Actually, like most new Audi’s, when in neural and Stronic you can only rev the cars to 4K rpm. So they wouldn’t of sounded as good as the others which could rev into the high rpm range getting that iconic v10 sing

Thankfully got to drive an original manual R8 V8 once and its a genuinely fast car. Most don't think so but it really is. As Matt said the pick up is strong and it just keeps going. I'd happily have the older R8. Those V10's do sound stunning though. Style wise I don't think anything beats the GT Spyder!
R8 V8 owner here: few things I would point out. For sure v10 beats the v8, but the v8 was not used to its full potential in this video. The Engine should rev up to 8.2K when the engine is warm enough, if not, it's limiting you to 7K, you can clearly see in this video Matt hits the rev limiter at 7K and stops accelerating. All the V8 power actually comes at 7k to all the way up to 8.2K. I can launch mine to 100km/h in 3.8 sec, this car did like 4.8sec-5.0 because of the rev limiter. Super cool to see the difference, but would have love to see its full potential.

A customer let me take his 2007 Audi R8 manual for a blast after i did some work on it for him, was the most exciting thing I've ever done, first time driving 4wd aswell but so glad it was a manual, a 4.2 V8 with a near straight piped exhaust was absolutely mental and loved every minute of it.
Great video . Love my 17 V10+ , this new Audi DCT transmission is amazing , very fast response to paddle shifters and crazy fast shifts . I've had many cars with manual transmissions before and don't miss them much . Gated transmissions are nice for show cars and regular driving but they suck when it comes to performance driving. It's hard to shit them as fast as regular manual transmissions .

Well spotted the Last two R8’s from 3:02 weren’t warmed up properly, coolant temps weren’t up so more than likely oil temps were even lower!
