I was in the national camping group and many of the members used kayaks. I had a fishing kayak but could hold my poles, etc. One woman showed up one time with one of these kayaks that you carry in a bag and put together. She loved it. The kayak you’re using now sounds a lot better. I bet it’s a lot newer than that old one I saw.

I bought an ORU Inlet 2 years ago and love it. My primary reason for buying it was I could easily take it camping with me and use on the small lakes and calm rivers I camp by. At just over 20 pounds it’s super easy to pack into a lake or pond. Glad you found ORU!!

I love Alaska, the beautiful mountains and land is so pure and clean. My brother was stationed at Ft Wainwright, in Fairbanks.
I spent a month up there, when is t was 24 hours of daylight. That was very difficult, my brother bought me some darking shades. I have to say it was probably one of the best vacations I have ever gone on. ❤️

That kayak was a work of art. It was almost translucent when you had it in the water , beautiful. Sure it had a few issues like the seat being uncomfortable but those little bugs will get worked out as the manufacturer makes improvements. I like it and give it a 9 out of 10. Stay cool Brooke and stay happy.

I seen ones similar to yours at a local lake yesterday. I'm not sure if they're ocean friendly or not, but they worked perfectly and have a super easy set up an down. All the components roll up in it with clips to keep the roll together and a shoulder strap. When rolled up it's the size of a large duffel bag

What a beautiful video. I wish I could kayak in Alaska; it looks amazing. I have the Oru Beach. I take it out in the marina and love it. Have had mine for a year and a half. I bought the backpack, too, but rarely use it. I found it hard to get my kayak inside of it. I'll try again. You make it look so easy.

Thanks for the demo! I just purchased my first kayak. I've always wondered how a folding kayak would be put together. Way back (1995) I was in Yellowknife waiting for the bus back down to Edmonton when I met a Japanese sports writer also waiting for the bus and he had a folding kayak and was planning on paddling up the MacKenzie River. I could not picture a "folding kayak". I often wondered how he made out on such a long ambitious journey.

My brother and his wife have those kayaks and I have been in them as well and we do love them however when getting into the kayak from a rocky shore it is so easy to puncture the hull and its happened 6 times to my brother ,but to be far they go out almost 4 times a month onto the ocean here in Washington state but you can get a patch kit that works great any way that's one thing to watch out for when getting and out of the kayak on a rocky shore other than that enjoy it.

Brooke, I love it. It maybe just the thing for me because it compacts down. I would love to have a hard shell Kayak but, it wouldn’t fit in my mustang, hubby don’t want it in the back of the pickup. LoL I already have enough thing on my little camper, so I got me an inflatable one. It fits anywhere! I actually got it because you showed us yours in a video a while back.

Small tip...the rubber rings on the paddle should be slid in closer to your hands as they stop water from running down the paddle on the upstroke and dripping into the boat. Not very effective when the rings go under water on the downstroke....I have the smaller Inlet model from ORU and really like it for van life.

Awesome video! I’m in process of deciding between the Beach LT sport and Bay ST. I’m in Tennessee so no need for the coast just will be casual paddles on lakes and slow rivers. Occasionally fishing from it. But I watch all these cause I’m so fascinated by them lol. I have a Pelican currently and I’m beyond done with having to load it on top of vehicle. Gonna keep it for friends/family that ever paddle with me
