"there's some things on the surface that have come to surface that have come to fruition that need to be addressed" is a literary masterpiece that I want on my tombstone
I dunno about yoga or meditation "inviting demons", but having a white couch with such a dark tan is an invitation for stains to make suspicious brown splotches on your couch lol.
A lot of far-right politicians, commentators, and public figures have slandered Yoga as Satan-bait, but the only one I know by name is E.W. Jackson. It reeks of an effort to prime their fellow bigots in religious extremist circles to beat up on cultures that aren't stereotypically southeastern United Statish.
You can get injections which make your skin dark. There are crazy people who get heaps of them because they want to be black. But they just end up looking dirty and gross. Though if you get a normal amount you will just be tan. It makes your body produce more melanin. Im pretty sure they're illegal but people get them from other countries or dodgy doctors.
Her husband looks like the type of guy to tell me and my family to "speak english, bc we're in america" and still have a modern mexican wedding...whatever that means lmao
Anyone who mixes religion and political loses all credibility to me. US has no official religion so why should Christianity have any say in government decisions and laws.
Kaylin Bailey Fundies tend to think their Biblical values are the “law of the land,” I wouldn’t even blame it on Christianity as a whole, just the Fundies that take it to extreme levels. I imagine the majority of them aren’t too happy that the Church and State are separated in eyes of the law.
Christianity also strongly suggests that the only true rulers are God and Jesus, plus that you shouldn't idolize people. These are values that are in direct opposition to politics. Also, Jesus says "To Ceasar what is Ceasar's" a comment in reference to taxes. True Christians shouldn't be interested in raising or lowering taxes. Basically, neither side should be interested in the other, and if they are they are failing on every level ethically.
And then have the audacity to cite “separation of church and state” when people do anything besides what they want and like, but then they want to inject all of THEIR beliefs and ideologies in legislation. Bye. Start paying taxes then maybe I’ll believe that separation of church and state isn’t all bullshit
Bc christianty has long historical connections to colonialism and capitalism. Religion was and still is used as a tool for the upper class to control the peasants but they don't tell us this in public school. Religion no matter how they progressive one claims to be always suppresses change.
Horse people might be crazy (as I horse-adjacent person, they definitely can be), but they won't let an animal suffer if they can help it. And vet bills for a horse can add up quick, so good on them for doing their best to help him.
@@misscoati697 I was gonna say the same thing. They may be a bit much at times but they will go homeless to not let a horse, even a random horse they've never met, suffer. They are champs for that
@@misscoati697 really? Ok, I grew up in the horse world and I hated the majority of them because they were so horrifically cruel to horses. Between horse racing and how they're whipped endlessly and put down as soon as they're useless to using spurs that hurt the horse so much and shitty bits (metal part that goes into the mouth) that has all sorts of different patterns to make a horse obey as much as possible through bringing as much pain as possible through their very sensitive mouths. Over working horses in competitions like show jumping and dressage all for them to be out down or used for breeding (if they're considered good enough) as soon as they're considered "worthless". Like, I'm glad those people helped... But I think this is a very naive look at "horse" people, many don't care for the animal and only their ego. They'll use nasty spurs and bits and whips and saddles all get a "better" performance out of them. I used to see parents screaming at their kids to whip, kick and hurt their horse as much as possible until it complied; no matter how exhausted. This was all through Pony Clubs and competitions (sister did dressage and I did show jumping). You completely underestimate the brutality these people are willing to doll out in hopes of winning a competition. My mother was a bit more "enlightened" she only got the gentlest of bits, never used whips and banned spurs, but even so I feel it's so unfair to force a metal/hard rubber bit piece into a horse's mouth considering how sensitive their mouths are. And there are bit pieces that are *specifically* made to cause as much pain and discomfort as possible; many were popular. I've seen a horse's been pressed down so harshly that its mouth was literally just above being in between its front legs, all because judges thought it was "aesthetically" pleasing and you got more points for having your horse in such a position no matter how much they were suffering. Horses backs don't even mature until they're about 4yrs old, probably more. But most horses are ridden on their back so much younger than that despite it, it's why so many horses have a drooped and arched back; as when they were still developing they have been forced to work insane hours with a rider on their back while it was still GROWING. I think people see this as acceptable because it's insanely normalized for horses to be treated this way; they're a massive commodity and can make a person a lot of money. So their well being goes out the window. And because these a buses to horses are so normalized (like whipping them non stop during a race or using cruel spurs and bits) that most people don't think twice when a horse is mistreated. Because most of them are mistreated. Ofc I'm not saying all "horse people", but my god, it's certainly the majority.
Oh my gosh the James part, the fact that she doesn’t see how exploitive that is. If you actually had good intentions why did you film it at all? If you really wanted to help someone selflessly you wouldn’t post it online. Jeez.
Matthew 6:3-4, "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Literally, the Bible says not to make a show out of giving to the poor; they can't even follow their holy book. It would be okay to post an update about James after he had received the money, got settled in, etc..., but the infantilizing him and prying into what was probably a stressful and emotional moment in his life were not okay.
I always say any good deed you do and quickly tell someone about or post about it, doesnt count... but at this rate its hard for some to do anything good without a video or big Facebook post about it 🙄🙄 how about doing the right thing for the right reasons 🤔 😀
The fact that they chased after him after he booked it out of there before they were going to force him onto a plane to a different state across the country was pretty horrifying
There's a thing that my semi-estranged uncle does with my estranged aunt that helps unhoused people and like I saw them semi-recently and they were talking about what they do and how we can totally join them and they were just being purely excited. That's fine. Exploitation isn't.
It's weird that she says "poor Jordan" and not "poor Brody". She has more sympathy for the person who shot her dog than the dog who was injured and in pain for who knows how long and eventually got shot.
She still owes me money. This video inspires me to revisit the idea of a lawsuit, considering she's now moved on to scamming naive Christian girls who would sooner believe the devil himself is attacking Brittaney than believe she would scam them.
Depending on the amount she owes you, you may be able to file in small claims court which is designed to be easy to use for layman and not require a lawyer. (Not a lawyer myself so def look at the laws in your area).
Having been through homelessness, addiction, rehab, and recovery myself, I can say that this condescending attitude toward people experiencing these things is all too common... _especially_ from religious conservatives. It goes hand-in-hand with the love-bombing we also saw here. Brittany Dawn and her ilk see people like James as opportunities to "win souls for Christ" as well as to improve their own image within their communities, on social media, etc.
If she dug even “an inch deep”, as she put it, about that “witchcraft” photo, it’s from the Watermill in 2013, a school for art & performance art, and that was a performance art piece. 🤦🏻♀️ she’s covered in honey.
The fundie cult I was in back in the 80s showed an anti-rock documentary that condemned Pat Benatar's song "Hell Is For Children" by completely missing that it's about and against child abuse and focusing on an out of context looping of the refrain that says "Hell is for children." I had heard the song and knew they were wrong, but I was afraid to say anything. Of course, these people also followed the "dare to discipline" thing....
Like I get that she wanted it to seem like everyone was along with her for her day, but since this is all edited afterwards it seems sooooooo disingenuous
I swear, they talk about James like he's a dog they found on the street. It straight up sounded like one of those touching Dodo videos about rescue animals.
Thought just the same as you two. Felt disgusted by the rescue dog undertones, and then the Brody story started. Went from disgust straight to fearing for James's safety.

The dryer was annoying, but during her "he's cheating on me!" video, the beep of the fire alarm that needed a battery change was driving me battshit crazy. The dryer was nothing by comparison to me.
THIS. I missed what she was whining about bc my mind just started running amok. “How are there so many people that are just OKAY with that incessant low-battery beeping?! There has to be a Venn diagram… low-battery people & psychopaths…” AHHHH.
I NEVER hear people with larger platforms talking about disability rights, so I'm thankful to hear you acknowledge the real issues that we're "offended" by, like police brutality and discrimination.
It's so wildly unchristian to be broadcasting their "charity" like this, telling this man's personal business, recording him praying in the shower??? That is such a private, vulnerable moment, I would feel so violated if anyone did that to me
I want to "like" this comment, except it currently has 666 likes and I don't want to be the one to ruin that. But yes, that was one of the most appalling moments in the video for me.
I would love to see an episode on Dave Ramsey. Seems like everyone in the evangelical community loves him and everyone outside of it thinks he has horrible advice. Never was sure what to think of him.
I thought he was a harmless (but oversimplifying) financial guru, but then I found out that he’s made all of his money from his financial products and not in another business, AND he’s weirdly involved in his employees’ personal lives. I’d love to see a deep dive on him.
Second! From what I've seen, his basic advice about debt is useful, but he's very dogmatic thinks his plan is one size fits all. And his followers also tend to be dogmatic and inflexible in their thoughts about money. Plus, I feel like he heaps guilt and shame on people who don't manage their finances in the exact way he wants. For example,, debt is EEEEVILLL and you should never use it,, even to get a mortgage,, and if you do use debt your foolish. Very black and white thinking that treats the audience like children. He gives me toxic evangelical pastor energy, but the idea of saving an emergency fund and paying off debt is sound basic advice. Tlr: his basic advice is okay but the guy himself and his fans fail the vibe check.
@@marzipan2555 I used to listen to some of his show when I worked at a church. I just wanted to get some ideas about how I could save more money. One day the Pastor walks in and goes "Is that Dave Ramsey? I love his show!" This Pastor was the definition of bad with money. His spending gave me anxiety specially when he used the church card because it was normally somethingdumb he didn'tget approved. I thought, "um then why do you not listen to any of his basic advice, or any of his advice?!" I stopped listening to the show because something about it seemed off, the callers were the very much r/thathappened, also the Pastor wanted to talk about the show and I just could not listen to this man talk about finances.
Biggest red flag (to me) was the fact that they “documented” helping James. If they’d actually done anything to help him out of Actual genuine faith or generous heart they Would Not have post-shouted about it. At all. That’s like generosity 101; if you’re making a braggart-post about it, your heart was not in the right place.
God, it was almost like a performance art piece. "Look how kind and charitable we are!", they say while exploiting a vulnerable person for views and kudos
Also, like, they weren't willing to actually use their own resources to help. Just the money, time and resources provided by their online community. You know if he had gone to rehab and had needed lots of money and time to get healthy, they would have dropped him the moment he was inconvenient. Just like her pitbull.
i’m crying at the dramatic proposal video for a one year relationship, and the poor coffee shop employees who had to witness that entire performance. the silence from everybody is just 👌🏼
I used to follow a family that put together care packages for homeless people. They told/showed their followers how they put the bags together so other people could do the same thing to help more people, but when it came time to actually handing them out, there was no filming, and they didn't give any details about anyone. I wonder if they talked to James about putting him on social media, I sure hope they had his permission to share personal details about his life. Somehow I'm guessing not? =(
I seen a video of her saying that she was posting about him then all of a sudden stopped because he didn't want to be put on social media n his sister saying he wanted to be under the radar so badly that he didn't even have a Facebook.
@@sarah3796 I remember when her apology video first came out, someone made this video of her inside a dryer spinning around while her apology audio played😂 I can't find it now but it was so funny
the way they treated that grown ass man like a stray dog they found, i will never understand infantilizing someone going through homelessness, it is (in my opinion) the most alienating and horrifying thing in this already horrifying world to not have even a place to rest your head at night. the loneliness everyone feels at some point? that is constant and immensely more deep when you are without a home, i would never wish that on anyone especially because it is so preventable if the ppl in power cared at all about quality of life. makes 100% sense to me that her husband is the kind of officer he was then pulling something like this, playing hero but if james had been black they would’ve called him a crackhead and went about their oblivious little lives. the stigma w homelessness is just another level of disgusting to me. esp putting out to public that he not only needs rehab but that he at first was hesitant to go, like these people have no shame!!! all i can is gross.
She really said unfortunately that can't "force" him to go to rehab. I'm sure he needed some kind of professional help, but he's not a child. Maybe you guys ran him off.
Her saying there was no instruction manual for the fitness industry...as someone who has a Health/Fitness bachelor's degree from the early 2000s, I know that there are plenty of resources, books, websites, credit and non-credit courses and lots of certification options from reputable health and fitness organizations that are decades old.
I think by "industry" she was referring to being an influencer. And to her credit, someone having that kind of social media business was a fairly new industry at the time.
Absolutely love a traditional symbol of my culture being called a “new age danger.” The thing she called an “evil eye symbol” is a Hamsa. It’s a Jewish symbol representing the hand of G-d. It’s important in a lot of Middle Eastern cultures as well with a lot of different meanings. Some of which are protection from the “evil eye.” But it isn’t just some generic “evil eye,” symbol. And given how ancient it is I certainly wouldn’t call it a “new age,” thing.
So brave of her to show up as an influencer and film herself crying on the night she found out her hubby was cheating AND she couldn't even finish her workout 😥
In social work we have a thing called “clients have the right to self-determination”, meaning it is not our place to make treatment decisions for the person. Treating someone with dignity and respect means allowing them to choose their own path. What they did with that gentleman was so fuckin disgusting.
Yesssss!!! Omg I was thinking the same thing!! I’ve been in recovery for almost a decade now but I could never imagine doing that to a sponsee or anyone in the program
@@plagueangel I can see why the situation can be interpreted that way; however the choice was not given to him by a professional whom he sought out for help, but instead two wealthy influencers who were exploiting his situation for clout and attention. Why do church movements like the Salemese Church of Purita, Independent Baptists, and most Islamist theocracies, care so much about our outfits?! Jen thank you for pointing out that her being afraid of a crow outside her window IS being superstitious and that’s unbiblical. Tired of the hypocrisy.

Thank you for this breakdwon Jen. I had no idea who Brittany Dawn was until the State of Texas sued her and this background was tremendously helpful!!!
I will say, about the dog situation, its not even her husband shooting it I have a problem with. Its the fact that her other dog has apparently gotten out of the yard multiple times and she would never do anything about it. So she left her dogs in the yard to go run errands while she knew they could escape. Its really the negligence for me
I mean, it's pretty fucked up that her husband shot him and they didn't even try to get him to a vet for humane euthanasia. But yeah, my first thought was, "How did the dog get out?" I'm not surprised she was negligent, and she should fully blame herself for the dog getting hit. The asshole who hit him shouldn't have left, but Brittany should've been a responsible owner. I feel bad for the dog and no one else involved.
@@ladycaticorn2950 Oh, I don't mean its not fucked up he shot the dog, it most definitely is. I see it as, I don't know how badly the dog was injuried, so it might've hurt it more (or even killed it) to try to transport it, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I still find it freaky as hell he went ahead and shot it in the street like that though. Especially because she left it to go inside while it was "put down". It just sucks because it could have all been prevented if she did something.
@@maddimaudra7584 Texas has mobile vets that come to you to euthanize an animal that can’t be moved, we’ve had to use them before. It costs about $500, they could have afforded it. Jordan shot the dog cause he’s cruel. Shooting a dog in the head causes more suffering, it doesn’t kill them instantly. They writhe and scream and twitch causing more pain for several minutes before they can hemorrhage enough to die. We watch too many action movies and think that getting shot in the head is instant death, it’s far from it. I used to work in suicide prevention and yeah, a gun shot to the head is an awful way to go out and it’s even surprisingly survivable (if you can get medical attention) cause of how slow it really is.
I didn't know about the mobile vet. 100% they should have done that and they absolutely could afford it. I hope you realize I'm not defending shooting the dog at all, being hit and then shot is an absolutely horrible and painful death. I worded my initial comment wrong, I DO have a problem with him shooting it. However, in my opinion, the issue more lies mainly with the fact Brittany left her house for almost a full hour with her dogs alone in an unsecure yard. I think everybody is this situation is nasty, but Brittany especially
Ok, as someone who has been part of 12 step programs and has a lot if addiction in my family, to send a crisis intervention team to go find a homeless man because he doesn’t want to go to rehab, and to drag his family into it as well when I’m sure they have had years of worrying for their brother and the emotional roller coaster of loving an addict, is PROFOUNDLY NOT OK. They made their help contingent on his going to rehab, and hunted him down when he didn’t want to go. They are not his family, they are not his close friends, and they cannot force someone to get sober it they don’t want to…not to mention taking advantage of a vulnerable person for content. FUCK IM SO ANGRY!!!!
I absolutely agree. She probably thought raising and handing money to that man will solve all the problems away. If she is truly concern, she would know it would take a lot of time and patience to be able to help that man.
Exactly! As someone who's dealt with addiction in the past, as well as severe eating disorders (the latter I went into treatment for) - you can't force someone to get better! The person has to want it. And if the person's recovery has any chance of sticking, it needs to come from them and not the people around them. Let alone from some random "influencers" who are trying to use you for clout or whatever. Having support is obviously important. But these people were not really giving this man support. They were using him. It's so disgusting.
Bruh look at her... What the hell would someone like that know about helping an addict? If he really went to rehab like they said, thats a win for me, despite the way they used him for clout.
If somebody listened in on me in the shower and then put it on their story I would be livid. that is my sacred time where I get to replay past arguments and win
The French actually have a term for this sort of thing- l'esprit de l'escalier. It's leaving the room, going down the stairs and thinking of all the clever/ bitingly witty things you could have said. (I'm only sharing this as I have a HEART for it.)

i like how in her tiktoks she can memorize multiple verses to criticize the music industry but in her apology video -that was suppose to be genuine... she read off her phone.
“to bless this man’s life” has the energy of when people walk up to my mom (she’s got MS) and just tell her they’ll pray for her unprompted after prying about why she has a cane and what disease she has. amazing that those people can look so comparatively pleasant
Hearing her talk about the astrofest tragedy in such a matter of fact way when she’s only gotten information from TikTok and the Christian agenda is literally “gut-wrenching” as a Houstonian.
I completely agree. It's maddening that she's using an event where members of the community died and were injured to promote her agenda, without even taking a moment to respect the victims and their families
AND how she uses Satan to beat everyone over the head who isn't involved in her spiritual war. It's something I'd expect out of shady hyper-Born-Again, Southern Baptist, and Pentecostal-Charismatican ministries.
They're literally treating James like he's a stray dog they found with every single update they made about him. Imagine just walking down the street and a pair of evangelical bootlickers adopt you against your will to post about it on instagram 😭

The fact that james was treated that way breaks my heart. He reminds me if my parents. While i know he needed the help, he didnt need it to be treated in the way he did.
I was just a tad bit confused by that but not surprised, it just reminded me of the master grifter Jim Bakker selling some of his buckets with "Mexican" food. They may hate us one moment and then turn around and try to appropriate aspects of our culture.
To be fair, that pitbull is most likely in a home that loves him far FAR more than that now. Having worked in animal welfare, I have to keep that mindset. I figure if someone is willing to ditch their dog, that dog is trading up. Good job, puppy, get the hell out of there.
I'm glad that the dog got out of there too, considering what happened to Brody. My pit was a shelter dropoff from people who didn't want to take care of her. Better to rehome a dog than keep it around in a bad environment.
Unfortunately I found this video too late. I’ve watched and liked some of her recent shorts where she talks about struggling with miscarriage loss (which is totally valid) and how sweet her husband is to her (which now makes me sick to think about) and I feel like I unintentionally supported someone who sought to trick me and exploit my emotions in order to hang on to this “influencer” status that she clearly needed to give up long ago.
The part that got me was the "He needs rehab, which is expected in this situation". As if all homeless people are addicts, and that's why they're homeless.
As someone who has a sibling who has been through a men's Christian ranch "rehab center" it's very clear that they're doing little more than indentured servitude while having to pretend to be a born-again Christian. It did not help him with his addiction, unsurprisingly.
@@wuttbruh yup, I work as a community outreach worker and that comment grossed me out. Like I genuinely think there should be some form of support service rehabilitation program for those who have been homeless because the level of stress associated with needing to live like that is traumatic. But obviously that kind of rehab doesn't exist in a widespread manner and it's obvious she wasn't referring to that. Without going into a long rant, all I have to say is support Housing First initiatives and be person-centered.
Thank you. There are legitimate Christian-based addiction support groups that can be very helpful. Christian based 12-step groups. Actual rehabs? Religion should never be foisted on a person in exchange for help. I have a homeless sibling. He is currently unstablely housed but when he was living on the streets one of his greatest barriers to getting a job was the amount of time he spent listening to sermons in order to get crummy food. Oftentimes he would even miss shelter check-in if a pre-dinner sermon ran long. This was in the same general area as BD. She's in Dallas, he was in Fort Worth at the time.
It cracks me up that Fundies are so bothered by any belief that isn’t their own - witches, zodiac, energy, etc - but if those aren’t real then what does it matter. Why does she care if Lady Gaga is a witch? 😂
Nicole O’Hara It’s hilarious that these Fundies claim that their belief in Jesus is so strong that nothing can break it, then they freak out when they find out that Lady Gaga or Travis Scott might not be a Fundie. 🤣
Well, they're *supposed* to care about people's souls because the Bible says that witchcraft --> damnation; however, most evangelicals don't do a damn thing to help people "find the light." If Brittany was that concerned about people being damned for all of eternity for believing the wrong thing, why wouldn't she go out evangelizing and doing everything she could to save people? Why wouldn't she give all of her money away to help them? She doesn't care; she's just leveraging a conservative white audience to fund her lifestyle and help her remain relevant since her fitness career is over. Acting threatened by new age spiritualism is more about posturing to her evangelical followers than it is about genuine concern for people's souls.
@@ladycaticorn2950 As far as caring about people’s souls go I think that should be a personal decision, a Fundie can “care” about someone because their Bible tells them to, but they shouldn’t be forcing their Biblical values on others. Secondly I completely agree with you on how Fundies behave, they tend to only care about their inner-circle of other Fundies, and don’t actually take the time to invest in helping people they pretend to care about. I also find it funny that these Fundies say “We need to go back to Biblical times”, and they denounce people that don’t follow their “Be in this world but not of it” rhetoric, but they have no problem using modern day things like phones and cameras which most definitely didn’t exist in the times they preach that we need to resort back to.
@@ladycaticorn2950 I’ve also noticed that a lot of these Fundies tend to preach the Bible, and say it’s “God’s word” but end up making themselves out to be Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit. Like if you’re that self centered then just say it 🤷🏼♀️.
No they do believe those things are real. They just believe that those things are satanic and not of God. Plus when Christians or Fundies say “Be in this world, not of this world” it doesn’t mean be against everything of this modern world, just anything that is against God’s commandments. I do agree that a lot of these people claiming they are real Christians certainly don’t practice what they preach. Source: Progressive Christian
I am really grossed out by the “James” exploitation. People are so terrible. Oooh look at me give me credit for putting this guy in a hotel for a night and making him read the Bible with us and put it all on SM. Smh. What shmucks. Just donate ANONYMOUSLY to a homeless shelter or fund.
Exactly. Housing First initiatives are key. Also in general, the best thing you can donate to social service charities (homeless shelters, food banks, community centers, women's shelters) is money and the second best is time.
They did a fundraiser on their social media for him. I bet they barely put any money of their own into helping him, but they took all the credit for it.
At 21:41 I would like to point out that that is NOT an Evil Eye/Eye of Allah: that's a Hamsa (countries in which the majority of the population is Muslim refer to it also as Khamsa), which is a traditional symbol in many Mediterranean cultures. The Evil Eye she refers to is usually found in North Africa, Greece, and Southern Italy, and it's traditionally made of blue glass with a stylized eye painted on it, and nowadays has far less religious connotations than it used to a couple of centuries ago. Evil Eye and Hamsa are at literal opposites. Brittany's evangelical nonsense WISHES it was as old as the Hamsa and the Evil Eye. It truly wishes.
Hamsa or hand of Fatima also has a lot of significance in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is an ancient middle eastern amulet symbolizing the hand of God. No matter what faith you are it is a sign that symbolizes protection and is meant to bring its owner happiness, luck, good health, and good fortune. The earliest known appearance of the Hamsa hand was modern day Iraq, better known previously as Mesopotamia. In Hinduism it represents the chakras, the five senses and their associated mudras (hand gestures) that re-direct energy flow throughout the body.
Yes - the chamsa, or Hand of Miriam, actually predates Islam and Judaism, originating in the middle east (specifically around Mesopotamia). From what I've heard, the first "abrahamic" religion (I use quotes because I dislike that phrase) to begin using this iconography was Judaism, dating back to biblical times as referenced in the tanach. Regardless of which middle eastern groups picked it up as part of their culture, though, Brittany certainly has no right to appropriate it to appear legitimate and devout to an ancient culture that she is not a part of. There's an unsettling trend of evangelical Christians co-opting Jewish traditions in the name of Jesus, even using them to proselytize which is against the teachings of Judaism. I don't respect people who tokenize us like this.
@@painter-midge That co-opting of Jewish traditions by Evangelicals is another reason I harbor such a distaste for pastors fluffing-up what they've passed off as "Judeo-Christian" traditions and history ever since 9-11-001. It comes off like a demagoguerous attempt at othering Muslims who have no interest in committing violence, and it sounds related to the Seven Mountain Dominion's obsession with taking over Isreal-Palestine under the delusion of Revelationist prophecy. To Ellery: For almost a decade now, several extremist pastors have been trying to link Yoga and other South Asian, Tibetian, Hindu, and Buddhist motifs, traditions, and cultural elements to Satan. It comes off like a creepy attempt to stoke anti-Asian bigotry.
The fact that she thinks that yoga is demonic is completely hilarious lol. "Oh god, know, I stretched and now I am possessed!". Does she not stretch before/after workouts? Also your makeup look today is so gorgeous!!
I do have to note that asanas or the poses most people think of is one of 8 major parts of Yoga so it is more spiritual than just stretching. Doesn’t make her delusions any less crazy though.
My grandma is a Christian and she always says that yoga will have you do certain chants as a reason to not do it but I’ve been to several yoga classes and it’s never been a spiritual thing at all. Mostly for the purpose of fitness and stress relief
@@retrogirl2498 yeah I mean yoga has been co-opted by western fitness trends and yoga classes in the US at least usually have nothing spiritual about them. But the tradition of yoga - not the western fitness trend but like yoga as it was intended, has 8 major components, and asanas (the poses) are only one of them and it’s very spiritual.
It is ridiculous! But as a SE Asian I do want to point out that yoga is a spiritual and mental practice, not just a random series of stretches! The yoga that I grew up with included some very explicitly religious mantras and meditation. It's not that they hate stretching, they hate it because they think foreign religions are demonic.

That’s just projection like so many fundies do it, reminds me of the whole “special snowflake” thing yet they were freaking out about Harry Potter not too long ago.
My ex husband was a conman who loved to take advantage of people in churches. He would find "lost" souls, bring them to church to parade them around, and then beg money from people to "help" them. He took the money people gave and would pocket it. I found this out after I married him--it stopped as soon as I found out. It was worth the abuse I endured to stop that behavior. We were divorced quickly after. Brittany and her icky husband gave me those same vibes!
The way she talks about James gave me horrible flashbacks to my up bringing. Just the words they used and the way they treated him, it didn’t feel like it was about him it was about them. I’m sure they whole thing was played for the church on Sunday.
It didn’t FEEL like it was all about them, it definitely WAS all about them. They want to be like, look at me, doing good things,, when they are too ignorant to realize that we are all appalled at their actions.
Listening to her talk about that gave me a sick feeling in my stomach and so kick reminded me of how The Church can do this: helping someone who needs help and then making the whole story about them. They should have kept that on the DL or let James tell his own story.

This is an age old question. It's mind boggling.
So I'm NOT a horse person but BIG props to the horse people for their care for this animal and their perfect response to her BS. Love to see it.

Having been through homelessness, addiction, rehab, and recovery myself, I can say that this condescending attitude toward people experiencing these things is all too common... _especially_ from religious conservatives. He gives me toxic evangelical pastor energy, but the idea of saving an emergency fund and paying off debt is sound basic advice. the way they treated that grown ass man like a stray dog they found, i will never understand infantilizing someone going through homelessness, it is (in my opinion) the most alienating and horrifying thing in this already horrifying world to not have even a place to rest your head at night. the loneliness everyone feels at some point? that is constant and immensely more deep when you are without a home, i would never wish that on anyone especially because it is so preventable if the ppl in power cared at all about quality of life. makes 100% sense to me that her husband is the kind of officer he was then pulling something like this, playing hero but if james had been black they would’ve called him a crackhead and went about their oblivious little lives. the stigma w homelessness is just another level of disgusting to me. esp putting out to public that he not only needs rehab but that he at first was hesitant to go, like these people have no shame!!! all i can is gross.

Marsha Marsha Marshaaaaaa
Her saying there was no instruction manual for the fitness industry...as someone who has a Health/Fitness bachelor's degree from the early 2000s, I know that there are plenty of resources, books, websites, credit and non-credit courses and lots of certification options from reputable health and fitness organizations that are decades old.
Yeah that irritated me. She's not a bold pioneer into uncharted territory, she just thought she could profit without doing the necessary labour.
Yeah, I thought fitness coaches had code of conducts…you know, like a manual.
It sounds like she believes that doing the same thing on a social media platform was a brand new industry.
👏👏👏👏👏agree!!!!
Yet she washed her husband’s feet at her wedding which she appropriated from an older Jewish custom. It’s pretty laughable.
The "new age" movement is full of that kind of cultural appropriation
As a middle eastern Jewish woman I appreciate you pointing this out.
It's apart of my greek culture too, along with astrology and such. It's funny how so much pagan stuff she deems "satanist" when none are relatdd

Did they really force him to go to rehab? He seemed like he wanted to be there by choice.
@@plagueangel I can see why the situation can be interpreted that way; however the choice was not given to him by a professional whom he sought out for help, but instead two wealthy influencers who were exploiting his situation for clout and attention. The power dynamics were completely off in that situation, not just because of their wealth, but because they could withdraw said wealth and support anytime they felt like he wasn't co-operating
As someone who's also in the social work field, I agree.
Thank You for all you do and your consideration for the client's autonomy.
Just a reminder that her "modesty journey" started last winter and suspiciously went away by summer. I expect another modesty journey to start soon. It also mostly consisted of sweats and sweatshirts.
I thought it was funny when she highlighted her "modest" clothing in that TikTok, but she was wearing a short dress that showed off her legs. I'm not sure that's very modest 😅
Yes, absolutely! We all dress more “modest” in the winter time.. because it’s cold! 💗
Why do church movements like the Salemese Church of Purita, Independent Baptists, and most Islamist theocracies, care so much about our outfits?! If there's any reason why it should matter how anyone dresses, it's a few people hoarding wealth and dressing lavishly while their country or community starves or goes despondent.

The right word for a "Christian based rehab program" is scam.
Without going into a long rant, all I have to say is support Housing First initiatives and be person-centered.

No they do believe those things are real. They just believe that those things are satanic and not of God. Plus when Christians or Fundies say “Be in this world, not of this world” it doesn’t mean be against everything of this modern world, just anything that is against God’s commandments.
Honestly we Greeks chuck Matia on just about anything nowadays, you're spot on
@@painter-midge That co-opting of Jewish traditions by Evangelicals is another reason I harbor such a distaste for pastors fluffing-up what they've passed off as "Judeo-Christian" traditions and history ever since 9-11-001.
Well most of the things she hates is things from non white cultures
The fact that she thinks that yoga is demonic is completely hilarious lol. "Oh god, know, I stretched and now I am possessed!". Does she not stretch before/after workouts?
Also your makeup look today is so gorgeous!!
I do have to note that asanas or the poses most people think of is one of 8 major parts of Yoga so it is more spiritual than just stretching. Doesn’t make her delusions any less crazy though.
I asked the same thing! Warm up/ cool downs in stretching set grounding intentions. Like, how often does she pull muscles?

It's the oompa loompa skin and foundation
It's those lashes and the fake tan.
Maybe its not really our place to age shame her. It doesnt matter what age she looks, the real issue is her awful personality.
“there are some things on the surface that have come to the surface that have come to fruition” when you need to hit the word count on an essay. this part sent me lmao
that whole sentence confused me so much. like girl make it make sense lmao
"Society is so sensitive!!!"
*tattooed person who is gay exists*
"I'm offended by you being near me!"
We are blessed to have you as our pastor, Jen.
This was a ride! She’s so similar to nearly every girl I ever met at church camp in high school. I’m sure they’re all doing great with their MLM businesses. Just like her.
Brittany Dawn pushes Arbonne too. 😂😭
@@StandUserGuts 😂called it
Omg not everyone who is homeless is an addict or alcoholic or even has mental health issues. Some people are just in a bad place and they have no other options available to them. Its to be expected in this situation? Who the heck does she think she is?
