An Introduction is an autobiographical poem by Kamala Das, an Indian writer in English. It was published in the year 1965, and voices Kamala's opinions in a patriarchal society. Kamala Das is one of the very few Indian poets I admire and this is one of my most favorite poems by her apart from "My Grandmother's House", "Summer in Calcutta" and "My Mother at Sixty Six". Beautifully explained ma'am ❤🙏🏻
Kamla das is my favourite Indian poetess in every poem I can feel her deep insight towards life ,her boldness,her fiery spirit and her confessions .... An introduction,my grandmother house, the dance of eunuchs,the old playhouse ,my mother at sixty six all are so heart touching poems ❤❤❤😊😊😊 and Heena ma'am narration is just out of imagination every text which she discuss drag out of theirs limit and carries to its Apex ❤❤❤❤❤

best combo i have ever heard , tbh tis poem has brought me joy , i was filled emotion and kinda felt emotional connect . i think every girl has felt some what i have mentioned and the theme which i found accordding to my thinking is that a girl should express her self , unapologetically

Kamala Das was suffering from a colonized mindset, and a lack of love for her Hindu heritage, thus converted to Islam. Saree is oppressive but A burkha is an expression of freedom ?
