My top 3 Disney films, in general (not just from 2000) are Lilo and Stitch, Emperor's New Groove and Meet the Robinsons. I absolutely LOVE their 2009-current film slate, don't get me wrong, but for me, nothing will give me the pure magic, enjoyment and beauty of L&S, ENG and MtR.
Kuzco sees his flaws in ruling when he meets and understands pacha perspective. He changes his ways at the end of the movie 😂 that’s what it was about .
Chicken Little (as much as I personally love it), and Home on the Range are really the only weak films. Brother Bear, Antlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Emperor's New Groove, Meet the Robinsons, Treasure Planet, etc... They're all great. Disney was just trying to hold onto a unique animation style at the time Pixar, DreamWorks, Blue Sky and Warner Bros animation had all diverted to 3D.
It’s interesting how when you grew up can really shape your taste. Emperor’s New Groove, Meet the Robinsons, and Lilo and Stitch are vastly superior to the last ten years for me with the exception of Tangled which is fantastic.
So I just saw the part about the Emperor's New Groove, and while I completely respect your opinion, I wanted to explain why I disagree: About Kuzco, I agree that he's a big jerk in the beginning, but that's the point. He goes through a very dynamic development on the story and it feels genuine. It's not his fault that he was raised as a spoiled brat, and after being taught to be kind by Pacha, he becomes a much better person. It's also not true that Izma is a hero. She shows that she's evil in many more ways than just trying to kill Kuzco and taking over the empire. Even before Kuzco is overthrown, she's seen ruling in his place while he's not there, and when some peasants are talking to her in that situation, she says explicitly that she doesn't care that they don't have food. She also treats Kronk in a very rude manner, and she was the one who raised Kuzco to be the spoiled jerk he was in the beginning. I also don't really think the animation is all that bad. Maybe it's just me, but I think it looks fine. Again, I completely respect your opinion, I just completely disagree.

Meet the Robinsons is the goat bro. I feel like it’s soooo relatable for so many people out there, and I love when I can connect to a character and feel like I’m experiencing the same struggles and triumphs they are
Let me try and change your mind on Kuzco. The thing about his character is that he's the protagonist, but not the hero. He is a villain at the start, and only through his experiences with Pacha and alone in the wild is when he becomes humble and realizes what is truly important in life. I think his character arc flows very smoothly, and it is why it is my favorite Disney movie. Well, also because it is hilarious.
Sean, I’ve definitely been stealing your joke but altered: “Ranking these movies is like ranking my kids, which my wife insists I need to stop doing given the fact that we don’t have any.”
I Google search 2021 movie release dates and there’s several websites with lists. I map out the entire yesr in January. I update as things change and every few months I reevaluate and update to figure out what I need to watch
You know sean, with you not liking Cusco and that hurts the film for you, the point is to dislike him. Your rooting for Hatcha to change him before Izma kills him. Which is why she's the villian. All I have to say as I probably have some bias.

Oh! If you like Tangled, you should watch Tangled the series! Okay, it has a slow start, and has a bunch of episodic episodes to get through, but I assure you once the plot kicks in, it really kicks in. By the end of season one your on the edge of your seat. The characters are great, the SONGS ARE UNBELIEVABLE, and the plot is fantastic (well, there's a few small flaws, but still, its worth it just for the music.) No one:
People that disagree with the video: I mean, by all acounts this doesn't make any sense.
He’s a protagonist that’s worse than than the antagonists 🤷🏻♀️. Why do we want him to have redemption but not the antagonist?
Sean, I’ve definitely been stealing your joke but altered: “Ranking these movies is like ranking my kids, which my wife insists I need to stop doing given the fact that we don’t have any.”
I’ve missed out on almost all of your films in the top 10. Time to spend a weekend checking these out. Another great list!
“I find your lack of ranking ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ at #1 disturbing.” 🤣
Is that gronk next to hayworth
Brother Bear always held a special place in my heart. It’s one of the only times my birthplace Alaska is represented in film.
Nice! Yet that was in Alaska?
@@andreasmeelie1889 yep. They’re is character named after towns in Alaska. The main character, Kenai, is a town I live in!

Hey Sean, I know this is a totally random question, but how do you keep track of new releases for movies?
I Google search 2021 movie release dates and there’s several websites with lists. I map out the entire yesr in January. I update as things change and every few months I reevaluate and update to figure out what I need to watch
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Great thanks!
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout wow very organized more than me
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout where is the wild ?
You know sean, with you not liking Cusco and that hurts the film for you, the point is to dislike him. Your rooting for Hatcha to change him before Izma kills him. Which is why she's the villian. All I have to say as I probably have some bias.

Great video! Mostly agree with everything, but I love that you explain everything so well. If I can give one tip, I think your overusing the movie clips a bit. Their hilarious, but there getting a bit repetitive for me

How is the cat from Bolt like Jessie?! She’s definitely more like Woody.
Exactly
Maybe he said the wrong thing. But idk Jessie as the cat also makes sense. As the cat distrusts humans like Jessie, they both want to live free and away from humans.
I think that’s because of how her owners abandoned her?

I LOVE James Newton Howard's score for Dinosaur, glad you talked about it!! Such an underrated score
His score for raya and the last dragon is also really good.

I have not seen Winnie the Pooh so I did not include it, I also didn't include Encanto because that wasn't out at the time of this video. Gotta love the UA-cam algorithm.
I feel like I’m the only person who thought Raya and the Last Dragon played out like a JJ Abrams film.
Force Awakens vibes
I am fascinated by how incredibly different our rankings are
Dinosaur and Chicken Little are my 2 favorite Disney movies 🙃
I don't know what's worse: Home on the Range making me Google if a bison can mate with a cow, or Dinosaur ending with a joke about a monkey having a three-way.

Can you do top ten animated movies that should be remade in live action? You comments on Atlantis gave me the idea.
Im pretty sure the point of emperor's new groove is cusco learning not to be a terrible person (idk i haven't seen it in so long)
He's actually doing it- Sean your a legend

Random suggestion. How about you do a video where you rank all the Mcu movies of the funniest. Because the mcu is very heavy on comedy in their movies
This idea is very likely to happen this year. I already have some notes. WOuld have happened last year but all the movies were postponed.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout where is the wild ?
Oh! If you like Tangled, you should watch Tangled the series! Okay, it has a slow start, and has a bunch of episodic episodes to get through, but I assure you once the plot kicks in, it really kicks in. By the end of season one your on the edge of your seat. The characters are great, the SONGS ARE UNBELIEVABLE, and the plot is fantastic (well, there's a few small flaws, but still, its worth it just for the music.) Also I think the music in the show is better then the movie.
OH we've definitely spent a lot of time watching it. My wife likes Tangled even more than me. So when I told her about it she was thrilled
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Well that's great to hear! I love the music! I love your channel btw (:
