- In this new 3-part series from acclaimed film-maker Andrea Cossu, we follow Jacopo as he travels from Europe, to America and the UK to gain a deeper understanding of trad-climbing as an art-form, it’s diverse community, culture, ethics and history - exploring what ‘hard-trad’ actually means and whether, when push comes to shove, the grades actually matter.
Chapter 2 | UK
In our second instalment, Jacopo journeys to the birthplace of Trad. In the UK, he finds another culture steeped in tradition, ethics and a rich history. On his short visit, Jacopo tries to soak up as much variety as he can, by climbing on different types of rock and different styles of routes. Far from the powerful, but relatively safe climbing of the Yosemite cracks, how will Jacopo fare, when faced with the psychological challenge of one of the Peak District’s most dangerous and mentally challenging classics?
Flight is in 2 hours
Proceed to send E10 under rain
That nut placement at 9:28 is the stuff that makes my heart sing.
As good as a bolt.
1:30 i” barely remember my last 9a sport route” lol haha yeah same here^^
Good job guys.👏👍
GG Jacopo, great effort. Thanks, helps a lot!
That's a great episode, in my eyes much more informative than part 1. Well done.
Such a beautiful series! I love how it conveys Jacopo's pure love for climbing and the local history and climbing traditions. Amazing to see that handmade piece of gear. I grew up in the UK and the Peak District is one of my favourite hiking areas.
Great watch - smashed it.
What a great video capturing the UK weather and humor so well all in once. This was so good and I laughed so much. Thanks for James and Tom's appearance.
this series is beautiful thanks guys
Even their DEI course is beautiful too, try that too perhaps!

Bravo Jacopo! I live in Lancaster and often climb in the Lakes at Gouther and Shepherd's Crag, so seeing you there was magical. Sono felice che tu e' piaciuto la bellezza tranquila di Cumbria.
Melhor filme de escalada dos últimos tempos. Parabéns a todos os envolvidos! Melhor divulgação da escalada nacional
That communal climbing gear is really cool
Awsome. Loved it mental climb !!!
Great film 🔥
Voll schöne Serie. Glückwunsch Jacopo!
Great video! Climbing in the UK looks amazing! 😄
Amazing job 💪
love it! but hebrides or gogarth or some scottish mountain crags would have been even greater reflection of british trad! (although understand grit is a must as well........)
England has the coolest rock, climbing pig and a pokey has now become a vacation destination.
Interesting belaying at 7:18
The popularity of Gri-Gris and other such devices have made many people lackadaisical belayers
I have noticed a lot of top-end climbers belaying with Gri Gris like this
Grande uomo 💪!
As an American sport climber I’d love to visit the UK and be too afraid to climb anything
Just drop your grade a couple of notches, learn to place gear on rock your comfortable on, and enjoy the experience. Good trad gear is as safe as bolts.
Loved the video wish i could afford north face gear.
Love these series. London Wall E5 is in Peak District and not South Yorkshire?
Yes, correct
It is both Peak District and South Yorkshire.
🚀🚀🚀
Any chance knowing about the music tracks? Especially the one for Ilam Rock starting at 8'55''?
Ancora mani sudate per l'ultima protezione messa... ^^
Raise yourself to the level of the climb, don't bring the climb down to you.
Jacobo ftw
is capter 3 coming soon?
Holy smokes
Ya YDS with movie ratings is way more straight forward
Does anyone know the song at 9:30?
RACISTS!
?
@@TheoMagas north face charges an extra 20% unless you take their anti racist training video
