🌈 my how times have changed. Radical of a 1960s and 1970s here. Generations nowadays don't have a clue what life was like back then. Nice job on the video, your fur baby is just adorable darling! Oh yes and so are you!
In St John's University my English teacher had us read a lot of gay literature in 1990s. I thought it odd for a Catholic University. The class was a lot of fun.
I had heard the term Mattachine Society before, but I didn't know what it referred to. Before this, my gay history knowledge pretty much started with Stonewall.
Nice work. I did not know the meaning of “matachine” before. Nice to note the generation change with Stonewall ‘69. Act Up comes next in the 80’s with AIDS, and turns the activism up to 11.
Binge watching everything. Would love a types of gays on a gay holiday or gay holiday tips video. As doing my first gay holiday next year in Mykonos but going alone so be funny to see what types of guys I’d see from your perspective 😂
Of course we know beautiful Harry but I've never heard of the Mattachine society. Harry was, and still is, a great icon from cradle to grave and sugar is more than fine. Thanks for the nice bit of history.
I honestly didn't know anything about it before watching your video. And I tend to watch as many documentaries as I can find about gay history in America. By the way like that your a devoted doggy daddy I'm one as well!
I'm so glad you told this story. I've been in the Radical Faeries since 98. I met Harry and went to many faerie gatherings over the years. In Seattle we had Faygela BenMiriam here in Seattle who was married to another man in 1972 because the law didn't say he couldn't. Wore a dress to work at the EEOC because it was comfortable, and made the best pot lemon bars. I love listening to the stories and I'm glad you are telling them.
My friend told me about the radical fairies. He's in Portugal right now and I recently met a neighbour whose brother is also a member of this community. Small world! Love and hugs from London!
Thanks for the very informative history lesson professor Mariano. Like some of the others, I had never heard of the Mattachine Society before. Your dog is absolutely freaking adorable and you looked hotter than usual in this video🥰🥰🥰 See you for the next one.😃
I am seeing your older videos as they popup on You Tube. We know You Tube spies on us, so tomorrow I will probably have 100 more vids on this subject! I have read about Mattachine several times and I have been to Stonewall. Your dog is very beautiful and apparently ravenous!
I am currently reading deviance war which talks all about this more in depth. If no one works at the convenient store then how do the shelves get restocked and the place kept clean? 😉
I am currently reading deviance war which talks all about this topic and more and definitely goes more in depth about everything. If no one works in the convenient store then how does the place get kept clean and the shelves restocked😏😉
Your a nice looking man. I heard of San Francisco 1960s gay culture and NYC Greenwich village gay culture. In the USA a lot has changed. We have amazing go store with no staff.
Patrick i was one of the 1970s crowd, we fought so that gay people of today could marry and get accepted in the real world, so its not perfect but we are getting there, thanks for doing the topic well impressed 😇
I recommend a mixture of Erythritol for pure sweetness and Monk Fruit juice for some complexity. Truly, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and cane sugar.
You have me wanting to move to Montreal I do speak some French LOL but I live in Podunk South Carolina USA near the beach believe it or not but near the mountains too
I knew nothing of that organization. Side note: that dog is a dachshund; they can eat anytime, anywhere, 24/7, and they do not eat slowly. They eat VERY quickly. It's just the way they are.
Im pretty sure that swedish schools these days talk alot about atleast sexual tolerance. My kids are extremely tolerant. My son and his friends even hangs out with a girl who identifies as a boy.
@@PatrickMarano im sorry but you know english is not my native language so sometimes i screw up (like the time in 94 when i thought that ”sharing space” meant to hug”
Actually, they *DID* teach us this (and a bit more). We learned the essential events, people, and places of the 20th century in school, so this is a nice recap. Before you get all hyped about your taxes finally being put to good use - private school. Sorry.
This story could of been told in half the time if u kept all the dog stuff for a different video. Don't get me wrong the video is very interesting and I did enjoy. Just cut out the crap
You're so sweet and cute all you have to do is stick your finger in that coffee and make it sweet LOL but sugar is good for you I've heard real sugar is good for you it's not as bad for you as people think but just put your finger in there and stir it around and that'll make it so sweet you so sweet and handsome
Thanks for doing this type of video. As a gay man I really respect the sacrifice and bravery of the lgbtq who fought for our rights.

I truly appreciate the sacrifice that you and so many others made, because I know I wouldn’t have been so brave!
allies have been such an important part of our gay history. thanks for sharing patrick 🙂👍🏼
I have seen a documentary on the Mattachine Society so I did know a little bit about it. Yours was better. And your doggie is so CUTE !!!
Thank you!

As it does with most people I think... (if that)
Excellent job, Professor! Our history is important.
Excellent Patrick, more of these please! Also, I love the little breaks of real life interspersed! Love your work handsome!
Thanks for the feedback Rick!

Your editing is very entertaining & creative. I got lost in the dog feeding! Informative, helpful & wonderfully done vids!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Please keep doing this. This is so important.
I had never heard of the Mattachine Society. But thanks to you and your great video, I am now informed! Thank you.
I'm so glad!

It's so unfair how pretty your mouth is. I literally can't stop looking at your lips! You need to do a video of your beauty routine.
Oh thank you!
