- This is the only the last 15 minutes of Steve's Conversion story. In 1994 Steve Ray and his family went from Baptist to Catholic. Learn why they converted and discover what Steve thinks about his protestant brothers now that he can recognize the "ship and the rafts."
I received my Primary and Secondary School education in a Convent School. I was finally Baptised after attending RCIA during my Retirement at age 58 !
I always cry and laugh listening to Steve Ray's powerful conversion stories.

It is remarkable how similar this analogy of the ship and rafts is to the story of the Israelites in the desert wanderings.

My mother once are Seventh Day Adventist....
Mr. Ray, I was born of and raised by a Catholic mother (who herself converted to Catholicism at age 15, alone since she was second from last of 9 siblings who were non-theists). For 30+ years since teen age, I put away this gift. I even said that by baptizing me into the Catholic faith when I was a baby my mother set me up for failure because now I couldn’t say I do not know Jesus, so according to CCC I in my knowledge of Jesus, I reject His Church. My mom passed almost 20 years ago probably in tears for what I did. In the last 3 years I, in “defense” to my leaving the Church, I argued my position with someone who for many would probably be consider “outsider” because he has SSA. Yet he stays on the Ship and chaste (my close friend one day reacted strongly on Catholic’s teaching about his cross, she said, “nu-uh, no way, that’s cruel a punishment.”). And suddenly last year closed to my birthday I realized that of all her belongings in this world that she passed on to us, her children, and really she did not have anything you could even sell a garage sale to amount to $5, THIS is the treasure, the most valuable, like finding an original Picasso in your own attic.

@@d.a.tsun5104 Having Same Sex Attraction is NOT a SIN. But what is a SIN, is if that someone *FORNICATES* with the Same Sex. Although BOTH Heterosexual and Homosexual relationships are both CONSIDERED a SIN OUTSIDE Marriage.

I only meant that people with SSA would usually 'walk out', leave the Faith, either to (be able to) keep what they consider 'inborn disorder', or from feeling guilty or 'shamed' (or truly being shamed by the other members of his/her church) even though they did not act on that disorder. This person I mentioned did not act on his SSA. He stayed chaste and remained in the Church even though sometimes he felt very lonely. The talk I had with him was what brought me back to the Catholic Church.

So, why did the Gospel of John take so long to come out?
The Apostle Paul wrote that whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed. Do Catholics teach the same gospel that Paul did?
First, let's look at the teachings of Christ, "This is eternal life that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." No talk of baptism here (though baptism is important). No talk of communion (though that is important as well). Salvation, then, is predicated on one thing: do you know the Lord? For example, to the condemned, Christ will say, "Depart from Me; I never knew you."
Yet, Catholics teach that you cannot be sure of your salvation. However, how can you know the Lord and not know it? John 14.23 says of those who love the Lord that, "My Father will love them and we will come to them and make our home with them." Is God both family and friend to you? Do you have that kind of relationship with God or simply 'know about God'?
For example, I know who the President is (and I pray for him!), yet I do not know him personally. He is not like family and friends who are there in fun times and sorrow, who call me on bad thinking and poor choices, yet who overwhelmingly love and encourage me. Yet, is Christ both friend and family to you? Is He your good friend or do you feel more comfortable 'talking to Mary'? On that great and terrible day, will He welcome you into the joy of your Lord or will He say, "Depart from Me; I never knew you"?
A simple - and honest! - reading of the Bible will convince you that Catholics contradict the words of Christ. I write this in great love and concern that those who read it may obey the words of Christ. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Catholics COMPILED and *CANONIZED* the Bible. WITHOUT the Catholic Church there will be NO Bible.
@@Darth_Vader258 Your thinking seems to be that, since the Bible was codified in Rome, therefore the church in Rome is infallible, that we should trust whatever the leader of that church says? By that thinking, since the gospels were written in Israel, the Israeli church is incapable of any theological error. Where do Catholics get such an non sequitor, such an illogical conclusion? Who do you recommend I follow, the Apostle Paul or your doctrine:
The Apostle Paul: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10.13)
Catholic doctrine: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall NOT be saved (i.e. baptism, etc., are necessary for salvation).
Christ died on a Cross so that, just by asking, we may know Him. Do you know Him? Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

the question is, how did you come to learn about Christ and everything you know now ? did the Bible just drop in your hands? i doubt that. I think if you have passion to preach like this to Catholics then you need to delve into studies of origins of everything that you say...plus, don't just give the Bible as your proof because what you know from the Bible is what the saints compiled for you...yes, St Jerome and all!
@@teejah7785 Hi. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Bible was written by Matthew, Luke, Mark, John, Paul and a few others. They mentioned nothing about your pope, they forbade the bowing to statues, and Mary is just another believer. In the fourth century, since there were so many fake gospels floating around, some brothers got together and sorted the bad from the good. These men, along with those who, by the Holy Spirit, wrote the Bible, would be ashamed by the doctrine of your church. You have strayed from the faith. You have become like the pharisees, replacing the Word of God with the traditions of men.
Jesus said that if we continue in His Word, we will be His disciples. May I ask, when is the last time you read or heard the gospels? For me, it was not even a half an hour ago. Which of us is continuing in the words of Christ? I do not call the pastor of my church 'father' or 'teacher.' Who is obeying the Lord on this matter, you or me?
Jesus said, "Ask and you shall receive." Simply by asking, you may know the Lord, be born again, filled with the Holy Spirit. Ask and you shall receive! You have distorted the purity and simplicity of the Bible and are your posts are treasonous. I hope you will make this right with the Lord!
Just as the Israelites, bitten by poisonous snakes, needed only to look at the serpent on the pole, so it is that whoever looks to Christ shall be saved. Through the Cross, we may know God - just by asking! Cursed be anyone who perverts the true gospel of Christ. I hope you will make this right with God before you stand before Him.
The Holy Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am a child of God (Romans 8.16). If you will let the Holy Spirit teach you directly from the Word of God (John 16.13), you won't be concerned about how you will do on that great and terrible day when God judges the earth. How will you do? Are you insecure? Be born again and you will know God! Those who are in the family of God know Christ! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
💕💔....Cyndi Robinson....cuz he is so very entertaining, I really enjoyed listening to his story....however he gave No reason, Bible reason, Why I should change to the C church....not one Bible verse that tells me this is the True church.... I want to Know why I'm wrong and He is right.....💔💕♥️
This was a quick testimony. You need to watch his longer videos such as, "By Faith Alone" He knows the Bible very well. But we also have centuries of teaching by the Early Church Fathers who followed the Apostles.
Read his book Crossing the Tiber.
John chapter 6 explains the Eucharist.
James chapter 2 faith alone is dead.

It's extremely unfortunate that this man is declaring that all the good things he got came from the Catholic church because all the truly good things flow from Christ, through the indwellimg holy spirit that resides in the heart of a truly born again person and all authority is distributed through this same spirit.
This man is sadly extremely confused about what the ship is and what the other side actually is because the ship is the spirit, and the other side is arrived at when you are actually in the spirit and no longer in the flesh and you cannot get there unless you listen to the spirit of God for all direction and counsel which teaches you all truth and reveals all truth about the scriptures and what God himself desires of your heart, mind and life in each moment.
This man jumped on the wrong ship and doesn't even know what the ship is and where it's heading.
The ship is not of this world, it is of the heavenly realm which is the true spirit of God we must enter and remain in, and that ship/relationship is spiritual in nature and from it you are led and taught all truths that advise you to depart sin, darkness, the world, rebellion, and all places man's rebellions have driven him, so that you may deepen your intimacy with the true spiritual light that is only found in Christ.
Very very sad testimony here of a man who found some other ship and doesn't realize it's not the actual heavenly ship at all but the world's creation made by men like many others.
The true ship is the oneness between a man and God's spirit and only on that ship are you heading the right way, so don't be confused about denominations and man made versions of things because they are distortions of what God actually desires and made.
Seek out God created truth and things only, and man made things have the authority of men in them, and God created things have the authority of God in them.
God calls a man to lead and gives the man authority of God through the spirit to accomplish the work God desires, these churches ignore God and what he's doing spiritually to look externally at the physical church and just assume God's given true authority to them when this is not how it works and you can tell who has the true authority of God because they live , speak, walk in harmony with Christs teachings, and they are filled with the fruit of the spirit, and they don't do whatever they want but move along with the spirit in all matters to those things that build up the spirit only.
Everything a spirit led man does serves God and the kingdom and they shine the light of Christ, they aren't cracking jokes on stage to make the dying people laugh and it's not comedy hour.
The spirit reveals the people are dying and is very serious when speaking to the believers and desires them to hear from the spirit not listen from the flesh to fleshly things.
A man deep in the spirit has denied himself, the self is withered and the life that's operating in the person is the spirit of the Christ, and Christ acts vastly different then men, his agendas are different, goal are different and it's clear here that this man's testimony is one where he got onto a ship, but not the right ship because if it were the right ship he would realize the right ship is spiritual.

So I what are you trying to prove your church is Protestant and man made so people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
In the first place, you, sadly do not understand what a METAPHOR is in the English Language.
Secondly, Steve Ray DID NOT "declare that all the good things he got came from the Catholic Church " . He compared, that the 'RAFT' got their basic equipment FROM 'THE SHIP'.
Thirdly, you have NOT even examined the SHIP and scrutinized IT but have CURSORILY, prejudicedly , DECLARED it to be NOT waterproof nor weatherproof.
Fourthly, YOUR SHIP , to you, is the " RIGHT SHIP" , in your own words.
However, you have not even DISCLOSED your affiliation i.e with which religious institution or spiritual community but you have referred to it as " the right ship"
Fifthly, I notice that Denominational or non Catholic Christians love to use the following phrases against Catholics - born again , worship in SPIRIT and in TRUTH ... -
as if Catholics are not doing that ! That, shows your understanding of Catholicism is superficial, most likely what you received from your Pastors.

The winds blew and this man became Catholic, maybe his house was never built on the Rock. In the end denomination means nothing... you are either one in Christ or not.
John Smith the Catholic Church is Christ’s Bride. His Body. It isn’t a denomination it’s the original and it does matter. Who carried the message for 15 centuries before Luther supposedly fixed things? I was as an Evangelical till I got sick of 30,000 different denominations because of 30,000 different interpretations of Scripture. So I went back to the first Christians to see what they said about the Faith before they even had a New Testament to read. Brother, it’s all there. Bishops, Priests, Mass, praying for the dead, intercession of the saints, apostolic Authority and succession. Eucharist really the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. The early church was Catholic to the core and it was long before any imaginary Constantine apostasy. Do you even realize the books that belonged in the New Testament weren’t even decided on till 393 AD. By the Catholic Church? That was 80 years AFTER the edict by Constantine legalizing the Faith. So if there was an apostasy by the Catholic Church it happened well before they discerned the New Testament. So the book you bet your eternal life in was put together by a church already in apostasy if the Protestant version of history is correct. Which means you can’t trust your Bible because apostates put it together. Which means since you’re entire faith is in the Bible you really have no reason to trust it.
