Well, thats because, as I stated before, the first sun is produced faster by the sun producer than the following ones. How does my strategy abuse the fact of the first sun being faster? Well, first you plant two sunflowers, just as you would plant a twin, but now they are separate entities, and no sun producing timer has reset. Now, at the start of the second turn, you get the sun produced by each of them (50, which is the same amount 1 Twin-sunflower produces) and will now make both of them turn into Twin-sunflowers. Doing this, you reset their timer to being the first sun produced, which is faster. On turn 3, both Twin-sunflowers, which were made on the previous turn, produce sun, giving you 100 sun in total. This is 50 more than the amount you used to get by turn 3 in the previous strategy. For casuals, this should not really matter, actually, but when you play at the highest difficulty this could be a life savior. Tl, dr; overanalyzing a simple mechanic of the game, just to make a little more sun on the start, a change that is not at all noticeable at late game
