  • Noah and I started the adventure at the Beech Bottom Trailhead located in the southern Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee. From there, we hiked south into the Cohutta Wilderness Area of the Chattahoochee National Forest, Georgia. The 4 mile trail winds through some of the most rugged and remote wilderness the eastern United States has to offer before it reaches its southern terminus on Jacks River Trail. The hike in took us about two hours. There were tons of trees blown down across the trail that we had to duck under and climb over. We hooked a left onto Jacks River Trail and followed it until we got to the first water crossing upstream of the falls. We forded the river and quickly found an available campsite adjacent to the river. After setting up camp, we threw on some shorts and crocs and headed to Jacks River Falls. This waterfall is one of the most popular backcountry swimming destinations in the north Georgia mountains. We give you a detailed view of the upper and lower falls and the surrounding area and cool off in the rushing waters below the waterfall. After swimming, we headed back to camp, ate dinner, and called it a night. Sure was easy falling asleep in the cool mountain air to the sounds of Jacks River meandering through the rocks. The next morning, we got up around 7:00 am, ate breakfast and took off upstream for some exploration. We found two more hidden waterfalls and did some wading and rock climbing to get there. Totally worth it! This was an incredible hiking/swimming/camping trip into the depths of the north Georgia mountains and I’m so glad that you’re able to experience it with us right here. Thanks for watching and we’ll see you on the next adventure 💯🤙
