It's amazing how much the right stylist can do to help. I used to freak out when trimming my hair and then I met my stylist and now I suggest a length and say do what u want because I know it will look amazing, and I went from like my armpits being my shortest hair even after donating, and last cut we went to my chin I wasnt anxious at all

Hullo, Krystal! I'm sorry you're having a tough time. Ever since my grandmother died, the holidays have been a pretty rough time for me (the idea of being in the Christmas spirit is sort of unfathomable). I think if you have depression, the holidays can tend to hit pretty hard. Because you start comparing what is happening in your life with all the stuff people act like is necessary for a real holiday. A close family, lots of friends, parties to go to, gifts to exchange. And, well, a lot of people don't have half of those things. But people cover and pretend and act like their lives are perfect to their Facebook friends and their instagram followers. Anyway. Just... try to not be too hard on yourself. No matter what your life looks like right now, it doesn't mean it can't change in the future. Maybe take a look at why you're sad, and see if there's anything you can do about it. Instead of just finding the problem, find the solutions you can reach for too, you know? And if it is possibly clinical depression, maybe just mention it to your doctor and see what they say, what their advice is. They don't always just reach for the nearest pill bottle. But, if it is the direction that might help you, isn't trying that worth the possibility of actually feeling better? If you have side effects, you can tell the doctor and stop the medicine, maybe try something else. I went through four because i have very severe reflux (don't worry; most people don't have the issues I do, it's not common to have that difficulty) and they understood I had a side effect and needed a different solution. I hope that this is a temporary slump you're in and that after the pressure of the holidays is off you, you won't notice it as much and you'll feel more upbeat. As a young stylist I really appreciated what guy said about the black. We ARE teached to avoid black because of the reason he mentioned. And we ARE teached to kind of manipulate the clients in a way. But in a good way. A lot of the times a client comes in with an idea they saw on instagram but it just doesn't fit them. So we're teached to talk them out of it. But sometimes you have to step away from that behavior and just trust the client. Thank you guy for the lessons you give us! Love from Switzerland.

You can donate hair to Pantene and they took my color treated hair. It was just short of 3 feet of hair and it went to making free wigs for women losing their hair to cancer. Awesome hair transformation.

There are some places that will take donated color treated hair! My hair dresser took off about 8 inches of my hair and she donates to places that take color treated hair!

It can be bleached and highlighted at the place my hair dresser uses, my hair was bleached when it was donated.

Personally, I dont love the hair, I hate chunked dye jobs and black/blonde together. HOWEVER: Bunny loves this hair, and it is important for her to love herself and the body she lives in. If this hair helps her be happy, then heck, am happy too

Children with Hair Loss takes color treated hair as does Pantene Great Lengths. Look into them next time Bunny! They are amazing! It is so simple.

Kat Dufresne Actually both places take 8 inches of hair minimum! I have donated to CWHL a couple times and the happily accepted my 9" of healthy highlighted hair.
Jennifer Symank It takes at least 8 to 15 ponytails to make a Pantene Beautiful Lengths wig, and each one comes from a different person with a different shade of hair. For a realistic-looking wig that has consistent color, all these ponytails must be processed and then dyed the same shade. It is critical for each ponytail to absorb dyes at the same rate in order to create a wig that is one natural-looking color. Gray hair and some chemically treated or permanently colored hair does not absorb dye at the same rate as other types of hair. It is much harder to color and, once colored, fades more quickly.
I checked their requirements. Bunny couldn't donate. Her hair had bleach and stuff. They won't accept bleach and chemicals.

When I was younger (almost a baby) I owned an Elmo plushie, one of those who you could tickle and it laughed and moved like it had seizures. One day my mom woke up in the middle of the night scared shitless because she heard weird gurgling noises in my room so she went to check in and it was my Elmo plush making them because it's battery was dying, like the Pee Wee doll but more hardcore.

I was born with black hair, then it turned into almost transparent blond, then to a more normal blonde, and now in my late 20s it's starting to get darker. It's funny how hair changes during your life (without dying it).
