Getting advice from people who are failures isn't necessarily a bad thing. Many times it's people who know what they need to do but are too lazy to do it. The knowledge is there but the work ethic isn't.
I confronted a big shot at my former church about hitting on my best friend's wife. He got on elder board. Kicked me out. "Leadership" backed him up. / I ended up locked up in VA Psyche Unit in SHV for three weeks. / I don't regret it at all.

Hard no, this is bullshit. Just because you seek advice from someone does not mean you're obligated to follow it. I run into bad advice frequently, ignore it, go on to prove the advice was bad by succeeding down a different path, but somehow I'm an "askhole" for succeeding instead of failing in the way I was advised? Your head is on backwards, and anyone who has thought processes that others not following tehir advice, but still succeeding is bad, then the problem is that observer/advisor, not the person who recognized bad advice.
Nowhere in this video does it say you have to (or should) follow bad advice. Nowhere. In fact, it says the exact opposite starting around 4:30. Guess we know what you are.
I think we all have had an ask hole friend in life or even been the ask hole for someone, but what the colonel says is very wise, we should not be aware of those who do not want to understand, wisdom is too valuable to teach it to those who neither seek it nor deserve it. I've tried to explain to certain individuals that appeasing the problem child isn't going to change the behavior. It will only make it worse. But do they listen, no. As I have said in a past life, these people/ situations aren't going to change, so I have to change. That change may come in leaving the situation behind or removing the individual(s) from my life. Me changing means changing how I operate and what it will tolerate.
Can you tell us about service pistols? I'm a cadet and I need to decide which type of gun to buy. I know you're an old school soldier, but maybe you can give me some insight on this. Greetings from TR.

NEVER, EVER, give an askhole a job reference. That always ends badly. It's OK to point them to job prospects, but draw the line there.
