Great to see another strategy other than trying to hit the cover off the ball works well. Nole would be looking at this and be again admiring Ash because she knows how to patiently craft a point ! Those cross court floating slices few other ladies in 10 years of tennis have ever considered using. Its Ash’s signature shot.

Goes to show that physiologically, the grunt is not required to hit a tennis ball. Hence; grunts with an unacceptable volume should be penalized at the discretion of the umpire for two reasons. Firstly, they distract from the concentration of the opponent. Secondly, they are displeasing to the audience. Frankly, it's ridiculous that I'm even articulating such common sense but this is our new world where common sense takes a back seat to special interests.

Yes her foot work was the only one I am watching on her a lot of time . So elegant like Federer . Not unlike other players who wearing like a ballerina skirts but the way they open their legs after the use of their forehand . Really awkward .

Athleticism still has its advantages. Karolina tried her best but she doesn't have the sheer speed and easy power that Ash has. Loved how quiet this final was. I was dreading it had Sabalenka won.
