Thanks, I was wondering if this could be done but wasn't feeling brave enough to open and look inside, in fear of the springs going everywhere.

That was a really useful video, thanks for that. Will look to move the buckle to one of the lap straps on mine, and have the crutch straps optional. Cheers.

My thought also. I have Caterham harnesses by Luke, and the buckle is on a lap belt. The buckles do have a slot for a sub strap. I plan to have them rewebbed, as the straps are ancient.

Are 5 point harnesses an option? Educational video by the way. Thanks

Never been a fan of 5 point. They also tend to all come with lever buckles which I think are more fiddly. That would be fine for me but as this will be used on the road and occasionally have people who aren’t familiar with it as passengers, sticking with a quarter turn buckle was important.

Great video! I was wondering though why couldn't you simply just remove the crotch strap after you disassembled it and then reassemble without it? Sorry if this is a stupid question and I'm missing something

Effectively that’s what I did. It makes it so you don’t have to use the crotch strap, but keeps it as an option
