I am around 40% into microcap, 30% into smallcap, 10% into midcaps and 20% into largecaps, all in fundamentally sound and growing companies amounting to less than 10. I know this is very aggressive according to Parimal Sir, but till the time my portfolio is small, and the amount of money I want to make, I have to go the risky way. My aim is not to buy a house, or an expensive car, or to retire early, my aim is to generate huge sums of money from the market. If the market falls, I will fall with it, but will rise with it as well if my conviction in my investments turns fruitful.
100℅ small cap rakho agar 10 saal investment rakhna hai. Zyada hi return aayga. Market high hoga tab sell kar dena 10 saal baad, accha paisa ban jayga.
Small cap and mid cap companies only going to be large cap in next 15- 20 years. All large cap companies were small and midcap before 15 years ago. Now it is investor's own call where you should invest.
Simply, If India grows then no one could stop the mid cap and small cap companies to generate the good amount of profit from the market. So, my portfolio is 100% in mid cap and small cap for 15 years.
Everything is rosy until you see a real correction, when there is a prolonged bear cycle capital of small caps/micro caps will be wiped off. Only if you have patience like a saint you survive.
I have a different take on it. The upfront valuation/returns is a result of the huge number of retail investors coming into the market. Yet, the people investing in the markets would be less than 10% of the population of today. With the retail investors increasing multifold every year, this over valuation may continue for many more years as the cash flow increases. Being an optimist here but also thinking from a different perspective 😉
My ratio is: 1. Nifty 100 Index Fund: 15% 2. ELSS Fund: 10% 3. Mid Cap Fund: 25% 4. Small Cap Fund: 15% 5. Flexi Cap Fund: 15% 6. Gold And Silver ETFs: 20%
This is not your ratio. Ratio must be based on stock investment not fund investment. Your midcap and small caps funds also have 20-30% exposure to large caps and flexi caps are anyways pseudo large caps only. So your actual allocation mid and small cap stocks, which I feel, will be less than 30%.
