Everything about this video is wonderful. Michael's smile and Sam's bow at the beginning, the toaster, Spine playing bass, the twins moving in tandem and - of course - JuJu Magic!
This is probably my favorite song they've ever made, it's just so upbeat, the funk flows extremely well, every live performance finds that spot for freestyle...I know it's the Jon's written song and they don't play it anymore out of respect (aside from the 10 year anniversary where he shows back up), but sometimes I really do wish they would cause it's just so damn fun
The main difference between The Jon and the rest of band is that he was never hiding how much he enjoyed every second of his own songs, his expression was so genuine. This is one of things that makes me, and many others, I think, love this cutie so much. Also, even if that's pretty cute, I think that giving Rabbit this toaster was kinda stupid, 'cuz she lost her beloved Jenny so quickly, and now someone's just giving her a new toaster, I just find this rude. Well, at least it would be rude if it wasn't just a lil' story :P
ive never thought the The John had a song that focused more on him... It wasnt until i found this song and poked around that i saw they official spg page had taken it down :( thanks for posting!

Spine on my GPS saying recalculating....oh crap, I just woke up...(sigh) Rabbit, you haunt my dreams. The twins tear me up until I am just shreds. So awesome!
From what I've heard they took JuJu Magic down because they felt it no longer accurately represented the band. As for it being The Jons' song it is largely him singing it and quite possibly the song he receives the most focus in.
For their song, "On Top of the Universe", they have an entire sketch about how Rabbit fell in love with a toaster named Jenny. She was on sale at Sears! She could toast, like, 6 bagels at once. The year was 1992, and Jurassic Park hadn't come out yet... Best thing is to just look up SPG On Top of the Universe. :P

I have no idea. All I know is that Steam Powered Giraffe took their "Ju Ju Magic" video off of youtube when Jon left, and I haven't heard them play the song since.
I'm as a little confused about this: if it's the band's song, as a whole, how can he just take it? Roger Waters didn't tell David Gilmour that he couldn't play anything off of the The Wall on his own. How is this any different?
Alas, Jon, love him as we may, is not Roger Waters. I think they just don't really want to, out of respect, seeing as it mainly focuses on him. I'm still kind of annoyed, as they could've rearranged it in some way, especially seeing as Jon didn't do much musically after SPG.
And to add to this long dead conversation: the separation wasn't the most amicable from what I remember. Neither party may /want/ to dredge that up, as good of a song as this may be.
...I can only imagine what the non-fans of the audience were thinking when that fan gave Rabbit a toaster.
