HYOLMO/YOLMO is actually a group of ethnic people living in the north of Kathmandu. The hotel must have been named after it. They are similar to Sherpa and Tibetan by culture and langauge. There are many Hyolmo people who have been living in Ladakh, Manali, Kaja, Sikkim, Darjeling , Arunachal etc for many years now. The singer of Kalo Chasma Lau bhanxa Mrs Dolma Hyolmo is probably the most famous person from HYOLMO/YoLmo community
if you are still on the road, highly recommend to stay in Himalayan's den in chicham. The caretaker is fun and eccentric, the food is awesome and best of all everything is absolutely pristine. I went there in 2021. Hell you can trek up some small ridges right out of the hotel.
