Even in these days.. Shinobido Way of the Ninja remains my favourite Ninja game that was ever create it, it still remains a hidden gem from the Old but Gold Era of PS2, no debate whatsoever... ☯️✌️
This game was and is still to this day my jam! Have a huge nostalgia the moment I hear the soundtrack, but even without the nostalgia bias I feel like the game is made with a lot of fun ways to experiment with, especially on repeated playthroughs with branching off mission and different endings.
I think they were trying to make a Ninja simulator, where you manage your Ninja however you want. But didn't stick the landing that well. This is in contrast to "Way of the Samurai" games, which are basically digital chose your own adventure games.
just to add this game have 3 endings one for each feudal lord you aid, and a 4th hidden ending were you need to gain the trust of all 3 feudal lords up to 95%
@@brianghostfury at least close to that with all 3, it takes time and no one spots you, and if you can get some gifts for the 3 lords that also helps, also i suggest you to look over alchemy guides, you'll find something to help you

Nah, I they on par with each other. They are just going for completely different takes on the concept. Tenchu being a slower more methodical grounded take and shinobido a more fantasy fast paced take. Kinda depends on your preference or mood at the time. The games are surprisingly on par in my opinion at least in quality, but just different flavors. I will say though, shinobido has a nice idea for the mission structure, but its story and intro tutorial stuff is all over the place. I mean, your first mission/tutorial is going to see your lord while killing all his guards... Senseless, and how you are taught is with all these pop ups that usually are miss timed or out of place with what is going on... Seems like a game with cool ideas, but rough execution. More experimental. Tenchu has a solid tutorial, and story is solid as will in a reasonable way. More cinematic. Lacks some of the crazier ideas the others has, but for what it does do it does very well. I kinda like both. Prefer tenchu overall, but love some of the cool things in shinobido. xD

Ok I thought I was the only one that did that same thing with the stealth kills haha! For the longest time I really though this was a spinoff tenchu game like how Nightshade is a sequel to Shinobi
She-noh-bee-doh Really love this game back in my highschool days. Recommended it to my college buddies here in the Philippines when they were searching for a better Tenchu game. If you completed ending of the game, you get the ability to play as other characters. You just need to bring the character's dead body out with you when you leave the map. I tried bringing the Bear's body, and I could finally play as the bear though with the MC's moveset.
I did buy the PS Vita game. Didn't know it was part of a series that hadn't seen a US release up to this point. I just wanted a good successor to Tenchu. Still waiting today, on consoles anyway. I'd like to see a vid on Way of the Samurai. Pretty fun. Samurai Western is goofy fun too.
it's kind of funny, your positive remarks at the end of the video, recommending to play the game if one has the time, paired with the traditional japanese music makes for a really calming kind of final message. It's not so much judgemental and comparative as other reviews but more like "I had fun with it because of these reasons, maybe you will too". I appreciate that kind of criticism.
I love tenchu z and I also f'ing LOOOOOVE the way of the samurai series, I need to check this game out. I really really really want to see the 'Way of the [insert]' series to return, such an interesting game design, especially in the way of the samurai games.
