Man, I'm loving this series. These questions and explanation are super helpful. I'm not interviewing for an infosec role yet, but even just hearing some of the questions that might come up in an interview helps guide where I should focus my learning to prep for the future.
Thanks so much for sharing, Josh!

No problem, thanks so much for watching and sharing how they come in handy! It's good to kinda hear stuff preemptively. This is how I study for exams at WGU. Fail the preassessment immediately, and then study the material knowing what to focus on :p

one thing I wanted to add as someone who wrote a few: SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) can kind of act as a procedure (it's in the name), a standard, and an informal policy. On the enlisted side of things, I wrote a few SOPs, and while the commissioned officers were in charge of overarching policy, if something went wrong then a soldier's actions were measured against the SOP first and then they were asked to explain any discrepancies and divergence from that document. While the SOP wasn't the listed intent of the organization, adhering to it was the only thing that mattered at the lower levels of the operation so it didn't matter what the actual CO policy said. Because the SOP dictated how the policy was to be put into practice, our team's intent was just to complete the SOP 😄
    That's all non-cyber though

How many questions are in a cybersecurity interview typically?

It depends I guess. Sometimes there are fewer questions, but they are super convoluted, sometimes there are more, quick tech type questions. Just depends on the role :)
