We are working on becoming debt free, but DO allow ourselves some money to enjoy life. Yes, becoming debt free is very important to us, but tomorrow is never promised so if you don’t enjoy life a little you may miss out on something that can bring you great memories and joy.
The neighborhood that we moved to in 94 still has the best Halloween, they even have a FB page for it all. It resembles a fair, they close the roads to thru traffic etc. I live outside of that town now and no tricksters. Sounds like your ready for your trip! Have a blast! 🌻💛
I really like your longer videos but I’m beginning love these 10 minute Monday ones to . I’m so happy you are bath filming what would I do without a Marlene video it helps get me though my week. I know it adds a lot to your plate but we appreciate it. I don’t mind the packing for vacation it’s the getting the house clean before I leave oof
. Great video take the snow back my friend got 4inches this morning in Colorado . Allow $ to enjoy life is short so fun is necessary 😀 . Had lots of kids for Halloween 🎃. Super fun
I’m working on us being debt free but I do have savings challenges for us to go camping a couple times every summer. It’s nice to get away.. I also save for us to eat out if we want while we are camping but sometime we just cook at the camper
I was debt free for two years until this July and I definitely still allocate 200 a week for travel. Most of my paycheck after bills goes towards all the savings challenges that pay off the mortgage. So still gazelle intense, but you need to allocate some money for a fun trip, a weekend getaway, visiting somewhere warm in the middle of winter or just enjoy a concert. ❤
Hello Madeline! So sorry for the late response! I think it is so important to still have money for fun! Now, it doesn't have to be a ton of money if you don't want it to be...but still have some fun!
Working on becoming debt free but still plan a couple vacations. One was just a one day trip to Disney and the other is a cruise where my mom pays for the cruise I pay for excursions, soda and flights to fly my baby cousin down.
Great Video, I love these fast videos. I know you’re gonna have the best vacation. Our town does a parade where all the kids dress up and walk downtown for the business to hand out candy. It’s usually about 4 hours long. We had over 4,000 tricker treaters this year. Unfortunately a drunk hit 2 kids this year and they are in a fight for their life. I’m afraid the parade maybe canceled next year.
I think door to door isn't as fruitful as it used to be unless you live in a specific neighborhood where everyone agrees to do it. Our city has events as well, we took my daughter to the downtown trick or treat with all the businesses.
I received some Happy Mail today and I tagged you in my video because I received a Knockoff of your Georgette Savings Challenge Book . The all year savings book.
I am trying to balance life and paying off debt and getting an emergency fund all at the same time. Somedays I think I am trying to do too much all at the same time but I am making progress towards it.
We were doing this at first but I tried doing the 10% of our check every paycheck like Dave Ramsey suggested and I was able to save wayyy better that way then my original way. We still enjoyed life and paying on debt. But I’m also better when I have a set amount then trying to figure out different amounts for each paycheck. Just thought I would share my experience but keep going it’s worth it
We are working on debt but im done NOT doing anything else. I spent too many years living bare bones because there just wasn't enough money. So im saving for travel. I want to take a trip next year for our 10 year wedding anniversary since we never went on a honeymoon. Considering the Dominican.
I totally understand. It's so important to enjoy life! When we started our debt-free journey in 2020 we talked about having a balance of paying off debt, savings and doing things that bring us joy. I know some people do great with a gazelle intense Dave Ramsey style of debt payoff. It was not for us. I am so happy we were able to pay off our debt and still enjoy life!! I love that you are taking a trip for your anniversary!!
It’s cold and rainy here. And we MAY get snow tonight.. 😅 but this weather is wonderful minus how my joints feel lol. Same packing is TERRIBLE! So we only really travel for necessity, but I want to go to nj for my cousins wedding in February so I’m going to try and save some for the 1500 in plane tickets 🙈
@SnowGardener307Budgets lol. Well we bought them. 😅 I only have to come up with 442. It's just my mom and I and we got cheaper tickets than normal! Now that my fiance is working more regular, I'm trying again! I'm going to see about getting another little side job to see if I can get that paid down(maybe if I'm lucky my mom will pay for my ticket 🤭🤫)
@@bethsbudgets Wahooo...I am so glad that you got cheaper tickets! That isn't a bad amount to have to come up with! Here's keeping fingers crossed that your mom pays...lol! I know that is what my daughter always says! LOL
Ummm...I don't remember. She was looking at houses all over and showed me so many I forget where she actually bought. But she is flying in for my girl's brunch and I will ask her! LOL
9:14 hey Marlene!! Great little video! It went by FAST! I watch a lot of videos on 1.75 speed. 💞🫶🏽 oh fun! Vacation have fun!! I’m heading to NYC soon for a whole week 🧣🍎☕️
@ oh it was so much fun!! I rented a car the whole week so I was all over the place visiting family and friends and I did some have R&R time alone in an Airbnb in Upstate NY right on the Hudson River that was LOVELY!! ❄️☕️

That's so cool they shut the roads down. I'd love to see a Halloween like that!
Love this 10 minute idea, you're doing amazing ❤🎉
Thank you so much! I hope it's helpful. ❤

Hey hey Dianne! I know this comment is from awhile ago but I wanted you to know I appreciate you!!
I am divided about the 10 minute quickies. However, I just enjoy all your videos. Be great, stay safe, and keep on keeping on.
Thank you so much! I know some people love my longer videos but I am trying to change things up a bit. LOL
😊❤
We had about 40 trick or treaters. I dressed up in full costume like a cute bear for the littles. They were so surprised when I opened the door!
That sounds so fun! You must have made their night!

I love that you have camping savings goals!

We did two trunk or treats. First one we had 90 trick or treaters and then the second had 520!😮
Wowzers!!
Great video Marlene. :)

Yes but I save up for it with the challenges

That’s heartbreaking, I hope the children make a full recovery. What a shame! Sorry I am so late responding to your comment.

Yea things sure have changed!
I received some Happy Mail today and I tagged you in my video because I received a Knockoff of your Georgette Savings Challenge Book . The all year savings book.
Yes I saw this book and tried to get Amazon to take it down with no luck. Thank you though!
@SnowGardener307Budgets I am so sorry . I won't be using it in any videos out of respect for you and your hard work.

@AJthecrazycatlady thanks for sharing
It can definitely be hard to find that balance while trying to work on so many things. But just stay the course and you will get there!!
@SnowGardener307Budgets thanks for the encouragement. A month of consistency makes such a big difference. I am getting there
Hi Marlene 👋 great video 😊🩵
Hi, thank you so much!

On the ten minute video maybe chat before starting timer and do full 10 minutes then do change after that way we get full 10 minutes of challenges
Thanks for the suggestion. I am really trying to keep the videos to 10 minutes total!

😊😊
What part of Kentucky?
Ummm...I don't remember. She was looking at houses all over and showed me so many I forget where she actually bought. But she is flying in for my girl's brunch and I will ask her! LOL
