IS YOUR LAMP READY ?

This piece was done for a specific group of people I know and probably for all of us. The imagery came to me and I could not get it out of my mind. Sometimes we dont believe in our abilities and talents enough. If our talent is like oil to a lamp then we should let it burn brightley so we can see and others can see us. There is a jar sitting next to the individual and this is for extra oil. In my opinion it is our own personal responsibility to have enough creative oil to allow us to let our creative lights burn brightley and with longevity. Other people need it. You might never know how your lamp has brought light into somebody elses life just when it seemed the darkest. There has been several lamps in my life that have given me the ability to see and have allowed me to continue on my path to my future. I hope this dose the same for you.-Ivan

@369simsim I think it was just water and acrylic paint mixed. I did also use a varnish on the canvas to get the right consistency for the paints to mix slowly.

How I wish I had the resources to buy this painting back when it was for sale. I was actually saving for it every month, and by the time I had the cash, it was gone ! If the current owner ever wants to sell it, they should contact me for sure ! This painting speaks volumes to me.

I tend to stick to the same paint. Never tried oil over acrylic. I took some classes but am really self taught. Been doing it since I was a Kid. Started out as sort of therapy for myself, Kinda still is.

Just was wondering u have mentioned in yr earlier message.... u dont use oil color's....then how are u getting this effect with acrylic,are u using some dripping medium or something? whats that paint u dropping from the bottle?
