Honestly, Mercedes was just perfect, she was able to sound happy and excited while keeping maturity and melancholy in her voice like Rosalina is supposed to be, she was and still is the best Rosalina, so i really hope Nintendo considers bringing her back if even for just a game or two... And it's not like the other 2 are bad, it's likely just Nintendo trying their hardest to "bimbofy" Rosa as much as possible, i believe they said once that they disliked Rosalina being so different from the rest of the cast, and changes like those kinda ruin her whole character and make her a "second Peach", but oh well, Galaxy is always there waiting to be replayed whenever i want to see the true Rosalina again...

Mercedes Rose clearly represents Rosalina's core character completely and its the best fit overall, that's evident HOWEVER i will forever give props to Kerri Kane considering that her voice as Rosalina is really likeable and adds that extra youthfulness to Rosalina without sounding that different to what Mercedes did. The controversy always comes around Laura, since she is the most different one due to how she is set to make Rosalina sound but she is a lovely voice actress and her normal more womanly voice in Super Mario 3D World is a perfect fit for Rosalina and its Nintendo that never wants her to use it, instead she provides a very girly version that we are have heard since MK8 which is why she is the least liked in general by many. Overall all are great, but Mercedes set the bar way too high and since she was replaced out of the blue it will always anger fans.

Mario characters do absolutely zero character developing in fact the most we know about her character was litterally in her first appearance in Galaxy 1, there aren't even backstory cutscenes in Galaxy 2. The voice change in 3D world and onward was a random decision by Nintendo not some sort of character development. That's like saying Mario has been stomping turtles and goombas for 25 years instead of fixing plumbing so bc of that he's grown as a character and has thrown away his past life and is now fighting a greater threat, like no it's another Nintendo decision to distance him from plumbing lmao.

Let's get this straight, darling. Mercedes was the best fit for Rosalina in the Wii games, by making her a very wise lady. Laura Faye Smith gave her that little touch of joy that our dearest was missing. Kerri Kane made her sound sassy, which isn't really something for Rosalina at all.
Opinions can't be wrong in this regard , Rosalina is set to behave different now in the party games she appears now so she doesn't need to sound like she is space anymore. For a classic space goddess there's Mercedes, for a more fun version of that there's Kerri and for a more upbeat scenario there's Laura.

Rosalina is the least sassy person in the Mario franchise. She could perfectly voice Rosa if she were to tone the voice down a bit and add a bit less sass to it. Laura Faye Smith: I genuinely have mixed feelings about this one. Again, Laura is a sweet, talented girl with so much potential. I actually really don’t mind her voice for Rosalina. While it is high pitched, it could say a lot about Rosie. Maybe she grew more happiness and achieved more of the ability to be open and confident about everything. It definitely fits Rosalina pretty well. I will say it again… Laura could possibly imitate Mercedes voice of Rosa if she has a lower, sadder tone in her voice. An echo effect will really help.
