I love me a deck with no coin flips and lots of choices to make and control of the game. As a magic the gathering player this deck is refreshing.
Once I read darkrai I thought of this deck but unfortunately the pokemon gods ain’t blessed me with a single darkrai
I need a Darkrai so bad 😩 so much fun deck potential
We built chip city. We built chip city on all your dough.
Petition for you to make a GODSLAYER bidoof deck
dude. i was playing this with no sound while baby was asleep, and your friggin Greninja pose made me lol like an idiot, thanks a lot

NOOOO! This is the first deck I made minutes after the set dropped. This deck is nasty, now everyone will be playing it.
@jonesyxxiv don't worry, this is just a worse (by many orders of magnitude) version of Darkrai EX + Weavile EX + Spiritomb. On top of that, this is also just the old version of Greninja + Druddigon, just with Darkrai added as an attacker instead. This will stay the precious niche deck you want it to be, and there's nothing wrong with that.
@@jonesyxxiv I mean it’s a meme version of a Darkrai list… even easier to play around then most others since drud just sits there doing nothing. Sabrina shits on this list
It's not that difficult to come up with this deck lol
It was an obvious deck to make, there's not that many cards out lol
Not like it was going to remains secret forever
The fact that this deck can be really good even with just one darkrai is diabolical
The reaction of Spragels coming to the conclusion that the Guac cost extra was pure comedy 🤣
Dude that first battle made my head hurt lol smh
with colorless in both costs, I feel like this could easily be dual energy dark/water to clean up with greninja as a single prize attacker. The dawn lets you move a bad attachment at some point. Sure, you will lose some darkrai damage sometimes, but I feel that ninja counter poking for 60 will make up that difference
That electric player at the end learned not to run all ex Pokemon.
Love the deck, so much fun and no flip involved
@@datgenre9549 yeah it’s just so consistent
And you can be fully set up by 6th or 7th turn when you get the 3 energies onto darkrai and you can be ready to knock out their active mon
The most fun evil deck I've made is Mars + Purugly + Dialga. It doesn't hit all the time, but when it hits, it's so funny. You can literally force your opponents to topdeck every card
Lately I've been really enjoying Clefable + Togekiss. I need to tweak the supporters, but both lines are super tanky...low retreat cost...low energy cost for attacking...and if you get Togekiss online with Cynthia, it can do upwards of 170 damage in one hit which one shots most EX cards. Currently running Pokeball, Slab, and Professor's to get my Togekiss lines up as quickly as possible. Two Cynthias, One Sabrina, and One Giant Cape. Still toying with different options like Rocky Helmet, Cyrus, and Potion / X-Speed.
You may be aware already but I overlooked the fact that you can hit for 110 on the first strike with Cynthia and then 120 on. Pretty insane.
This was the set I theory crafted with the leaks. Evil deck, have fun Mewtwo
Darkrai scared Mewtwo and Mew from the S or A Meta tier.
I have made a deck which I just went 9 wins out of 10 games with, and it consists into making either exeggutor or yanmega completely immortal using magic cloak, erika and double shaymin.
With that in mind, you have a stage 1 ex card with virtually more than 280 or 300 HP if you have both your Erika's and magic cloak.
You have more if you get shaymin early.
And honestly, with that, I have yet to face a deck that got to take a significant ko before like turn 8. And by that time you had all the time in the world to power up yanmega behind your exeggutor, and you're now ready to sweep away.
@@sticks4382 charizard should melt this ezpz
I can't get any shaymins man 😢
Genuine question: is Shaymin really worth the slot in the deck? He only heals for 10 and doesn't attack very well. I get that he's a basic but in a way that's even worse, cause starting with it must be awful.
That said, I've been running a ton of fossil decks with Lucario myself. I think they became a lot better with the inclusion of Pokémon Communications
@zachjohnson8431 it's the only bad matchup I found actually.
My deck thrives on stalling out decks that rely on chip damage and attacks that it could tank.
It doesn't matter how much healing you have when the deck in front of you only clicks one attack that OHKO's you.
Also found a variant where I played Dialga + melmetal with shaymin and honestly I think shaymin is now my favorite card it's so good.
Thanks to shaymin I managed to get the edge over another dialga Mel deck that had mew in it and it didn't feel even close, they just couldn't get through the wall.
Basically, for attacks that don't ohko, 1 Shaymin + melmetal = -30 damage from attacks, and with 2 it's -40. It feels completely broken.
Please test a leafeon-fossil Deck. Its super underrated. With swithing to a fossil, and then discarding it, you can attack everey turn.
Have you tested it? The wording on the card suggests switching out Leafeon doesn't matter. Not doubting you, just genuinely curious.
I had the idea for this deck and now see how awesomely it performs. I feel good knowing that other people thought of it too and it performs so well. Now I just need the cards. lol
I don't see why include Dawn in this deck. Like, Darkrai is the only attacker in this deck, so why would you move energy out of him? Maybe you could switch a damaged Darkrai for a full hp one and charge it up for attack, but that does not seem like a play you will usually make in any given game. It seems to me it would be much better to include another card, like a second Comm or a second Rocky Helmet.
@@Ferraco05 I think he has it there in the offchance that he needs to power frogadier for that single colourless, but to then move it to darkray?
But I do still think that it's not that worth the slot
Agreed. I made a copy of this deck but took out the dawn and put a second communicator instead to get better consistency with the ninja.
It's a good shout, though Dawn did just save my ass for this deck, it allowed me to swap to my other Darkrai for an attack faster. I only have 1 dawn though, don't think you'd need to use two in a match but I guess it's to make it come faster.
This was the first deck I made when set dropped and its an absolute banger deck.
A deck Ive been loving is a Skarmory Yanmega deck. Credit to TillyTCG on youtube.
It runs: 2 Skarmory, 2 Yanma, 2 Yanmega ex, 1 Spiritomb, 1 Shaymin , 2 Rocky Helmet , 1 Giant Cape , 2 X Speed, 1 Sabrina , 1 Cyrus, 1 Dawn, 2 Poké Ball, 2 Professor's Research.
The idea is to start with a skarmory and a rocky helmet and deal 50 damage for one energy as you power up yanmega in the bench. Skarmory can also act as a wall chipping away damage with rocky helmet. This can one shot manaphy by turn two if you get a good start. Additionally spirtomb helps chip away at all pokemon to allow cyrus to do its thing as well as Shaymin is there for some extra healing. You can remove a sabrina and add another cyrus as need be. Shaymin can also be removed depending on your liking however the extra 10 healing can come in clutch sometimes
This is the coolest deck ive seen so far in pocket, i want to play it sooo baaddd
Unconventional deck I love is 2x vespiquen/victreebel/farfetch’d/rocky helm/Erika/ prof oak
1x pokeflute/potion
Supporters/items can mix and match im sure- I haven’t pulled any of the new new supporters yet but it’s been so great. Combee can call for family which replaces poke balls and vespiquen can do 70 dmg with two energy. Victreebel’s fragrance trap can lure out EX’s like darkrai while powering up, or just keep pokeflute on hand to destroy manaphy’s and meltans over and over! I’ve noticed alot of regigigas lately too, which can be fragrance’d trapped out when you are in a pinch since it costs 4 to retreat them.
Hoping I get a Cyrus soon to try it- but I’m having fun away. I’m finding it pretty reliable!
Thanks for the fun videos, Spragels!
Helmet on dred was the first thing I wanted to try because you just do 40 for free every time they hit you. It’s such a strong start too
Rampardos is being slept, been decimating Darkrai, metwo, and Palkia with it. Definitely will be a top contender in the meta, calling it now.
130 for 1 energy is absolutely insane and you only take Recoil damage if you knock out the opponent. Truly an insane card.
I wouldn't say it's being slept on necessarily but this card was definitely a huge standout to me. Even the stage 1 is pretty strong and you can power everything else until you're ready to strike. Curious what you run it with? I'm using Hitmonchan / Lucario with a high success rate.
Personal favorite is Blaine ninetails with magnezone building on the bench 🔥 energy only
Made this deck (slight differences with mine but still same goal). I've had more people concede than finish the match. It's a chip city stall deck and can get set up in multiple ways. By the time your opponent gets ready, you've got damage counters all over and a Cyrus in hand to pull something out
I've been running different iterations if Fighting Fossil decks with Lucario since the beginning of the expantion and I really think they are a lot better now. The first deck I made was a Kabutops deck with Lucario and a single Chatot. Pokemon Communications + Chatot and the ability to dump fossils means you're way more consistent and the low energy requirements make you really fast. If you include one Cloak, once your Kabutops is online and you have 1 or 2 Lucarios on the bench, you have crazy sustain and basically make it so that the opponent has to oneshot you. I think the better deck is still with Rampardos (in my version I also include one single copy of Aerodactyl ex). Pretty fun and surprisingly good. Sometimes you do brick pretty badly and can't really do anything, but when you draw at least one fossil, you're pretty likely to see everything you need
This was the 1st deck I made when the new set was released. It does brick every so often but it's pretty fun to play.
i wouldnt worry about bricking. all decks are bound the brick. just the randomness of cards
This was the first deck I played against after the new set, I wanted to cry afterwards.
This looks insanely fun! Thanks for the idea
I hope people with the cards can pull off a water fighting energy lucario greninja combo. Does misty generate water energy even if you only chose a different energy for the deck?
This was the first idea I had when I saw Darkrai spoiled. Only problem is I've only opened one Darkrai..
Insane deck bro❤
I’m on a mission right now to beat Darkrai decks since it is whale favorite.
My most love-hate deck is Garchomp/Kangashkhan. The variance is phenomenal; you either KO anything as fast as turn 3, or get stuck without energy and dies to the slowest deck
Im playing this deck too. So toxic. So fun!
I’m a noob at this game so I been watching videos to understand the game. I had enough cards to try this ChipCity. I ended up going against a celebi ex with a serperior feeding it energy. I had lost a frog to another basic, can’t remember, and I had drud benched with two energies, because until right now, I didn’t know that drud and the frog aren’t supposed to be getting powered up, so I had my energy settings for fire water dark. So my opponent had a celebi with 5 energies, he does the draw and I’m lucky enough that he only get one head, so I get l 40 residual due to the rough skin and the helmet cards, then I shiruken again for another 20 hp and then I dawn an energy from Darkrai to power up drud for the last 80hp to knock it out. My opponent conceded after that 😅
When I have 2 stage pokemon in my deck: Evolves them every turn from start about 1 in 4 times
Spragels : Everytime
Jesus Christ, Darkrai, Druddigon, Greninja AND rocky helmet 😂
Bro
Darkrai
Mythic weezings
👀
Dialga + Mew is fairly standard, but I run it with a Spiritomb and a Regigigas too. Only 1 Regi to minimize the chance of it leading. A couple of Explorers, Leafs, Cyrus, and tools. Use Mew to defend against Palkia, Charizard and Mewtwo, and but otherwise Dialga sets up Regigas really nicely, and that gets stronger as it takes hits, it's a severely underrated card!
Gengar/Mismagius with a Giratina tank is awesome. Also, working on a Luxray/Electivire deck.
Here's a setup for the Dark...
2 Gastly
2 Haunter
2 Gengar EX
2 Misdreavus
2 Mismagius EX
1 Giratina
2 Pokeball
2 Professor Oak
2 Giant Cape
1 Leaf
1 Cyrus
I revitalized Gengar with one line of Dusknoir and PokeComms to get it on the bench once the first Gengar is out. Essentially you keep Gengar active and striking while timing your damage soak on Dusknoir to keep Gengar alive crazy long. In an ideal scenario (and with two capes) it can take up to 490 damage(!!) before it's KO'd while dishing out 100 a turn and preventing any Dawns, Cyruses, Sabrinas, Oaks, etc the entire time. I haven't had a chance to test it very long but it seems solid even without having pulled all the ideal pieces yet. Only hard counter I can think of is Charizard or maybe Celebi.
So unlucky that in 30 packs I couldn't pull a single Darkrai.
I know that the new set has been out for only a few days but I hope to find him soon, it seems so much fun. Thanks for the video btw, good and entertaining as always :)
Edit: it seems that a lot of us got so unlucky, even in more packs🥲

Pokemon Pocket Solo Expert battle tips.
If I just say the deck name than spragels has that decks video so you can see it there.
If I have the deck cards written here than I came up with it.
Yanmega ex & Exeggutor ex deck
Use Blaine deck (go first) I recomend using rocky helmet so when Yanma attack you can then KO it with one hit from rapidash.
Win with a deck that has only Darkness type pokemon I did it with Scolipede deck. But I maybe Weavile ex deck works with Spiritomb or with Darkray ex you can change it if you want.
2× Weavile ex
2× Spiritomb
2× Professors research
2× Pokeball
2× Pokemon communication
2× Giant cape (Do survive a hit from Yanmega ex)
2× Cyrus
2× X speed
2× Potion
2× Sabrina
Infernape ex & Rapidash deck
Win this battle without your opponent getting any points & Win with a deck that has only ◇, ◇◇, ◇◇◇ pokemon.
I'm honestly surprised how good this deck is
for this battle.
Go first to get Lumineon set and give it a rocky helmet before they can evolve their pokemon this way you already have a point. Focus on the Infernape ex evolution line so that Infernape ex doesnt happen.
2× Finneon Spacetime Smackdown
2× Lumineon Spacetime Smackdown
2× Potion
1× X speed
2× Rocky helmet (Really helpful for the same reason as Giovanni)
2× Cyrus ( to get pokemon who you damaged or who got hurt because of rocky helmet)
1× Pokemon Communication
2× Professors research
2× Pokeball
2× Giovanni (to get 80 hp fire pokemon with one hit)
2× Sabrina
Palkia ex & Vaporeon deck
Use Pikachu ex deck.
Win with a deck that has only Fire type pokemon.
Use Charizard ex & Moltres ex deck.
And just lead with Moltres ex go second.
Molters is weak to Electric type not water type so it takes a while to take it down.
And if you have any questions or ideas how to make the decks better, then comment.
Still tearing up Celebi and Mewtwo nerds with Scolipede/Weezing, Venusaur/Butterfree/Shaymin, Dragonite/Drudd, and my new favorite troll deck is Darkrai/Magnezone
hey jake i have a deck i think you should try its 2 lines of togekiss, 2 giratina, 2x cynthia 2x pokeball 2x prof research 2x poke comm 2 cyrus 1 cape and 1 helmet. setup giratina as a wall with rocky helmet while building togekiss in the back and when you need to retreat giratina its ability makes it a 0 retreat cost with 1 energy attached and togekiss hits for 60 then 120 every attack after paired with a cape and cynthia makes it quite the beast hope you try it out and let me know what you think
You have to call it "death by a thousand cuts"
I am currently trying to get a dragonite deck working with water energy only but with manaphy, Magneton plus Dawn
its a Mythical Island Deck, but I've been loving my deck of Jynx, Florges, and Beheeyem. Every card attacks with two or less energy, retreats with one energy, and deals solid damage with a lot of counter options in the kit (beheeyem punishes Pikachu decks by dealing more damage based on your opponents bench, Jynx counters a lot of the mythical island and fire meta cards by dealing more damage based on the energy attached to the opponent's active pokemon, and Florges just does steady 80 damage for 2 energy, while healing all your pokemon. I play it with slab and sabrina, and don't even bother with Geo. It has a pretty solid win rate for me too. Oh yeah, and no EX cards is always nice.
i actually pulled my first god pack earlier today, with two rainbow darkrai ex and dawn, i dont even have the four diamond one yet LOL, so yk ima aboutta go crazy with this deck flexing my rainbow darkrais
Been having a decent amount of success with Garchomp/Wigglytuff EX. The double energy is still a problem, had a game where I generated 11 fighting energy in a row, though Dawn does help somewhat. If you power up Wigglytuff EX first with one type of energy, then only generate a second type later, you can use Dawn to color fix the energy on the Garchomp, or other dragon pokemon for that matter. Again, doesn't help when you only generate one type of energy, but dual energy doesn't feel as bad as it did before
Oh I didn't know about the energy zone limitation on Darkrai. No wonder people aren't running it with Dialga.
There was a 2 star darkrai in my wonder picks today. Didnt get it though...
I'm cooking something with pokeflute and Victribell / Exeggcuter EX that slaughters Manaphy decks and dark decks. You just keep rezzing their basics and KOing them with Victribell. Exeggcutor EX is a good start if you get him.
I’ve been running one chatot + two aerodactyle, a kabutops, and a omastar. But with the new rampardos I’m going to rebuild the deck. I just have to get the cards I need
My favorite deck right now is scoliopede evolotion X2 Weavile and Darkrai.... I wish i had a 2nd Darkrai though....sometimes it gets bricked.
Unconventional 0 EX Deck
2x promo mankey
2x A1 Primeape
2x Rampardos
2x Lucio
2x Riolu
2x cranidos
2x Skull Fossil
2x Professor's Research
2x Giant Cape
2x PKMN communications
You could wipe the mankeys and jam marshadow + Hitmonchan + 2 x speed.
I would rather go Ape.
How do I get the gren line?
Darkrai is my number 1 want for the set. 50 out packs of dialga packs in and 0 Darkrai. Really dislike the system they have used for this game.
@@Nellyson5000 hey I need a palkia ex if you have an extra I’ll trade a darkrai ex

Tried out this Deck its so fun ❤
I made a chip city deck with one darkrai, 2 greninja, and 2 weezings instead of Drud. Its doin gr8
Can you provide me deck list
@@Lucky_777_Wins I then throw in 1 communicator, 1 cyrus, 1 cape, 1 koga, 1 leaf and thats about it
7:42 dusknoir doesn't care about how much hp he has left, even if he has 10hp he will fully restore the active pokemon or in this case gengar but surely I don't think that deck can run playset of both evolution lines
I feel like stage 1 and stage 2 is referring to the previous stage. That actually makes sense. A Gengar is actually a stage 3.
What is the purpose of dawn in this deck
I did this deck but with Weezing koga instead and it’s so mean and unbelievably fun, it stalls even better that Drud and does more damage so it’s also more aggressive. I’ve won games so quickly cause of Weezing you should try it with Weezing. It’s the ultimate chip city.
@akamoofossa4749 Do you know if Poketools on Wheezing get bounced to hand with Koga?
I only have 1 Darkrai Ex, but i have the regular one so im using it. But not having a rocky helmet/dawn is something that would make the deck that less effective?
Really nice deck, I'd axe the dawn for another rocky helmet
i really hope you see this. its a really aggro deck that consists of pachirisu 2x. potion 2x. sabrina 2x. cyrus 2x. giovani 2x. poke ball 2x. all the tools 2x. professor research 2x. hope you make a video on it! thanks.
That's called 18 trainer Pachirisu and he's faced it before on stream. It's an icky deck.
I have seen an interesting version of this deck that is more stall with dusknoir instead of greninja as dusk can heal up your front line. They probably are about the same strength with the dusk version just bulkier
Dusknoir is actually way better than I thought since it will always heals full even if it has less health example if only had 10 hp and you active was also damaged to 10 hp dusk would heal you active to full and die but with darkrai that could be a trade of 130 or 150 hp for 10 so pretty strong not overly op but still cool and unique
I like dawn but I feel like it only pairs well with x speed decks or giratina, you’re not very often I feel like gonna have two energy on frog or drud unless you lead and then dawn the next turn
100% run giant’s cape instead imo. Tried the deck but didn’t like the look of dawn so did that instead to avoid ohkos from yanmega and all the 140 hitters running around like gyra and ape. Never had a situation so far where dawn would have been good, had several where cape clutched the game.
Scorpion aproves Cyrus move 👍
I was playing this exact deck on missions but with 2 helmets and without Dawn. Don't have her yet 😅
Lucario, Marshadow, and Marowak EX. If you get both Lucario up, then you do 120 per heads, 130 with Gio. And Marshadow will do 140 in revenge. I've one shot Palkia from full health with Marshadow and Gio
8:20 Well there's still no way to adjust your energy types. The only way to generate water/fighting energy beyond that is Misty/Brock. So you either have to hope you don't get screwed over by the 50/50 energy distribution (I just came out of a game where I was given SIX water energy in a row), run an all fighting deck with a water type to use Misty on, actually flip heads with Misty, and then use Dawn/Manaphy to give the energy to Garchomp, or run an all water deck with a useless Onix to give fighting energy with Brock and then Dawn the energy over to Garchomp.
It's a gross lack of competence that they still haven't given even the slightest method for making dragon types work whatsoever. Every bit as disgusting as the trade system implemented.
Look, hear me out spragels. Pikachu is gone, manaphy, articuno, and BIG KING EMPOLEON! He has 150 hp, attacks with 80, and targets 30 on the bench for three energy! He’s amazing
Empoleon only targets one bench and being stage 2 makes it incredibly inconsistent it basically does the same as articuno but with targeted bench damage.
No real reason to use empoleon over any of the better options like palkia, starmie or vaporeon in the deck you described plus articuno really just does the same thing without filling your deck with a full evo line
I’ve been liking Chatot, Rampardos, Aerodactyl EX.
Only basic is a single Chatot to cycle into your fossils.
If you’re running non-EX decks, Spiritomb is a fun sub for Darkrai.
i love magnezone and electiwire
Honestly I have been using an all dragon deck and it's super dumb but also super fun
Try StarChomp Deck, Starmie and Garchomp 💯
Magnezone variation still dominates xd
Chip Skylark 🦷✨
New charizard deck is new meta. He totally destroy everything from turn 3.
Darkrai is scary
I'd you have a discord for trades? I'm trying to figure out how to trade for something I'm actually needing. The game doesn't make it easy without external apps. Idk why the in game trade system doesn't let you prompt for what you are looking for or something
The legendary psychic Charmeleon.
Is Dawn even necessary in this deck or am I missing something totally obvious here? All energy (ideally) goes to Darkrai. Is it just to mitigate energy investment if Darkrai doesn't show up in the early game? That's the only real use I can see for it in this build. I'd sooner play 2 PokéCommunications if that's the case.
So confused why that guy wasn’t attacking in the first game with his friskie/frogadier
Purugly, porygon z, and rotom fan and dialga ex
Thanks for this deck finally i can build a new deck as f2p.
Why would first opponent not attack with froakie?
Why was the first guy not attacking?
Finally someone saw it.
Does drud and rocky helmet do chip damage to a darkrai if it uses his ability
no, it's only when a pokemon directly attacks
Have you tried using Blaime with Magmortar?
It says on Darkrai's ability. From Zone, if it works from the bench that would be broken. LoL.
Main question is why is darkrais n weviles weaknesses grass???
green energy = grass and bug
@ ohhhh shiii thank you
16:08 it’s one of my nitpicks with TCGP. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put a Drud in a deck and forgot that the game automatically puts Fire and Water energy in the deck…
obv you are an advanced player, its not made for your convenience but for the convenience of new players. listening to your "nitpick" would make the game worse. this is totally on you, us pros we can only blame ourself. you dont check your energy while building a deck?! thats so bush league
Jeez, dude. It was just a small nitpick, it’s not that deep…
@ i agree but that nitpick isnt even thought out
I wouldn't call it unconventional, but I've been trying to get Gallade ex to work. Obviously I have Lucario as well, but I've been using Regirock as a wall and late game attacker. Gallade's energy is under curve, so I can put an energy on Regirock to Leaf it out, although most of the time it just gets KO'd anyway. Giant Cape on Gallade, Rocky Helmet on the first Regirock. Chip damage from Rocky Helmet, plus Lucario boosts help Gallade take down Weavile, and from there Darkrai isn't much of a threat. With 2 Lucario, Gallade can one-shot Mewtwo if it has 2 energy attached, with the Cape helping it not get one-shot.
