The song is a very good taste of what Joey brought to Badfinger. There's often a lot of talk about Pete and Tom, and understandably so, but pieces like this show how valuable Joey was in the visions of greatness that came out of this band. A beautifully crafted song.
I love this song, Truly is a wonderful song that Joey wrote. Not to make light of the songwriting but when I heard the melody that Pete put in, it made me cry. I wish they kept the camera on him for his solo because at the end watching his fingers spread across the frets amazed me. I don't know what kind of guitar Pete was playing but I love how it sounds sweet and soulful. Miss you Pete
This song was the B side of the single "Day After Day" (1972). I prefer this live version without accordion in the end. Thanks for this rare live document.
Badfinger are simply, one of the best bands of all time! I have every album. Great songwriting, great musicianship, great singers. What more could you ask for? Love them! :)
This one made my ears perk up. I thought Badfinger was just okay for a pop band. I will rethink my opinion now. This song, done live, acoustically, is quite divine. Sweet, indeed.
A wonderfull song from Straight Up album ( 1972 ) ! Here in Brazil was B Side of Day after Day single ! I miss that good times ! Thank you ! Muniz ( bass )
I've become a Badfinger fan, in the last 7 years. You will never find a bad comment about Badfinger. I can't say enough about Badfinger. Their music is far better, than so many artists. F - Todd Rundgren, F - Capitol Records, F- so many that don't appreciate them.
I believe this song to be Badfinger's 'Norwegian Wood." With the "Straight Up" album cover that definitely was inspired by "Rubber Soul" and the placement of it as the second song on one of the LP's sides (although on side 2 instead of side 1) these guys surely looked up to The Beatles - to simulate them to that much detail! Not a fault though, I look to The Fab Four for inspiration (amongst other bands including Badfinger) also.
Odd that I never heard songs like this from them..The radio always played the faster songs..I had no idea they were so good..I missed out on the band..grrrr
Best in order: 1. Wish You Were Here, 2. Straight Up, 3. No Dice, 4. ASS, 5. Badfinger, 6. Airwaves and I'll stop there. Once you've picked up these 6 you'll get the rest regardless. NOW some might argue ASS and Badfinger are about a tie, and some even think Airwaves was better than ASS, and over all it may have been a stronger album. But I give ASS extra points for the "OMG!!", masterpiece, that was, and is, Timeless.
what's gay about it? few songs are romantic like this without being sappy. it's almost eerily beautiful and somewhat melancholy. they don't write them like this anymore. the acoustic guitars are exquisite
"the closest thing to Badfinger you are gonna see today." Well, since the other three are passed away now, yeah. Joeys a cool guy - he does get too much shit. Like Yoko, or something.
Have to comment. Badfinger live without post production. I love it, but I can't not be devastated by the band. Even 40+ years on. Nobody leaves alive, but that band, that music, those musicians--I wish it hadn't hurt so awfully to have been Badfinger.
This folkloric simplicity with professional performance reminds me on those good old medieval poems, songs, lyrics, it's just amazing! Makes me feel pure and innonncent.
An amazing and rich song! Just heard it for the first time. I hear echoes of Blind Faith, J Tull, Led Zeppelin, even Lennon, etc.. These guys had serious talent. I hope more people will discover this gem. Brilliant lyric: "love is the answer you gave me"!
Those of us who came of age with The Beatles loved this band when we first heard their songs on the radio, and then were shocked when we saw their album cover. Joey Molland was a dead-ringer for Paul McCartney and Pete Ham bore a passing resemblance to John Lennon. They even positioned themselves onstage like John and Paul.
I always liked Badfinger, always loved this album, and always loved this song. This is the first time I see them play it live and their singing and playing is flawless. This brings a lot of memories.
+1stSaintsFan Well, unlike The Beatles, they were never particularly innovative or groundbreaking, but, unlike a lot of other groups, they always knew how to write damn good songs.
Vintage beauty, thanks so much. My admiration for them keeps growing stronger, 30 years after I first started listening to them. Gotta add though, one thing I liked best about Sweet Tuesday Morning, on the LP, is that the awesome Day After Day was coming next!
Im really sad to know if this was true that two of the members of this band committed suicide,I love these guys esp.Peter Ham I was in elementary when I heard their songs like Day After Day, Without You,etc.
Pete Ham never realised that there were some people who were after his place up front because unlike Pete they were after all the trimmings,,but they never had his talent
@greatsajby Thanks for the tip. I have the Straight Up album on vinyl but have not listened to it in years. I agree "Sometimes" is a great tune. The Badfinger things I have seen on youtube have been quite awesome. Their talent is deep, a very, very talented group.

I believe Money was the B side (at least on the 45 I own.)
Badfinger are simply, one of the best bands of all time!
I have every album.
Great songwriting, great musicianship, great singers. What more could you ask for?
Love them! :)
Nice and easy listening ... I relax enjoying those chords!
This one made my ears perk up. I thought Badfinger was just okay for a pop band. I will rethink my opinion now. This song, done live, acoustically, is quite divine. Sweet, indeed.
One of my favorite bands of my youth. I truly miss them. So tragic and so sad how they were treated be the industry.
A wonderfull song from Straight Up album ( 1972 ) ! Here in Brazil was B Side of Day after Day single ! I miss that good times ! Thank you !
Muniz ( bass )
Such a beautiful and melancholy tune....:)
Badfinger unplugged!~
These poor guys got hosed by the music industry. Their manager was an amoral ass
pura magia, excelente banda, genial sonido!!!

lovey song writen by joey
Not hard to figure out why The Beatles liked them and got them on their label.
nice picking, and cool to hear joey singing. such talented guys, tommy could play anything you handed the guy !!
Oh I agree! Definite Hall of Fame. It is never too late.
only just found this group.....i like em a lot........
This song seems like someone put their soul into it...
Just plain Raw and Clean. Go Badfinger!

Great McCartney-esque tune by Joey who looks like McCartney...
I AM!! and loving it.....
Linda!!!!
Odd that I never heard songs like this from them..The radio always played the faster songs..I had no idea they were so good..I missed out on the band..grrrr
Great song indeed
I liked acoustic lines.
Oops! I meant "Straight Up!"
"No Dice" was the other of the 2 greatest Badfinger albums!
THANK YOU!
fav
lindo mesmo.

superb
very nice ...although i prefer Petes's voice...
I love Petes voice too but I really love Tommys
I agree RainySunday what a mess..
what's gay about it? few songs are romantic like this without being sappy. it's almost eerily beautiful and somewhat melancholy. they don't write them like this anymore. the acoustic guitars are exquisite
Fuck. He looks like Paul McCartney. Weird..
@fairyfellermaster I agree. I get really tired of people tagging. Dylanesque or Beatle-esque. If the song is good l- let it just be good
Thanks for uploading! Excellent performance.....wish the lead was up louder though. Acoustic guitars sound so much better miked.
geniuses man.
sounds like dylan in a way.
harder to stand out among these songwriters
P.S. Stan Polley is a soulless bastard. I will take him with me. :(
Love your music!!!
"the closest thing to Badfinger you are gonna see today."
Well, since the other three are passed away now, yeah. Joeys a cool guy - he does get too much shit. Like Yoko, or something.
Great song, but Joey sounds like Mick Hucknall! :)
And I suspect Stevie Nicks was influenced greatly by this song.
Badfinger was the most underrated band in history. The loss of Pete, Tommy and Mike is tragic
Good god almighty, what a perfect band was Badfinger?!
Badfinger's album "Straight Up" was, and still is a, brilliant piece of work. This song is just one of the gems on it.
It is Monday but I'll take it.. Adore this song.... Why don't folks write songs like this anymore?
What a wonderful song, and sung wonderfully. Damn, I just love Badfinger music.
Have to comment. Badfinger live without post production. I love it, but I can't not be devastated by the band. Even 40+ years on. Nobody leaves alive, but that band, that music, those musicians--I wish it hadn't hurt so awfully to have been Badfinger.
+Kim Dopp Absolutely. Badfinger deserved a much better fate.
damn it, you made me cry < :^(
teared up myself.
This folkloric simplicity with professional performance reminds me on those good old medieval poems, songs, lyrics, it's just amazing!
Makes me feel pure and innonncent.
Badfinger Unplugged...beautiful job, Joey.
One of Joey's most beautiful songs.
Beautiful song, Joey. Thank You!
An amazing and rich song! Just heard it for the first time. I hear echoes of Blind Faith, J Tull, Led Zeppelin, even Lennon, etc.. These guys had serious talent. I hope more people will discover this gem. Brilliant lyric: "love is the answer you gave me"!
Melodic and beautiful.
Sweet Tuesday Morning everyone... :)
Love it.
Thank you.. Tiana Maher :)

Joey Molland was a dead-ringer for Paul McCartney and Pete Ham bore a passing resemblance to John Lennon. They even positioned themselves onstage like John and Paul.
Such a lovely tune; I remember it fondly from the 70s...
"All of my fears they have left me...". Very Lennon like, Not McCartney (surprise). Plus it sounds like it's in a minor key (Dm actually).
Moronic comment, Sean. McCartney's written equally moving songs. He's just more versatile which some people hold against him for some reason.
"the saddest of all keys"
Actually it is D Minor but who cares. It's a great song no matter what key!~
Straight up was one of THE great albums
Such a tragedy what happened.
Proper musicians and songwriters.
I hear the song and I feel a great sadness remembering the tragic end of two of its members. Beautiful song and nicely played by Joey.
I've just discovered that I like most of their songs too, what an amazing group!!
Perfection.
As well as Pete & Tommy, Joey could also write great songs!
Brilliant band. They had an albatross-like "new Beatles" tag that must have weighed heavy on them though.
I always liked Badfinger, always loved this album, and always loved this song. This is the first time I see them play it live and their singing and playing is flawless. This brings a lot of memories.
a "b" side as i recall but i never knew joey sang it, thanks for posting
Badfinger are "The Beatles" with some Balls.
+1stSaintsFan Well, unlike The Beatles, they were never particularly innovative or groundbreaking, but, unlike a lot of other groups, they always knew how to write damn good songs.
to my one of my favorites singers.. joey molland.. more power to you sir.. i want to listen more from you sir.
joey looks a bit like paul mccartney
where did this video come from thanks alot for it. I'm always looking for more badfinger vids. This is awsom!!!
Magnifica coleccion de videos, con mucha creatividad de los grandes anos del rock
Wish these old videos would have the aired/recorded date on them.
Who watching this in 2016?
Me
Only people who know great music and can relate to better times.

Your mom.
I am and still great45 years later!
Vintage beauty, thanks so much. My admiration for them keeps growing stronger, 30 years after I first started listening to them. Gotta add though, one thing I liked best about Sweet Tuesday Morning, on the LP, is that the awesome Day After Day was coming next!
Men had such beautiful hair in the 70's
Im really sad to know if this was true that two of the members of this band committed suicide,I love these guys esp.Peter Ham I was in elementary when I heard their songs like Day After Day, Without You,etc.
beautiful music
Pete Ham never realised that there were some people who were after his place up front because unlike Pete they were after all the trimmings,,but they never had his talent
espero que cuando llegue al cielo, Dios me de chance de disfrutar de un gran encuentro entre Beatles y Badfinger.... YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!
@greatsajby
Thanks for the tip. I have the Straight Up album on vinyl but have not listened to it in years. I agree "Sometimes" is a great tune. The Badfinger things I have seen on youtube have been quite awesome. Their talent is deep, a very, very talented group.
Can I someone please post a good lesson for this song, I want to learn it so bad!
from the iveys [maybe tomorrow] to badfinger [sweet tuesday morning] oh how sweet reminishing the '70s
Anyone out there think Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" is very similar?
Beautiful...I'm in awe of them... Thank you for posting!
Love Badfinger, dislike Joey tho! RIP Pete Tom and Mike x
Brilliant.
that is such a beautiful song.almost like a fantasy.
You notice how bands like Badfinger and songs from this era never get hateful comments?
Great acoustics. Big dreadnaughts
digs in pocket, pulls out lighter.
