I also found the e945 cable mic the mei winner. the middle ground between them has the best of both worlds.
For vocals and instruments there's the same rule - use a decent cable - starting roundabout 30-35 euro for 10" cable

I highly recommend this microphone for rack toms. Probably one of the best microphones I’ve used in toms. Mind blowing sound and tone.

Fantastic - really good. Really good video. Sorry I only saw this now. My comment is 4 years late. I think the e945 with cable sounds the most complete, followed by the D1, then the EW 100 G3 version.
Maybe some differences in them. They all sound pretty close the same to my ear. Great shoot out. Great vocal work
You have a great voice. Take care of it. Love those microphones, but I use a SHURE SV200 and a WORK HM100 Wireless Microphone. I had to use SENHEISER Microphones in other stages.

E945 wired had the best performance with clarity and cut right through the mix.

Well this is suprising... the wired is best for sure.. I was surprised how the digital system lost all high frequencies. I was expecting that it would be better than analog in this regard (maybe the sampling frequency is not high enough).. The analog wireless i can hear a lot of compression. Still sounds good..

Ewd sound clear than g3 but of coz u can't compare with the cable... Btw good video 👍👍👍
har først set denne gode video nu og alt lyder godt og trådløs mikrofon er kommet langt, men alligevel foretrækker jeg mikrofon med kabel som lyder mest dynamisk bedst - flot sangstemme.

great review! to me, the digital one sounds more clear.... i might be wrong... i had the analogue G3 Sennheiser a few years ago and i liked it a lot but it used to be really heavy... today i got a neumann kms 105 and it sounds great to me as well... i also have a shure UR2 beta 87A and it sounds really great too
If you have to choose one, which ones Shure or the Neumann for home use? Thanks
@@michaelphan5728 i think it depends on what you expect to get from them! Both mics are great, but the neumann, for instance, is a condenser mic which makes the sound to be better… i like the aound of neumann but when i use it with in ear monitors, for example, it bothers me because i can hear everything from the stage… shure is great too! I like it a lot! So i think it’s more the kind of capsule you’ll use… today i have a sennheiser skm 5200

Great stuff... Is the Sennheiser ew 100 G4 digital or analogue? My head's melted.
Digital system sounds the best! I think that You simply sang better with it.
However ..I believe that the reasons for that are not technical. It was psyhological - a self fulfilled prophecy. You sang with it the parts of the song that are in your vocal "sweetspot". That's why it sounded better.
Well. The cable was the best, then digital for clarity.

why do you compare 945 vs. 835 ? A better test would be 945 analog vs. 945 digital.
All of the three mics are e945s, why do you say that?

Wired e945 has a deep tone and sounds good, wireless e945 digital has exact sound of the voice and needs special effects or reverb, and both 945 analog sounded like with some effects but with a little bit of noise. I like the sound of e945 but I prefer the wireless digital just to get rid of the cable. All the mikes sound good but you'll hear the difference during comparison.

Personally I didn’t like the digital sounded very tinny and unnatural,,,loved the cable microphone,,,,could somebody tell me the difference in capsules,,,ive tried the shure microphones and to me they are no way as good as Sennheiser,,,my favourite is the e935,,,sounds so natural,,,what’s the differences between e935 and e945,,,I did recently try a wireless Sennheiser but I found it over complicated with the settings,,,I just want to sing and the sound wasn’t as good ,,,,what would you advise ,,,,would love a simple cordless version of my e935 ,,please help
The factory settings on the Sennheiser are pretty good.
People get caught up in the amount of options that the Sennhieser wireless systems have and its not as bad as it seems.
The only things you need to do are go into the settings and press the up button 2 times, press "set" and do the easy setup. Scan and then pic a frequency, press the synch button and hold the mic up to the IR window.
Its pretty simple. This is a thing you need to do every time you use it because you need to find a clear frequency.
When you scan the wireless it finds free channels that you can use and then you don't have to worry about dropouts.
I have a sennheiser 845 and the shure sm58 and we run karaoke with a wireless sm58 beta I love the sennheiser 845 when I sing elvis songs wired microphones the 845 is amazing with soft voices

Awesome review! I already have the sennheiser d1 but the capsule is only e845 and now im planning to buy wired microphone and thinking about getting e945. Do you know any microphone that can compare to e945 with the same price range and quality? Thanks

Analogue will beat digital only when you need the analogue inaccuracies and distortions
Ask a (non-'metalz'-head) guitarist with any significant experience, which kind of amp they prefer ... ... ;)
