  • This video is a compressed version of my 5-day trip that started at home in Luleå with departure at 5.45 on July 28. The goal on day one was Pensionat Helags in Ljungdalen.
Pensionat Helags was a perfect and incredible surprise. After packing myself into the room there was a hot sauna!!! The entire facility reeks of charm and an incredibly picturesque setting. The dinner was delicious and there were well-sized portions, which satisfied a starving road wolf.
Stage two started with a passage over Flatruet then winding roads through Funäsdalen down towards Sälen. I lost time and space along winding roads and some connecting dirt roads. Purely crass, it was a little more driving on the national road to get up to Grotli, which was my final goal for the day.
If you arrive at a hotel at 20.45, you have to hurry quickly to be able to eat the evening's buffet ;)
Stage three started with Old Strynefjällsroad! Wow!!!! Magical, wonderful a must. Then I drove south to take the Sognefjällsvägen up the valley to the area around Dovre. Here it ended with accommodation in a cabin for a paltry 500 kroner a night. The dinner was of a simpler kind in the form of a bun and Norwegian draft beer in a can.
Stage four was actually a transport stretch up towards Wildernessroad, but turned out to contain many fine stretches. I crossed into Sweden at the height of Gäddede on a narrow gravel road to drive over Stekenjokk down to Saxnäs mountain camping that same evening. What's better after a long day on the MC than some food, a hot sauna and a cold one :) Really fun to meet the owner and then a couple of years a familiar face in the form of Patrik.
Stage five, after a morning of sleep until 7:00 a.m., was to get via the stepped rapids down to Vilhelmina up along the inland road towards Arvidsjaur and then via road 95 down towards Luleå.
Was incredibly impressed how well the MotoZ Tractionator RallZ worked on asphalt and wet asphalt. It's been known for a long time that it was terrible on mud and gravel, but it's my clear choice for mixed adventure driving.
