There's a difference. He's not obligated to show his receipt. Just because she's demanding it doesn't put him in the wrong. She followed him out of the store which is against their policy
Thomas Foster It's not wrong for him to have words with them over following him. He absolutely could've done all of that and it probably would've been easier for everyone, but sometimes you have to remind people of their place and when they're out of line. Follow people and you might get more than you asked for. Lucky for them this guy wasn't the wrong guy to follow.
I worked at both retail and fast-food and I was told that if there someone robbing the store, we are told to not confront them so we don't hurt ourselves, our colleagues and customers. We are also told to self-defend ourselves if needed. However, most of the time we just have to report it to the manager and than corporate is aware. Thank God it hasn't got to the point where I am in serious danger.
Agreed man. I don't like when people like that customer make fun of someone just cos of their physical appearance. It's the 21st century, we need to be better than this as a society. :)
From my work you never ever follow the suspected customer who is shoplifting out of the store. Its an earning ticket that will get you fired immediately
As a someone who worked in Security, you have no obligation to show your receipt. If you are suspected of theft it is the obligation of the store to PROVE you stole something by either having someone in asset protection usually only a store detective or above have the right to 'stop' a person. Since technically stopping a person on 'your' private property can land you in some serious legal trouble from illegal detainment (just from stopping someone) to a whole lot more.... yea it gets really stupid and some people try to bait companies into doing things like this just to sue them for thousands. Which is why MOST companies will tell if you don't have recorded evidence of it you DO NOT pursue. Also Optimus made a great point that alot of people really miss, no one is asking you to be a hero and usually even doing so will legally get you in trouble. For people who are ACTUALLY thieves, pickpockets, booster, switchers, get-awaymen, scopers, heists, etc etc you do not RISK you safety pursuing someone ESPECIALLY godsake to their fucking car, you simply make sure you have footage of that person even if you have to run out a AP camcorder record it, and report it to the police. I've known people who've gotten guns pointed at them, knives drawn or just plain out threatened or fought with while making minimum wage which at the time as like 10.40$. As much shortage as theft may be causing, it's never a risk to your life especially if you are not a detective or armed guard who are trained to deal with these situation who if they were already clearly broke protocol.
She broke the first most common rule of retail if they leave the door you DO NOT FOLLOW THEM OUT it’s over you file a report if you think they stole you NEVER EVER FOLLOW THEM OUT THR STORE AND ESPECIALLY TO THERE CAR when I work at GameStop and few other retail places they made that shit very clear I know damn well Walmart has the same policy
I worked at Walmart for a bit and company policy states that if a customer is suspected of theft Loss Prevention (security) is to be notified as well as management. Security will then follow the suspect and if the possibility is high the customer stole something they are to contact police and get the license plate of the vehicle if the customer tries to leave the parking lot. They are explicitly told not to confront or prevent the theif from leaving (legally until the items are removed from the store it is not Shoplifting you cannot be charged if you dont leave the building, it's a dumb legality), mostly due to the high level threat of physical violence as a response to being found out. Edit; the fat guy is most likely Loss Prevention. The pink shirts are most likely department managers, there are managers above them that wear a tie that could be called.
This doesn’t seem like a Walmart issue as much as a personal issue. This is just a grey area within the shopping experience and it can be handled on individual levels. What we doing? I will watch today but I can’t make a promise about tomorrow. Wow the way you talk about employment is exactly what people say about millennials. _I’m not paid enough to do my job._
I am not paid enough to risk hurting myself at my job is what he meant. Policy dictates DO NOT confront people. You actually will be denied any benefits if you do go after someone and get hurt. No disability. No medical. Nothing to do with millennials. It's reality. People should hold no allegiance to a multi billion dollar company that doesn't give two shits about the workers.
Heres something interesting i learned about walmart after working for walmart for a year and a half. If a customer activates the alarm infront of the doors by passing through those little gates. Even if the door greeter asks to see the receipt, the customer can say no and the greeter CANT DO ANYTHING. The only course of action they can take is to notify the Asset Protection of their store who can stop and search their basket. The ONLY people in the store of walmart who can physically stop shoplifters are Asset Protection. Everyone else is supposed to use "Aggressive Hospitality" which is basically walking up to a person whom you suspect might be shoplifting and greet them pleasantly and ask them if they need help finding anything. The purpose is to disuade them from going through with the theft. After that, you are supposed to notify your manager who would then notify Asset Protection.
I used to work at Walmart and can confirm that they have broken the policy. What we are supposed to do if you suspect someone is stealing is to call AP. Asset prevention, who then has to catch them in three acts of shoplifting. If someone has left the store, all you can do is let them go or call the police. As a employee you can’t follow anyone out to the car or outside the poles out front. And you can’t accuse anyone directly. Your also not allowed to touch them at all.
I worked at Walmart for the entirety of last year and company policy states that hourly associates are not allowed to follow/call out someone suspected of shoplifting. Only salaried members of management or police are allowed to do so.
I swear some people just love drama man. It is ridiculous and uncalled for but unfortunately this happens more often then not. Appreciate the Ghost throwback gameplay homie.
My mother is a grocery store manager. She will absolutely terminate anyone who would follow a shoplifter or suspect out. If it can't be resolved at the door; that's it. They're not gonna have the families digging their claws at the company because their kid died on the company's clock, trying to be a hero.
I used to work for Walmart and they reiterated like 10 times in the training class that you shouldn't EVER pursue someone you believe to be stealing. its actually illegal to in my state. and every job ive had says the same thing, if someones stealing or robbing, let them, then report it to your manager and any cops that respond. ive literally been told by employers 'your life aint worth whatever dumb crap got stolen'
I never worked at Walmart but I did work at a store called Fred of buyers which was under the kroger brand and one thing that was the incentive for us reporting suspicious customers to our loft prevention department was that they would give us 50% of the value of whatever was in the shop lifters cart. Meaning if they had $1200 worth of product we wouldn't receive a $600 bonus at the end of the week
I do work at walmart and we can ask for a receipt. But if the customer says 'no' the associate just says 'Have a good day.' and that's the end of that. When was the door goes off such as with an electronic we do ask. What the way of the Walmart associate in this video reacted is not the example that should have been followed.
As someone who is a cashier at Walmart (I’m on break now), if we ask for a receipt/ID and you don’t show it, WE get in trouble. Especially for ID. But another rule is if there’s anything large and/or expensive (TVs, Microwaves, Patio chairs etc) we have to ask to see the receipt, even if we know you paid. But this lady did break the rules, you can’t chase a customer out of the store. Once they hit the second set at the entrance it’s out of our control. If we think they stole, we report it to a manager.
As someone who worked at Walmart, the Walmart CORPORATE policy is that if you suspect someone is shoplifting, you do not follow them if they leave the store, once they walk out the door, you do not engage... also, the store itself doesn't pay for the freight, Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas paid for the freight to go from the distribution center to the store only to sit in the back room for months
I worked at a local WalMart from 2006-2013, and at times, we had door greeters that would check receipts for people leaving with buggies (so I call a cart a buggy), with a lot of unbagged items or larger items. Though, we did have some sketch people who would get a lot of bigger items and 24 packs of sodas and such that can't be bagged and would just try to sneak out the front door. Thefts had happened and still does, most likely. At the time, there were only very few associates or managers with the ability to go out in the parking lot after a customer. Besides the security department and such.
I worked at Walmart for 2 years. One time I had watched as security and the front end manager were chasing after a man who was running out of Walmart with a cart full of broncos gear. I was on lunch and was getting ready to come back as I saw them running after him out the exit. I on instinct took off after them. I didn’t even think about it until I was on the guys heels halfway through the parking lot. He ran through some bushes and I followed him off property. He thought I stopped chasing him and stopped running. When he saw me he dropped the duffel bag he took with some other stuff in it, I walked up took it said thanks and left. After I gave them their stuff back they wrote me up for following him off campus. I wasn’t mad I know what I did was wrong in the eyes of the company. But I just could not sit back and watch as a man was making off with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, when other people out there work their asses off for it. I know I put myself at risk for a very stupid reason, but anytime I’ve seen something like this go down I can’t help it I act on instincts and it always to stop the evil I see no matter how big or little
As someone that worked for companies like this for years, It's a common practice honestly. People get fired for not checking the receipt before leaving. It has something to do with the customer not getting receipt, the company needs to reinverse the money or soemthing like that
I work in retail (not Walmart). My job is delivering groceries to cars through their pickup service, but we are specifically told not to pursue any customers into the parking lot who we think are shoplifting. We are just supposed to let management know. At my store at least, most of the employees don't even acknowledge the alarm from people walking through the doors for like 30 seconds.

they're both in the wrong, one she should of not been leaving the store like that, and dude wasn't making matters better if you got receipt just fucken show it
There's a difference. He's not obligated to show his receipt. Just because she's demanding it doesn't put him in the wrong. She followed him out of the store which is against their policy
I feel like with this type of person would tried to block in front of the truck
Thomas Foster It's not wrong for him to have words with them over following him. He absolutely could've done all of that and it probably would've been easier for everyone, but sometimes you have to remind people of their place and when they're out of line. Follow people and you might get more than you asked for. Lucky for them this guy wasn't the wrong guy to follow.
Sheep talk.. just go along with your civil rights being violated
This is why you go to Target
loving the content optimus!!
“Thank you detective Rebecca, from Walmart” - *Optimus 2019*
Nice Ghosts gameplay the memories man
I had an incident with a Dragon Lady Walmart Manager when I was a vendor.
The worst part for me is that the in the video is the Walmart near my house.
Whenever Optimus puts out a commentary video, we should all take a shot every time he says, “To be fair.”
Yessssssssss cod ghost game play🤙🏼
Optimus you really need to make a podcast
the receipt was probably for a train ticket to hell for the manager
*bus ticket.
I felt real bad when he called out the fat dude...
JOSEPH COLLINS T.V I think he started laughing.
Agreed man. I don't like when people like that customer make fun of someone just cos of their physical appearance. It's the 21st century, we need to be better than this as a society. :)
From my work you never ever follow the suspected customer who is shoplifting out of the store. Its an earning ticket that will get you fired immediately
48 views and 92 likes. Walmart employees aren't the only ones getting out of control
"The 'May I speak to your manager?' haircut." is quite possibly the best sentence I've ever heard.
redownloading cod ghosts it looks like a lot of fun
Yeah bro, worked at Walmart way back when. Once an employee crosses that yellow line past the doors that’s grounds for an automatic termination.
Tactical Upload Incoming!!
Tactical baguette incoming
5:12 ik I’m not the only that was like “wtf” 😂💯

Correction: *She was the manager*
Edit: Just got to him insulting the large guy, at that moment he loses the battle. No need.
Rerun didn't have to be there, and he is a fatass
Loving these constant uploads bro
Ghosts Gameplay? POG
Time to show your lawyer and bring a lawsuit against this Walmart!
I would Just drive away
She broke the first most common rule of retail if they leave the door you DO NOT FOLLOW THEM OUT it’s over you file a report if you think they stole you NEVER EVER FOLLOW THEM OUT THR STORE AND ESPECIALLY TO THERE CAR when I work at GameStop and few other retail places they made that shit very clear I know damn well Walmart has the same policy
Oh wow ghosts
ikr it’s great
Hey dude really been addicted to the content lately you have good potential, 2019 I think youll hit 1M.
I like that you change it to Ghost, it's my favorite Cod (one of them)
I worked at Walmart for a bit and company policy states that if a customer is suspected of theft Loss Prevention (security) is to be notified as well as management.
Did you hurt yourself with that stretch?
Chadd Phillips maybe, it was top shelf.
Not my job to stop stealing 🧐 I agree why do stores have security then ?
>"May I speak to the manager" haircut
>Is the manager
She became the very thing she swore to destroy
Its over Rebecca! I have the purchased items
The reason why they ask for a receipt is because they are calling You a thief, it is that simple.
But im innocent until proven guilty, so im no theif
If someone who works there asks for it then I would just give it to them since I have nothing to hide
Ghosts gameply :) thanks
To be real, by the Walmart workers leaving the store, they are pretty much letting actual shop lifters get away.
Howdy doody
Walmart sucks
yes and idiots suck as well, both manager and this customer are total dip shits
Price wise it's not.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaalmaaaaaaaart
I don’t want to be stopped every time I walk out of Walmart.
G H O S T S
It’s like two little kids arguing that need an adult to defuse it...
Another day at Wallmart.
This is so dumb
No u
JoeSkoup indeed
I worked at Walmart for the entirety of last year and company policy states that hourly associates are not allowed to follow/call out someone suspected of shoplifting. Only salaried members of management or police are allowed to do so.
I swear some people just love drama man. It is ridiculous and uncalled for but unfortunately this happens more often then not. Appreciate the Ghost throwback gameplay homie.
My mother is a grocery store manager. She will absolutely terminate anyone who would follow a shoplifter or suspect out. If it can't be resolved at the door; that's it. They're not gonna have the families digging their claws at the company because their kid died on the company's clock, trying to be a hero.
optimus is one of the most underrated commentary channel
I used to work for Walmart and they reiterated like 10 times in the training class that you shouldn't EVER pursue someone you believe to be stealing. its actually illegal to in my state. and every job ive had says the same thing, if someones stealing or robbing, let them, then report it to your manager and any cops that respond. ive literally been told by employers 'your life aint worth whatever dumb crap got stolen'
that walmart lady has the "may I have to speak to the manager" headass.
Baaaaahahaha when you pointed out how she flipped the script on that haircut 😂😂😂
I love this channel because u always show the truth to people...nice
I know I put myself at risk for a very stupid reason, but anytime I’ve seen something like this go down I can’t help it I act on instincts and it always to stop the evil I see no matter how big or little
Took me a second to realise you were playing ghost. My first cod and I loved it. Thanks for the nostalgia
This type of videos are BANGING
As someone that worked for companies like this for years, It's a common practice honestly. People get fired for not checking the receipt before leaving. It has something to do with the customer not getting receipt, the company needs to reinverse the money or soemthing like that
can't wait for you to hit 200k dude
I work in retail (not Walmart). My job is delivering groceries to cars through their pickup service, but we are specifically told not to pursue any customers into the parking lot who we think are shoplifting. We are just supposed to let management know. At my store at least, most of the employees don't even acknowledge the alarm from people walking through the doors for like 30 seconds.
