero Yeti's to recharge all their cordless Ryobi power tools for their various off grid projects. We'll be sure to showcase this in the near future.
will the Yeti 400 lithium power a coffee maker?? THx!
It powers my hotplate so I would guess it could power a standard drip coffee maker no problem. :-)
Thank you, you help me a lot!!!!
Wow! interesting. But how long is the lifetime of Goal Zero Battery?
Hi Robert,
Thank you for contacting Goal Zero.
Please simplify and make more sturdy the encasements. Lots of wear on those handles. Please make cars with solar elements.
If something uses 700 watt/hr, wouldn't Yeti 1400 run the fridge for 2 hours (and not 2 days as he says)?
If it uses 700W constantly, yes. But for example a fridge is powering on and of all the time. So you can't really calculate the run time based of the maximum power draw of the fridge
Can I charge the Yeti and have outlets connected while in use ?
Hi,
You can definitely charge the Yeti at the same time you're using it.
@@goalzero So if for example I permanently had my CPap connected and the Yeti plugged into the power outlet, would the Yeti automatically take over powering the Cpap machine in the case of the power going out? Powering my Cpap is my primary reason for wanting one but really I need it to automatically take over if the power was to go out while I was using it.
how much is the yeti1400? and can I plug up my 100w solar panel?
Hi,
You can find the price and specification on our Yeti 1400 on our website located here www.goalzero.com/shop/portable-power/goal-zero-yeti-1400-lithium-power-station-app/
As far as using third party panels, you'll want to call our solutions center team at 1-888-794-6250 with more specs on your panel to see if it's safe to use with our products and to see if we have any adapters for connecting it.
Dos it have integrated inverter? Can I run AC or DC?
It runs both AC and DC
Does anyone of theos comes with the solar panel? Or sold separately from Mattel?
many of them have the option of coming with solar.
Can I have one I live in my van and do reviews for yall all the time I work a lot as well a d this would help me a lot
Curious what your set up is now if you don't mind. Devices, how long of use/charging, how long before recharging? Using a Jackery/shore, yada yada? Thanks lol
The big one went from 96% to 78% in just half the video.
goal zero yeti 6000x lithium portable power station test it out
U think its worth 5k?
I have a new lithium 400 and it says overload if I try to use my coffee maker or one pot ☹
Hi Camilo,
Sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing.
I understand the high draw of electric heating elements.
Let them know
That man definitely seems like he is struggling to carry that Yeti and not show it.

how about a blow dryer?
Seems like it drains fast
Can it run a pressure washer? Probably a stupid question
It really depends on the power consumption of your specific pressure washer. If you call our solutions center team with the make and model of your pressure washer they can see if the Goal Zero Yeti can handle the power draw from it.
How about blow dryer for hair?

Do one for emergency comms the armature radio community
Why can't I charge my Suaoki power station with my new
Goal Zero 100W. The
Plug does not fit from the goal zero. I am buying the 500 goal zero power station.
Oh…hey..
I don't trust all of his cords and plugs. There's no way he pulled out that frig to get the cord out and its laying on the counter,
Hi Trish,
Thank you for your comment.
I have a yeti 1000 and it powers my large residential fridge just fine.
