Thank you! Another online teacher that I really like was teaching this with an Emaj9 rather than Emaj7. It never sounded right to me and it was much harder to play. Now I’ll be able to play this!
Tennessee and I was a teenager in the 70s so far too many "favorite" songs to list but i was/am a big fan of all things Motown and this song is among my favorites. Thanks for the lesson!
angela hello, great song excellant job with your lesson, very impressed, they way you teach,im from watertown ny , maybe sometime with your lessens , how about could it be im fallin in love the spinners, the would be cery cool, thanks again, learned something from use, buffers...
I always enjoy your lessons. One thing I really appreciate is that you start with playing what you're going to teach. I'm just a mediocre guitar player but I'm a quick learner and pausing and repeating that opening play through usually gets me most of the way there. Still, I play the whole video (every week, even if it's not a direct hit for me) because your stats matter to me and I want you to keep it up! Most campfire strummers only add a few songs to their bag every year and you are responsible for some of the songs I play that get great reactions from my friends and family. Everyone has different tastes and different abilities and you do a fantastic job of teaching in a super encouraging way for a broad audience. I know that there are people watching who've learned things that they thought beyond them because of your comfortable presentation. For me, some of your videos absolutely hit the bullseye of my interests and skills and this one was one of those. Thanks.
Thanks for this! The first position sounds best, and it's important not to voice the G# on the high E every other time, which is more difficult than it sounds! Watching this, I also figured out the descending solo middle melody using the regular E scale. One of my all time favorite songs.
I've always loved this song but I would never even considered learning to play it on an acoustic. Can't wait to try it. Thank you Angela and congratulations on the 100K subs.
Great lesson on a classic song!!! I have a request: "Spooky" by Atlanta Rhythm Section. Great tune and vibe. Absolutely love your channel!!! Cheers from Florida!!!❤❤❤
Hi. I don't know if you will see this Angela, I'm from Shropshire in the UK. My brother and I and a couple of mates have started a band. None of us have played for 40 odd years. We are in our 60s. Trying to find good lessons on some songs is really difficult. So far I am using Tenessee Whiskey, Trouble and now amazingly I'll be around. All your versions. We are working towards a gig for my brothers 60th next May. I'll make sure we record our efforts and share them with you. Thank You So Much.
Je ne comprends pas l’anglais mais il me semble qu’elle est très bonne pédagogue. Il manque des tablatures car on ne voit pas très bien la position des doigts sur le manche…
Hello Angela i just found with this video your back with lessons it made me subscribe please keep it coming anything from Pearl Jam will make me watch it.Thank you.
130 am I'm tuning in with my guitar keys😂 I've been learning alot from your lessons problem is I can't pick 1 to do!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP! Keepem coming!!
Am I the only one struggling with those buffering fingers? 😅 I end up buffering the 2 strings I want to play as well . I'll keep practicing Angela . I love your vidéos . Hello from Montréal.
I think it’s just a touch thing and sadly it comes with practice. It’s like palm muting with the strumming hand. Again these are all theoretical , abstract concepts that I have yet to master. Master, ha how about even remotely get close to ! Don’t give up the fight tho. Day by day, step by step !
Whenever ya want me, Ill be there. Cool song, Cool new axe. Although Im not old enough to be around in the 70s, Ive heard that anything by Boston or Chicago could be the fave of this California Man. Also the song California Man (Cheap Trick) or any song by Cheap Trick (Theyre not from california either)
That's a smooth sounding lil didi Angela 👍 "70s tunes"??? What about? Up on Cripple Creek by: The Band... That's a funky sounding tune... I write, sing & play mostly Country & bluegrass music... I do enjoy watching and hearing you play guitar and I think you're a very pretty, & seemingly level headed woman... I'd love to meet you sometime when you come through Nashville... Merry Christmas 🙏
Great song choice from 1 of the Great R&B groups of the 70's 80's etc, so many songs from all types of music, Boz Saggs Lowdown is 1, also the Spinners Could it be I'm Falling in Love. Very good instuction, detailed etc very impressed that your teaching a R&B song, real good looking guitar, clean sound, l want your type of guitar only with a maple neck-What is it again l belive you mention it at the start of the video, also I'll be looking for more videos from you Thanks
🌠Good Video .. U Play the Song Well ..Love the Song..they just got in the R&R Hall of Fame..I was on the Zepp....Zoom last Nite ...Greg with the Black Beatles Shirt..Glad u Got Hand Warmers 4 Alaska..I'll be @ the East Coast Shows in April ..New Hampshire 1st U Rock & Cool Floyd Shirt ...Cutie Bear ...🐻🧸 I Subscribed 2 your channel...Boom !!!
Love that sound Angela. But not the sound I'm making 😂 But it's not going to beat me even if it takes me a year😁. Wishing you "A Very Merry Christmas and All" 🎄🎁🎅
Angela, help me find a left hand guitar teacher,or first left index finger slide teacher, ,,as I only have a left hand injury straightened un bendable index finger,,, ok I have all motion of mt right hand , but before my injury I was an right hand picking player ok, merry Christmas beautiful lady , thanks BigAl California.
This is a great song and you did a great job but the most important issue is the timing and where the chords sit in the bar and in relation to the lyrics. If you feel the music in eighth notes, all the chords are on the "ands", the weak beats.
Very nice! Love this flavorful ear pleasing tune... it's very memorable and timeless. Cool stuff allright! Thanks for everything you do and share Angela. It's so cool when talented musicians like yourself, take the time and share the knowledge and you do such a great job teaching the little tricks here and there. It is so important for people who are learning. Thanks again, great job!

I may have said this before to you, but it bears repeating…you are one of the very best guitar teachers on UA-cam. Maybe the best!
Third time on this lesson and I may finally be getting the octave process! Thanks for posting !!

Sahuarita Arizona. Favorite 70's song it "T.V. Eye" by the Stooges.
From Denver, Excellent instruction, how do you get that clean sound from your guitar like that, real nice looking guitar. Again Excellent!!!!
I've always loved this song but I would never even considered learning to play it on an acoustic. Can't wait to try it. Thank you Angela and congratulations on the 100K subs.
Love your method !
This one's killer. I'm digging it. The Spinners always had some great groove. Thanks for another good one, Angela! ✌️
So cool! Can't wait to give it a go on my acoustic!
Killer lesson, Angela! I love the performance of Roberto and Lemmo @ Norm’s too. Thank you for your lessons and sharing your talent!

Misery loves company. I'm relieved I'm not the only one!

Playing "catch up" here.
Fav song from 70's? Long Train Run.. Doobie Brothers!
The best version of this song was done by the late Australian singer Doug Parkinson with a very young Tommy Emmanuel on guitar.
Wow, really? I gotta check it out.
Here's the Doug Parkinson version. It’s superb. 🦘ua-cam.com/video/nRups2i1WEo/v-deo.htmlsi=9-UUVO89XDDzX21t
Hybrid pluck down/up the octaves. The open B string is your friend. Kinda faux Wes Montgomery. Great fun.

My favorite 70's song is probably Sister Golden Hair.

Do yourself a big favor and listen to 'I'll Be Around' by the Mills Brothers...
🕶
this makes me want to marry you. 😊
Am I the only one, that can barely hear her voice, on their phone ?🫢
