Holy shit, I don't believe that "tank keeps pushing forward because of working engine even with dead crew" is real. So much realism here. Gameplay is excellent, so I will play it on the next weekend. Thanks for video!
meanwhile in WarThunder.... *dead loader, dead gunner, commander has severe head sharpnel wound and is incapacitated, loader half dead: BUT IM STILL SHOOTING AND STILL GETTING DEM HEADSHOTS. BOOM HEADSHOT*
It is actually realistic. If the engine/transmissions are left intact when hit the tank would continue to roll even when the cabin was obliterated. www.funker530.com/rolling-inferno/
Fuck that's a horrible way to go out, one guy jumped out ... the others went up in flames in the tank. Can only hope that guys inside were taken out by the initial hit, doubt it though.
SOLD!! I guess you know why they gave you this game to try. I'm totally into this one after trying War Thunder for about 28 days. Thanks for posting Matsimus! :)
Graviteam Tactics Operation Star had some DLC's that dealt with some modern conflict. Some african bush-wars, hypothetical Iran - Soviet Union conflict and that sort of stuff. UI, as with all Graviteam products is a complete pig but once you get over that it's quite fun.
Wow I had this for year but never got into it cause I was expecting something different. But now I gotta go back and play this after watching this video
Damn, was hoping it was a tank simulator when i read tank warfare. Looks interesting. But what the heck Graviteam! You send Mats a code but not me!? Mat's came to my channel thanks to a video i made of your game! Pfffffssh.....and i got like 60 views on it! Just kidding just kidding. Game looks beautiful, but they always do from Graviteam, they sure know how to model their vehicles, even the old games look amazing. But time they make a new tank sim again, already got their strategy games, i want to be in the middle of it again, commanding my tank platoon while my army fights around me.
I was looking at the Theatre of War series on steam but some of the reviews didn’t seem so great. Want a more sim like military RTS, this game here looks like a winner for sure.
You can customise your formations depend on what enemy you are attacking, its important. Formation is a serious matter, to reduce casualties, increasing firepower, firing on move or just gone crazy charging like maniacs. Its depend on enemy unit type, if a machinegun, avoid column formation, they can rip you to shred. The old tutorial still suitable today, there is a 72 pages of tutorial u can found online of the first game of Graviteam tactics Operation Star, it similar. Any tutorial videos in UA-cam of Mius Front ( second game) is also suitable and very similar.
The tank man chatter is nice, but it would be a lot better if they didn't just complain about the weather or their arms being tired. Maybe some dialogue between the crews?
I love the subject because it is complex but hates the community at times because bias, propaganda and yest he simpletons. Then you have the "myth busters" that try to hand pick facts to debunk popular myths but at the same time instill new equally biased ones via half-truths.
James Hunter You are absolutely correct AND especially so with an extensive base of self-biographies and film from privates, to batttalion, div, corps, army commander's knowledge to pick from the games will continue to keep rolling out for years to come. Just keep the politics out of it.
Grand Admiral Thrawn now wait just a minute, any strategist should know the most direct route to ousting an imposter is to out manuver them. This will require tactics as well and is much more subtle than proclaiming that an opponent is an imposter.
What? No. TT, you're mixing up the names. The game your referring to is "Steel Armor: Blaze of War" by Graviteam Tactics. And yes, there is Steel Beasts by eSimgames. Matsimus did mention that if Steel Beasts and Graviteam's sims were combined, you'd end up with the best tank sim ever.
Which "DAK Panzer", you mean the PzKw III on the title screen? Looks like the III Ausf L with the longer 5cm gun on it, we notice that it also has the extra stowage on the back of the turret. Those stowage bins were not on the earlier models. There was no "extra stowage" put onto the L's or any other German tanks in the desert, they had exactly the same as the ones sent to Russia, just that they were sprayed in Dunkel Gelb by Tunisia. They were often covered in extra water and fuel cans, tracks as improvised armour on the front, but that's not "extra stowage" is it? People usually say what German tank type they mean, given that there were no German tanks in this, apart from on some sort of title screen, i have to assume you mean the PzKw III Ausf L on there. It's an accurate one to what they look like, I've modelled them all the time for tabletop wargaming in 1/72 and have several platoons of DAK Panzers. None of them have any "extra stowage" on them, but they do have extra supplies and equipment on them, yes.
Oh shit new Graviteam tactics already? I haven't finish with the previous one yet ahh.. Edit: It was actually a different game company now(publisher), but still the devs is Graviteam.
Typo in text. Or should I say 'ypo' as you have 'ank Warfare' a somewhat suggestive start of the text. Is it missing a T or a W? or a Y for American tanks?
dernwine I would hope so as the yanks were only in North Africa a tiny bit right at the end. For example approx 8k casualties compared to the commonwealths 200,000+ after marching back and forth over Africa twice. Luckily Ultra, the Churchill, Gibraltar and Malta saved our skin 😊
James Hunter They do look like M4A1 shermans EDIT:At least the main menu one does, "Eternity" looks like M4. Are the details wrong? I cant see on the mobile :P
The driver and radio hatch bumps are wrong, they are supposed to be angular or on to of the slope of the frontal armor, not the rounded parapets this one has. Or if I'm wrong, I can't find any examples of it in war or museum pictures
James Hunter Mkay I checked it, it is M4 Sherman, it looks weird because hatches dont have an armor plate in front of them, like it was mounted on pretty much every tank. And it is a bit top rounded
They were slowing so the gunner will have easy time aiming and firing while on move to dodge enemy fires. Plus, their inf was behind, they'll have to keep up with the tanks.
The focus is on the core elements of the sim part. All sims have that in common. You can't afford a PC anyway which would be capable of rendering a shitload of non-scripted AI in a CoD-pew-pew-shooter quality. It's not what these games are all about. That are unimportant details how it looks like in a close-up shot. Same goes for all other RTS-based tactic games, like TW and stuff. It's already an entertaining gimmick that you can zoom that much and still dive into the ongoing action. Most serious sims don't even have that. So, no one ever cared about the minor details of the personnel graphics. Except for kiddos, of course.

Nice I got this too! Cant wait to play when I get home tonight. Great video!
I'm a big fan of RTS games , this looks great.
Soon enough i suppose , but depends on if my exams get too much in the way :D

Operation Hooper
"we lost a Sherman" - Everyone
Did you know, they make a tank simulator using this engine already? Steel Armor: Blaze of War released in 2015. Has 80s era tanks
Was it the same engine used in Steel Fury?
You mean 60s -70s tanks...
Wow I had this for year but never got into it cause I was expecting something different. But now I gotta go back and play this after watching this video
that's not how i expected my country to look like in video games ..
Haha, I'm Tunisian living in America and I thought the same.
haha me too :)
mwaher frr
taha yassine Tizaoui Haha it's not the first time tho. We're famous sahbi :D

You REALLY like this game.
If this game had multiplayer, I'd be very interesting.
Hey Matsimus i love your overview videos about military vehicles and whould love it if you could make one about the "Mowag Piranha III C"
this looks really good. Hope you indeed played a lot :D
I was looking at the Theatre of War series on steam but some of the reviews didn’t seem so great. Want a more sim like military RTS, this game here looks like a winner for sure.
Would love to see this done with the Pacific war.

Afnan Zahran I find u everywhere bro
The tank man chatter is nice, but it would be a lot better if they didn't just complain about the weather or their arms being tired. Maybe some dialogue between the crews?
I am pretty sure that shermans turret should have ejected into space with that hit.
How can you grow/live up in the 21st century and not like WWII?
Oversaturated scenario. Also, one of the most propaganda heavy, so it's a simpleton dream, good x evil, blablabla. I don't like it either.
I love the subject because it is complex but hates the community at times because bias, propaganda and yest he simpletons. Then you have the "myth busters" that try to hand pick facts to debunk popular myths but at the same time instill new equally biased ones via half-truths.

Imposter

Looks really cool.
wish we'd get a proper tank sim from these guys

BOW is getting old in the tooth unfortunately.
Hi IdleRain. Yes SABOW is old, but the multitude of mods give it a new lease of life.
This is a really great game, one thing though, the DAK Panzer need more stowage

Improved graphic
Typo in text. Or should I say 'ypo' as you have 'ank Warfare' a somewhat suggestive start of the text. Is it missing a T or a W? or a Y for American tanks?
xD
oof the tutorial literally handholds you to defeate what a game
if u got tanks or truck u can move ammo and ppl sit on tanks
Is it only US Army? Any chance of playing Monty's 8th?
dernwine I would hope so as the yanks were only in North Africa a tiny bit right at the end. For example approx 8k casualties compared to the commonwealths 200,000+ after marching back and forth over Africa twice. Luckily Ultra, the Churchill, Gibraltar and Malta saved our skin 😊
Its only US for the Allies, you can also play as the Germans.
Sun Tzu waste of money in that case, definitely not buying it.
Not in the core game. The Brits could be added as DLC later.
Sound a bit butt-hurt about that.
trust me u havent learnt the game it takes years LEARNING THIS GAME i played 4 years sitll dont know everything
MOAR OF THIS PLS
I would like it if the model were closer to actual Shermans though
James Hunter They do look like M4A1 shermans EDIT:At least the main menu one does, "Eternity" looks like M4. Are the details wrong? I cant see on the mobile :P

The guess I'm wrong then
There were many variants of the Sherman, so you know, both of us can be right or wrong right here :P
You should play war thunder!!!
there is a typeo in the discription. it says ank simulator....
These games are great I bet, just a shame for the high prices since these are sims...
Those aren't smoke particles but dust particles.

seems like gmod and arma meet together
Any word from the recruiter?
hi matsimus is this pc game?
Romeo Diyong Yes, It's on Steam. Just released today.
Erick von Kohler thanks bro
SHERMAN TANKS!!!!!!
The landscape just does not resemble Tunisia - and some Tunisian people have said so, in the comments.
do the M84
Bloody crap old tanks were so slow.... >_
They were slowing so the gunner will have easy time aiming and firing while on move to dodge enemy fires. Plus, their inf was behind, they'll have to keep up with the tanks.
"Graphics looks amazing" While the closeups look like from a PS1 game, lol.
