I went to Browning over this past summer to do community service work and live on an old ranch...it was amazing. some of the people that I met were incredible. I got to do the sweat and go to a powwow and even attend the Sundance feast. I really love and believe in their culture, but I'm also white. They made me wish that I was a Native.
pnoon81. in ways it preserves the song so all others can hear the wonderful music and so it can not be forgottin and lost. plus it can make people want to learn more about it. and then ask their elders or others that know alot about it.
The more we know about the culture the more we will understand its people. That might help with the indians alcoholism, drug abuse, poverty and suicide rate. It is 2009.
My fathers fathers real name was "Warfield" where does this name come from, I thought we were "Blackfeet" but since my mother died from the own hands of her son , she has been sending me Native Crow and Sunflower messages, Are these natives mixed? Any help would be great!
My great grandmother was half Blackfeet and kicked off her fathers land. I appreciate hearing and learning more about the tribe. All my family has are old stories she would tell us...
My grandmother was blackfoot , I live in North Carolina, in the USA. As far as I know my grandmother lived in Chesterfield SC, In USA. I never met her or my grandmother or her family. She died when my uncle was born. My mother is white. My father pasted away when I was eight. Her name was Lizzie Grooms McIntyre., my father was Walter James McIntyre. If any one has any information I would be thankful...
He would say enjoy the shade, and Astro turf! What about those Foreign flags the U.S and Can'tada , wonder what grandfather spirit would say about that!?
