  • Here I clearly show 3 points on how to color a modern shag hair color! Follow along to be able to recreate this technique yourself! I showcase two different techniques, one more soft, whisper. The second more shout, scream technique. Follow along as I break down each technique that allows you to pick the best way to approach your hair or your client's hair.

Thank you so much. I am going to attempt this at home. Unfortunately, wasted time with a ton of videos prior to stumbling across yours which is the BEST . Love the cut and showing how both the whisper and the shout was awesome. You are so talented thanks for sharing. You just got a new subscriber.Keep rockin!

This was absolutely gorgeous. I just got a fresh shoulder length shag and love it but need to add highlights for even more texture.

Very good video. Your instructions are clear. The camera placement is fabulous. Sometimes it’s hard to see what the stylist is doing. This camera person gets right in there so we can really see everything. I like your brick laying technique and sectioning. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I miss going to classes and shows and working with others in the salon. Have a great hair day!

If you were doing just one of the techniques, would you still work in 2 sides, doing diagonal backs with the bricklay pattern? Or would you do a bricklay up the head in the back? Just wondering if the sectioning was for the purpose of the video or if that’s how you would do it on a client as well.

could i do both techniques in one hair? so the softer ones add dimension while the others add impact?

Hey Victoria, great question, and yes you absolutely could! Just use the mannequin head i did as reference.
