1. While tempting to ignore before delirium, Patchwork Beast generates value so consider removing it early if we lack grave hate. 2. Assuming a correct mana base to begin with and no curve changes from sideboarding, we can (and often should) cut two lands on the draw. 3. We should rarely decline to trade Dreamthief or Enduring Curiosity vs. aggro since we are not the beatdown and they generate value even after dying.
Monoblack midrange gives me a good run for my money when I play demons. It's not noobish at depending on the other 56 cards. I can't win with dimir demons for shit.
If Gix is playable for card draw, and annex is playable in other decks for 2 life a card, why does no one seem to run Phyrxian Arena anymore? Especially in a low to the ground deck like this where you risk running out of gas?
Because they are modal style cards. Arena doesn’t fit as well in these lists like a 3/3 that starts drawing as soon as the combat it comes down, or in the Aggro match it chumps something. Likely after drawing you cards. I like the way gix plays over the curiosity personally, just a side note. In the use case of annex it can also make you a 6/6 flyer and at that point you’re gaining 2 and draining 2 from your opponent. With multiple annex’s and a demon you’re doing more damage with those triggers. Arena is just an enchantment that draws one for 1 life every turn. It doesn’t block, doesn’t make a body, just indefinitely allows you to exchange a life for a card once a turn. The other cards are adding more to the board and causing pressure to opponent. The uses of gix, and annex, over arena, are multidimensional. That is why they are “better” here.
Because annex can turn into a win-con. Think of arena as middle of the road for pro/con, whereas annex is a much higher pro with a much higher con. It's basically what you're comfortable with. That being said, annex has almost been the reason I lost a match before, but within the same game, swung all of the match's momentum back into my favor with it's drain.
In part it is because annex is also a finisher, not just card advantage. It's crazy to say but phyrexian arena just doesn't do enough. Edit: when you think about the demon deck, it works so well because there are so many cards in the deck that threaten to end the game. Annex is advantage that ALSO can kill the opp once you have a demon out.

Dimir decks are so much fun
#69 mythic, nice
Yet another entertaining BO3 video. I'm starting to enjoy BO3 more than BO1.
Nice. 🙂↕️
Better than #1😂
17:30 I think in arena you can go full control and ninjutsu kaito after the enduring triggers, before moving out of combat, should this ever be useful
I wasn't gonna watch cause I'm not a dimir player, but.....nice.
Whats a good anti demon deck? Its the most noob loser deck since mono red leyline, any suggestions what counters it the most?

will you ever play BO1 again?
